Review : Skin Food Beauty In A Food Mask, Propolis & Bee Venom

Product Description
Beauty In A Food Mask containing Propolis and Bee Venom is a moisturising mask sheet that enhances skin condition to make it healthy

I purchased 2 sheets of Beauty In A Food Mask with Propolis and Bee Venom from Testerkorea some time back and used it o 2 consecutive nights recently.

Each sheet mask is folded neatly in the yellow packaging, soaked fully with essence. The fragrance is slightