This is so much better than the shampoo. Even though I do not quite like the scent but it left my hair feeling softer and manageable. This is a saving grace for the shampoo as I used this conditioner after its shampoo.
But it seems like the conditioner is being soaked into the hair so much when its wet that I almost do not feel anything on my hair.
However, after rinsing out, the hair definitely feels much better though I did not see any shine.

Would I buy this again?
I hardly think so, as there are tons of conditioner out there which would definitely be much better.

This is my very first shampoo using natural ingredients. Touting as 98.8% natural, pH balanced, sodium Lauryl/Laureth Sulfate Free and paraben free, I really wanted to like this shampoo.

Scoring at 7.4 from Total Beauty, it seems that alot of people actually quite like this shampoo but it just does not work out for me.

The scent is off-putting, the shampoo left my hair feeling dry and brittle and the rinsing process made my hair felt chalky and dry. My hair felt greasy and unclean after every shampoo. I really need to use a conditioner to make the hair feels softer.

Thank goodness, there is still some slight lathering foam to save this shampoo, else its a failure from start to end. Right now, I am just hoping to finish up this shampoo and it will not be something I will ever purchase again.

Review on Tony Moly Crystal BB Cream (Natural)

This BB cream comes in 2 types - natural and bright

I came to know about this brand after I heard that Hyun Joong is endorsing it. I used to be a fan of Hyun Joong after watching the Korean version of Boys Over Flowers. He is just so cute, with a boyish smile.

Tony Moly is one of the many skincare brands in Korea which have not come to Singapore. Hence, you may have difficulty in getting any of this brand’s products unless someone is selling it online.

Unlike Etude House, the product description on all Tony Moly’s products are in Korean language and no English language at all. 

I received 2 complimentary sachets when I bought their eye masks in Korea. All back descriptions were in Korean language. No SPF was indicated on the sachets as well.

Hence I am not sure what beneficial properties are there, for this BB cream. Does it contain whitening, hydrating or sun protection properties? 1 sachet was able to last me for almost a month and I am ready to review this, after 2 months of usage.

In comparison with Etude House Sheer Glowing Skin , this BB cream comes across as moist and is lovely to use on the skin. Recommended for fair skin, it is very sheer and blends in so well with my skintone that I cannot see that I am wearing any BB cream at all.

I would say that its more hydrating than Etude House Sheer Glowing Skin and made my skin feels supple. Oil control was slightly better although my T-zone still shines by mid day but not as much as when I was using Sheer Glowing Skin.
The coverage is very minimal and does not help to conceal any redness or blemishes.

Since there is no indication of the SPF coverage, I am currently using it over my day lotion with SPF protection, just to be on the safe side.

I found the scent to be pretty alright, not an issue with me. The coverage is pretty minimal so if you are the kind who is looking for minimal coverage, you may want to check out this one.

 
Would I buy this? No, because its too sheer and the coverage is almost non-existent.

Review on Skin Food Bean Moist Mask Sheet

I gotta admit that I picked these masks just to try them out, without having any high expectations. There were too many masks from Skin Food and only the yummy ingredients screamed at me to pick them.
Well, so I picked up 2 sheets together with a whole lot of other Skin Food masks at Korea. 2 promoters were so shocked at the number of masks I have picked up and scrambled to calculate them. One calculate the price and the other count the sheet masks. Mistakes were made and they re-calculate again.
Its a beauty spree for me, in Korea because I picked up items wherever I go.
My parents could only shake their heads in disbelief, especially my Dad. ( It was a family trip )

I came back to Singapore, a happy gal and is following up with my reviews, fast and furious.
Folded just the way it is, similar to the other Skin Food masks, its also scented but its still bearable.
The initial flaking on my chin area were much hydrated after the treatment though there were still slight flakiness.
Its wet and gives a refreshing boost to my face.
My skin feels softer and smoother but no visible firming though.

Would I buy this again? Yes

Review on Ettusais Hyper Eye Make Off

Product Description
Quick and thorough removal of waterproof eye make-up and leaves no traces of oil on the skin.

I have been using this eye make-up remover for some time. Its my 3rd bottle, to be exact. This fragrance free and colorant free product comes in a transparent bottle so I know when its ending soon. The liquid in the bottle looks clear enough to mislead one that its water-based which was what I thought. I usually steer away from oily products to avoid milia seeds occurrence.

I am glad to say that my eyes are coping well with this remover.
I actually do not quite like that it leaves an oily film on my eye area which needs to rinse off with water but at least its able to remove almost all my eye make-up which usually include mascara, eyeliner and eyeshadow.
At times, I still need to use a Q-tip to remove the remaining eyeliner marks though

I am hoping to find a water-based eye make-up remover because the oil film is not what I prefer to have. I would still continue to use this for now.

Review on Innisfree Q10 Collagen Eye Mask

Innisfree is a Korean brand not available locally so I bought their eye masks when I was in Korea last year.
As the product description was in Korean language, I can only guess that this collagen eye mask is meant to firm and hydrate the under eye area.
A pair of cresent-shaped eye masks is packaged in a clamp-shell type which gives a minty and cold feeling on the under eye area. I believe it will help to depuff the under eye area although I did not see any visible improvement on my eyes.
The minty feel is pretty soothing and refreshing and I can still feel that my eye area is minty even after removing the eye masks.

I had been using the 5 pair of eye masks within 2 weeks but yet to see any improvement.

Would I buy this again?
Definitely no.

Review on previously visited Hair Salons - Part II

Well, this is Part II, as promised.

Jayun at Pacific Plaza
It was my first Korean hair salon and I was looking forward to it. However, after the session, I told myself that its going to be my first and last one as it was the highest amount I ever spent on my hair. I blew $400+ on haircut, hair treatment and 2 tone colouring job in here.
I do not see any difference between this Korea salon and the normal salons I went to.

Unfortunately, as my stylist was 1 of the 3 directors in the salon, I was being charged a premium rate for the services she did for me. I was surprised that she was a Malaysian. I was expecting the director to be a Korean.
She was very pretty and well-groomed and her English although not as fluent as some Singaporeans but nevertheless was better than most Malaysians I came across in salons.

She was quite pushy and insisted that I need this service or that service, everything she says, everything was charged. It was so expensive. Since she was a director of the salon, I was disappointed that the haircut given was so mediocre, in fact not much of my hair was cut off and yet I was charged a premium rate because of her status.
Gosh. I felt so cheated.

The only difference was that each stylist have about 2 dedicated assistants to help them.

Spa Scene at Raffles City
My first time getting a haircut from a hairstylist from China as I thought the hair scene is usually dominated by Malaysians in Singapore salons.

I did my perm and it was wonderfully done, although the first impression of my curls was that of a poodle. However the curls turned out nicely after a month, when the curls have slightly loosen.

The Scene at Raffles City
I will not step into this salon again, its way too pushy. I was not able to get any peace throughout my 2 hours haircut. The pushy female stylist was busy trying to recommend me products and services to the point that I was irritated.

Reds Salon at Suntec City
No good vibes from this salon. It was way too noisy with the stylists yelling to one another above the noise of the hair dryers.
Magazines given to me were all in Chinese.

Supercuts at Tiong Bahru Plaza
This salon and stylist was highly recommended by my aunt who is a regular there. Sandy is one of the senior stylists or perhaps the person in charge of the salon. She is very professional and ethical. The only stylist to say that I do not need any hair treatment and just a haircut will do. She did not try to push any services or products to me at all.

Review on previously visited Hair Salons -part I

This is a short summary of the hair services I have done in the various hair salons in Singapore throughout the years.

When I was still a student, having a haircut in neighbourhood salons was a norm as its more economical and friendly on the pocket.
However, when I started working and have more cash, I was willing to splurge on more expensive hair salons as I felt that they are more up to date on the latest hair trends and will be able to recommend hairstyles that are suitable for my face shape.

Note that some of the salons indicated below may have already change their location.

Kimage at Chinatown Point
This was my first hair perm and it was a sensation among those who saw my curls. I got a lot of attention with my lightly tinted hair curls and was amazed at what a big transformation it gave me. I finally realized that a good hair style made all the difference to someone’s outlook. My stylist was a manager in the salon.

Two colleagues were so impressed with my perm that they went to look for the same stylist as mine but both were disappointed with their curls as it did not turn out as nice as mine. They rebonded their hair a few days after the perm.
Our hair structure are simply different.

I went back a second time, looking for the same hair stylist a few years later and wanted to do a hair perm. However this perm turned out differently that what I had that first time. It was a disappointment.

Kimage at Pioneer Mall
Business was not every good in this salon as its almost vacant, perhaps its due to being situated in a neighbourhood where HDB-dwellers are less willing to splurge on higher haircuts but I was very pleased with the service from the stylists except for the young ah-beng who wash my hair.

The ah-beng was a heavy smoker as I can inhale all the smoke while he was washing my hair. His massages were so deep rooted that it made my scalp hurt for days. I never experience something like that before. It was simply terrible.

I specially requested this male stylist ( although I cannot remember his name now) after I read all the good reviews he received in the forum, regarding his good colouring job. I was not disappointed.

He did a good job with 2 tone colouring and I received compliments from friends and strangers. A promoter even came up to me and asked where I did the hair colouring job.

He was the person in charge of the salon and is very humble of his achievements after I told him about his rave reviews in the forum.
I wondered why I never went back again. Gee. I must try to recall this stylist’s name.

Kimage at Jurong East
I went back to this salon twice because I found the female stylist to be quite friendly and approachable. The layering was not too much and is just what I wanted.

Kimage at Funan
A friend recommended this salon as cheap and good. I realized later why its more affordable as compared to the rest of the Kimage salons because its Kimage hairdressing training salon where aspiring stylists trained in this salon hence the rates are cheaper. A simple haircut of mine took about 2.5hours compared to the usual 1hour at other salons. I would not trade time for money.

The hair treatment also does not last till the next day.

Next Salon at Holland Village
I received a lot of compliments from my colleagues after my haircut, they say it was suitable for my face shape and made my face looked leaner and sharper.

Strangely enough, I never go back to the salon again. Haha.

Fox Salon at Shaw Center
I was horrified with this salon. This was the first time that snippets of my hair was all over my face after my haircut. I did not realize it when I took the train. Imagine my horror when I looked into the mirror a few hours later.
How can any stylist be so unprofessional?

Backstage Salon at Forum
I had high expectations of this salon as I remembered that this salon was usually featured in the closing credits of our local TV dramas. However, service was cold and impersonal. I did a haircut and a hair colouring job there but I remembered I was not very happy with the whole experience. The vibes that they gave me, was that they catered to the rich and famous customers. I do not own any credit cards that time and they were not impressed with the debit card I was holding.

Storm at Jurong Point
The haircut was atrocious. It was layered too much at the nape of the neck that all the ends curled out, making it very ugly and difficult to maintain.

Chapter 2 at Marina Square
The young male stylist was one of the few stylists in the salon. He is quite chatty, approachable and friendly. He was able to put me at ease and is able to give me a few recommendations of the hair colouring. However, I was abit upset to see that my hair colour was so much lighter than what I was able to accept. Usually light hair colour made the hair look dry and straw-like and that was the last thing I ever wanted but that was what I got.

The people in this salon gave me the vibes of being ah-bengs and ah-lians but are in fact pretty friendly and down-to-earth.

I actually prefer this to the serum as its not oily and leave my skin supple and well-hydrated. There is not much scent as far as I am concerned and my skin immediately feels much soothed and refreshed.

Note that there is mineral oil content in this moisturizer which may not be welcomed for some users.

I am back in this salon after a year for hair perm again.
Considering its centralised location, wallet-friendly prices and good service, this is actually quite a value-for-money hair salon to try.

The same stuck-up lady is still at the counter although she did say a Thank You after I made payment. She is actually very pretty and the sort where guys will take a second look. Petite, long tresses, big eyes and wearing full make-up.

Carmen is still very friendly and very popular among customers and colleagues.
I guess she must be quite experienced among her colleagues as a couple of colleagues approached her to ask about certain hair services jobs.
Colleagues in this salon help one another which is pretty nice, although whether it’s a mandatory rule, that I am not so sure.

The towel on my shoulder slipped leaving my wet hair on my shirt was quickly rectified by another stylist who was doing the hair of the lady beside me.
Help was rendered by another male stylist when I was trying to push up the round hair dryer/steamer as it was almost covering my forehead. He was just walking past.
All these little help, although its nothing much but they actually impressed me as it meant good service and attitude.

After all the salons I have tried before, this is one salon which never fail to impress me with its customer-oriented service.
Customers streamed in non-stop, whether its expatriates, teenagers, ladies or males. Business is actually pretty good, even though there were many hair salons in Centerpoint.
Carmen was sharing with me that, the same time last year, business was even better.
I can attest to that, because last year when I was having a hair perm, I waited for Carmen till my patience runs dry as she kept tending to her regulars, leaving me waiting in frustration.

When I reached at my appointed time of 12noon, the salon was already pretty crowded and Carmen was busy with another customer ( 2 customers to be exact, as I found out later ), a tall guy whom I think was named Marcus with hurricane-like hair and wearing the current trendy nerdy glasses helped to wash my hair.
He was pretty courteous and asked me to watch my step as I was wearing heels and skirt that day.
While washing my hair, he did splash some slight water and shampoo several times on both of my arms without apologies. Its not a big issue though.

I took things for granted and thought that Carmen would understand the kind of curls that I was looking for, since she had helped to perm my hair before. Therefore, I did not bother to explain much. Carmen says she understood what I wanted.
However, the end result was not exactly what I wanted as the curls was too small. I prefer large wavy curls.
Carmen explained to me that due to the need to have the curls to last long, the curls would be tighter and smaller in the initial period but due to the weight, the curls would slowly be larger as the time goes by.

I understood the logic as I had done perms in various salons over the years but I still would prefer a larger curl than what I am having now.
I felt that I looked like a poodle. Haha.
It may be an exaggeration because I always looked like a poodle after some of the perms but the curls usually turned out very nicely after some time.

By the time I left the salon, it was already 430pm. Actually I hate to spend such a long time in salons as it meant an afternoon is gone just like that but there is no choice since a hurried job result may not be good.

All in all, it was a pleasant experience, except for the smaller curls.

Review on Stila Illuminating Liquid Foundation

Product Description

It comes in 8 different shades from 10watts to 80watts, a rather interesting way of describing its shades, though I thought if I take the word at face value, doesn't 80watts meant brighter?

Scoring a 3.7 rating from Makeupalley and 8.7 rating at Total Beauty, this foundation with a runny-like texture provides a sheer to medium coverage and although it claims to be able to hide flaws and imperfections, I hardly think so.
With sheer coverage, its usually unable to provide much good coverage for blemishes.
Infused with mica, tiny crystals found in nature, this product reflects light and gives a subtle glow to my face.
I never wear it alone though, I usually matched it with my Estee Lauder brightening compact powder.

I have been using my 20watts for almost a year as a little goes a long way.  On a close up look, there are little speckles of shimmers which made my skin look more radiant and healthier, without being over the top. Its pretty light-weight and is not very greasy which made it such a breeze to apply.

After the success of using this liquid foundation, I am looking forward to using more of Stila make-up products. I would recommend this product to those with good skin as I felt that the shimmers may bring more attention to the blemishes.

Tony Moly Clear Water Lip and Eye Remover

Product Description

I received this sample as part of the free gifts when I bought Tony Moly products. Korea have this practice of giving away free samples when you bought their products. I thought this was a splendid way of letting the customers try out their products first and really hope Singapore can follow this practice.

The scent is abit off-putting though, I do not really like it.
As the name proclaims, its like clear water but with a slight tad of oil although you cannot really see it.
I usually use this to cleanse away my concealer, usually accompanied with BB cream so I have never try with heavier make-up.
For heavier make-up, I prefer to use another make-up remover which I would review at a later date.

For light make-up, this works alright for me but because of the smell, I probably will not get it again.

When I first received this sample size as part of a GWP, I was contemplating if I should use it. The name sounded more for wrinkles usage, most commonly found in mature ladies. I was also worried about milia seeds as products for mature ladies are usually more oily to combat their dehydrated or dry skin.

I am glad to say that my worries are certainly unfounded.
Even though this dermatologist-tested, ophthalmologist-tested and non-acnegenic is stated as an eye cream, its actually pretty light and non-greasy. The scent is also quite pleasant. Some users have recommended it as a great eye cream for puffiness but I have yet to see any improvement on my eyebags. Perhaps its more useful on the eyelids.

It scored a 7.4 grade in Total Beauty where a lot of users have fallen in love with this eye cream. Sadly, it did nothing for me. It seems like a normal eye cream as far as I am concerned. I will be on the lookout for the next one.

Apologies for this late review, as I believe it has since been replaced by another product from Laneige.
I usually will take quite some time to use up my make-up products as I only used it over the weekends and BB cream on weekdays.

I received this as a Xmas gift from a close friend quite some time back and did not get to use it until my Benefit That Gal was used up.
A little goes a long way so I have decided to review this after using this for a couple of months. Reviews on my blog are only provided after I have used the products for a period of time so please bear with me. I believe that benefits for certain products will only be apparent only after a period of time so review after a one-time usage is just not so fair to all of us.

Although this shade 10 (white pink) is still wearable on my skin but its not a perfect shade for my tone. The product claims that it is able to lighten skin instantly. With that in mind, I wonder if my face appears whiter after each application is a genuine concern. This shade is definitely not for the dark skin tone as applying on my face produces a white cast with a slight pinkish tone immediately. It gives a slight shimmering effect which could be largely due to their light reflecting particles as claimed in the product description.

Male friends have commented recently that I looked too fair ( with make-up ) even though I have been using this for months so I am guessing that its either I have turned fairer that the white cast made my face appears even whiter or that I have turned darker and that the shade does not suit me.
Hmm. Both analogies sound logical to me. Haha.

Although it contains arbutin to lighten skin and spots, its not fair for me to judge on its efficacy as I used it only during weekends.
And any white cast on the skin after application will be offset by the compact powder so my skin appears brighter and more radiant in the end.

I am also happy to say that it provides SPF32 with PA+ sun protection against UVA and UVB rays. Under sunny Singapore, this is very important to me. And most importantly that its oil-free. I simply adore oil-free products.

Would I buy this?
Probably not, as I believe there are better products out there.

Review on Etude House Eye Secret WH701 Light White

During my Korea trip last year, I picked this up in a haste at the airport since it was quite affordable and I thought it would look good. This was my first glitter eyeshadow and I was quite excited to try it out.
I used it throughout my trip and I was initially quite impressed with it.
I am not sure if the weather matters because I felt that I looked better with this Eye Secret in Korea than in Singapore. It adheres well and made my eyes goes "pop".

The packaging is pretty sweet and compact-looking. The texture and the glitter are quite powdery though.

I wore spectacles in Korea and most of the time in Singapore. With Eye Secret, I just use my fingers to apply on my eyelids, followed with a brown eyeliner.Voila! My eyes and face suddenly looked much alive, radiant and brighter. I really like how it looked at that time.

Back in humid Singapore, it could be that my eyelids have turned oily ( although I do not feel so )because I realized that Eye Secret does not seem to hold well, the look after application seemed almost scattered. The colour and glitter becomes very subtle and it requires more layering before it gets better.
I have since learnt to layer it on top of my powder eyeshadow ( choose colours that complements with this Eye Secret )to give it more definition.
However, since I never like applying powder eyeshadow when I wore spectacles, I am still falling back on this Eye Secret till I found a better one as I prefer a subtle look under spectacles.

For the affordable price, this is quite a decent eyeshadow although it falls short of my expectations.

Would I buy this again? Probably not.

Review on Clinique Deep Cleansing Emergency Mask

This is a clay-based, lightweight and creamy mask treatment recommended for the oily and pore-clogged skin.
A close friend of mine highly recommended this mask to me. She has flawless skin and this mask is part of her regular maintenance. Her hubby is also a fan of the mask and used it on every alternate day.
Wow. If this is really that good, then I must try it.

As proclaimed before, I am not a Clinique fan because I have seen how it made another friend of mine broke out with even more pimples and that freaked me out. Good products are not supposed to do that, I felt.

The texture is abit creamy and chalky, although it spreads easily but it still gives a chalky and gritty feeling after application. As the mask starts to dry, there is a tightening feeling and if you look into the mirror at the end effect after the mask had dried, the area looks cracked with lines.
Its not a pleasant sight but that is a minor issue for me. It can get abit messy to rinse though, as water cannot seem to cleanse all away because the nitty gritty white clay debris still gets stuck on some areas so what I usually does, is to wet the cotton pads with water and clean it off before rinsing my face with water. As it can be drying, sometimes I follow up with a hydrating mask or booster.

I used this whenever my chin area broke out with a pimple and this mask really helps to heal it faster. In fact, I only need to use it once to see the effect.
My pimple becomes less inflamed, smaller and oil is better controlled on the chin area.

However, I do noticed that even though the zit may have been reduced and almost healed at times, it will erupt on the same area a couple of weeks later. It is as though the mask helps to suppress it to a certain extent but without clearing out the roots hence it is actually still hovering beneath the skin, waiting for the chance to get out again.

Note that this is highly recommended for oily skin as it can be pretty drying. As the name claimed, I am using it as an emergency mask that is, when I have a breakout, so I do not use it every week.
But this mask is not a permanent solution, as far as my skin is concerned because the same zit will still surface up several weeks later.

I bought this from Cosway, via a colleague who is a member of Cosway. With the widely touted caviar in it, I have high expectations on it since I have been trying various eye creams without any significant results to boot.

This is a light and non-greasy white coloured eye cream. It glides and spreads easily on the under eye area hence you do not need to apply too much. There is not much scent and is a soothing treat for the eyes.
But for people like me who needs to treat the under eye area concerns, this is too mild for my liking.
Would I buy it again? No.

Review on Moisture Eye Mask Deep Ocean Water

Formulated by Ja Chang Co. in Taiwan exclusively for Watsons, this box of eye masks which contained 3 pairs are available in Taiwan Watsons. I picked them up when I was there last year.

Using deep sea water as one of its ingredients, it claimed to be able to provide 24hours of non stop moisture to the dry under eye area. Collagen is also listed as one of their ingredients which is supposed to firm up the under eye area.

Each pair of cresent-shaped eye masks is latched on to a transparent tray which is soaked with essence.
There is a slight scent but none too overpowering.
The eye patches are pretty wet and you can layer on the eyes up to 1 hour and its still wet.
However, I see no improvement to my under eye area. It does feel moisturised but thats about it as the effects did not last till the next morning.

I love their thoughtfulness which is apparent on all their products. On each product, its indicated as Step 1, Step 2 or Step 3, depending on what you are using.

 
Cleanser would fall under the Category of Step 1 as its the first step of cleansing. Their functions are also indicated on every bottle. 
For the cleanser, their functions would be indicated as Cleanse/Tone, hence for this serum product, its indicated as Treat/Repair. 

The hydrating serum is a sticky clear gel which look and feel oily. The scent is also quite terrible, it reminded me of glue.

Even though the gel dries up pretty fast after application but my face feels sticky thereafter.
It was slightly better after 5 to 10 minutes though there is still a slight stickiness. Standing in front of the fan does not seem to help much. After I followed up with my moisturizer, it gets even more sticky. Urgh.

Pertaining to their hydrating ability, I would say that its pretty good. The initial flaking skin near my nose was gone the next morning after I applied this before bed. Subsequent usage of the serum made my skin feels hydrated, however on the third day, I noticed a pimple on my chin.

I cannot confirm if its due to this serum or because of my approaching menses. Other than this, I also developed 2 tiny flesh coloured bumps on the right cheek. It seems like Milia. ( known as little balls of protein trapped within the skin ) I am quite upset and hope that it goes away soon.

According to this source , milia are keratin-filled cysts, or simply little globs of protein under the skin. There are generally two types of milia. Primary milia may result from oil glands that have not fully or properly developed. Secondary milia result from trauma to the skin.

I do not quite like the stickiness and the fact that its not oil-free.

Would I buy this again? Perhaps.
I think it would be good as a spot treatment, to hydrate only the required areas because it seems to be too oily if I used it for the whole face

Review on Skin Food Snow Tea Mask Sheet

Product Description :
A skin-brightening facial mask sheet enriched with snow tea, drunk exclusively by Chinese emperors, with extracts of licorice and cucumber, making skin clear and radiant.

As with most of the Skin Food masks, the cut-out area for the eyes, nose and lips are pretty large which looks pretty silly on my face.
Heavily scented, there was a slight tingling effect for the initial 5 to 10mins before it disappeared. Its very wet and I feel that my whole face is enveloped in this heavily scented mask.
I could see an immediate brightening effect after removing the mask. The most visible difference is on my nose. The nose area looks brighter and fairer which made the blackheads on the nose looks especially annoying since its more obvious due to the stark contrast.

Would I buy it again?
No, as the heavy scent is a turn-off.

I am using this on an on-off basis because compared to most scrubs that I have, this scrub impresses me the least. I bought this because of its Vitamin E ingredient which is famous for its antioxidant properties.

However, I hardly see any improvement in my skin tone.

Using creamy texture products usually leave me with an unclean feeling even after rinsing with water so I do not really like such creamy products.

My skin does feel slightly smoother but compared with other scrubs, this is still a long way off.

How To Get Rid Of Neck Wrinkles

Neck wrinkles are often the first signs of skin aging. Even if you have a flawless wrinkle free face – saggy skin and neck wrinkles make you look much older than you are .

The strange thing is that many of us spend time and money cleansing, toning and moisturizing our faces and stop at the jaw line leaving our neck and decollete to look after itself.

The neck area has some of the thinnest skin on our bodies and is exposed most of the time to damaging UVA and UVB rays – and yet we so often leave it unprotected.

And as we age so the problem gets worse. Aging can cause the neck area to sag – gravity kicks in and pulls the skin downward. The support system is compromised, leaving the neck area loose and wrinkly.

We tend to lose fat in the neck area as we get older. It’s this lack of fat as well as weakened muscles that creates the saggy skin and banding around the neck – the look cruelly described as “turkey neck”.

The bust or decollete is another neglected zone and similarly prone to skin aging. The same problem of thin skin and UV exposure creates the crepey looking skin which can be so aging.
As in everything – genes play a part in how good your neck will look as you age. Not something you can do too much about. But if the look of your neck worries you and you want to resist further saggy skin and neck wrinkles – here’s ten practical tips.

1) Treat your neck as if it’s your face – don’t stop at the jaw line. Extend your anti aging skin care regimen to your neck and bust area and do it every day morning and night.

2) Wear sunscreen every day on your neck or any part of your throat and decollete exposed to the light or to harsh weather conditions. Take it down below the level of clothes you will be wearing and don’t forget the back of the neck if you have short hair. 3) Buy a special neck cream to rejuvenate the skin and to tighten and lift the whole neck and throat area. Many anti aging creams may be too heavy for the delicate neck area and may pull and drag the skin more.

4) Apply your neck cream with both hands using light upward strokes towards the chin. Avoid dragging or pulling the skin.

5) Treat hyperpigmentation with a serum for the neck and decollete to lighten skin, boost radiance and even out skin tone

6) If you smoke – give up. Smoking destroys collagen and robs the skin of oxygen. The thinnest skin suffers first and the skin on your decollete and neck will become crepey and lined more quickly.

7) Improve your diet and build in more antioxidant rich foods and essential fatty acids. Take an anti aging supplement to boost nutrients you may lack like Omega 3’s, vitamin C and vitamin E.

8) Take more exercise to build muscle tone and improve oxygen and nutrient delivery to skin cells.

Here are some recommended exercises:

- To correct a droopy chin, a weak jaw, or a wrinkled neck, place the tip of your tongue on the roof of your mouth as far back as it will go; your chin, jaw, throat, and neck will tighten automatically. Repeat several times.

- To firm your chin, neck, and throat, stretch your chin up high and thrust it forward, hard; at the same time, pull your head back as far as you can. Repeat this forward and backward motion several times. For a firming exercise you can do anywhere, turn your head to the left, touch your chin to your shoulder, turn your head back to center, and repeat the process to the right. Repeat several times.

- To help eliminate a double chin, point your chin toward the ceiling. With your mouth closed, stick out your lower jaw as far as possible until you can feel the tendons in your neck stretch. Hold this position for a slow count of 10; repeat three times. This exercise also smooths out neck wrinkles and strengthens a weak jaw.

10) Pay attention to your posture. The way you walk, sit and stand can make neck wrinkles and a double chin worse. Do you often have your head down allowing your neck to settle into wrinkles? Computer or laptop usage is notorious for this – check the position of your computer and adjust it so you don’t have to look down. Walk tall and straight as if your body is being pulled up by an invisible string from the top of your head.

If you have been guilty of ignoring your neck in the past – and who hasn’t – give it some tender loving care now. Your neck will respond to treatment and neck wrinkles and saggy skin will improve more quickly than you think.

Does Drinking Water Hydrate Dry Skin?

I believe this is a topic which have been debated widely as there were conflicting views by leading dermatologists.

According to Real Simple,
“Humans aren’t like plants. Our skin doesn’t perk up when we consume water,” says Katie Rodan, a dermatologist in the San Francisco Bay area. In fact, when you ingest it, “water doesn’t go straight to the skin,” she says. “It goes through the intestines, gets absorbed into your bloodstream, and is filtered by kidneys. Then it hydrates cells.” When it comes to moisturizing skin, drinking water falls short.

Your skin type, whether it’s dry, oily, or a veritable combo platter, is largely determined by your genes. That natural moisture level then fluctuates depending on what your skin’s protective lipid barrier is exposed to. This lipid layer helps keep moisture in and germs and irritants out. (That’s why dry skin can become red and itchy.)

Minimizing your exposure to depleting elements like low humidity, harsh winds, dry heat, high altitude, sun, alcohol, long baths and avoiding stripping soaps can prevent the loss of natural oils. “Diet can play a role in strengthening your skin’s ability to maintain moisture, too,” says Leslie Baumann, a professor of dermatology at the University of Miami, in Florida.

Foods rich in the essential fatty acids found in walnuts, flaxseed, salmon, and olive oil can help skin cells stay hydrated. A study by the Institute of Experimental Dermatology, in Germany, also revealed that women who took flaxseed- or borage-oil supplements (2.2 grams a day) for 12 weeks experienced a significant increase in skin moisture and a reduction in roughness. A healthy diet with three to five servings a week of fatty acids will suffice for the average person, says Baumann. But if you suffer from very dry skin or eczema, consider flaxseed-, evening-primrose–, or borage-oil supplements. All are good sources of alpha or gamma linolenic fatty acids.

A good moisturizer is best at instantly improving the look and feel of dry skin, and applying one twice a day can help heal serious dehydration.
"A quarter-size dollop of lotion will do much more for your skin than drinking a quart of water,” says Rodan.

As agreed by Dermablog and Howstuffworks, they believe that drinking water to hydrate the skin is just a myth, as no study has ever shown regular water has any impact on your skin and no controlled study has ever shown that any type of drinking water has an effect on your skin.

However, in another souce such as SimplyAntiAging , some respected dermatologists believes that hydration is essential to younger looking skin and drinking water is vital to the process.

In any case, I have the same belief as Purelogicol, I will still continue to drink water throughout the day, eat more fresh fruit and vegetables, drink fruit juice or milk for extra water, take flaxseed or evening primrose oil or glucosamine supplements, which helps to hold the moisture in the skin cells and of course to use good skin care products, including a daily moisturiser.

Review on Luke Collagen Hydrogel Eye Patch

Claims :

The patch offers intense hydration and relaxation to your tired eyes and deliver nutrients to your undernourished eye area.

- Vitamin C (also known as Ascorbyl Palmitate) helps in collagen reproduction and removes wrinkles
- Vitamin E (also known as Tocopheryl Acetate) provides powerful antioxidant effects

The cresent shaped patches are individually packed in a box of 5 pairs and is greenish tinted. It uses a transdermal delivery system to release the nutrients from the dry foamy patch to the skin.
Although its made in Korea, I actually bought it from Taiwan. Its widely available in their convenience stores or Watsons. As usual, I was caught on by their marketing word "Collagen" and since it was quite affordable, I decided to give it a try.

The scent is quite pleasant and the under eye area feels pretty cooling however I do not see any improvement. Its going straight into the bin.
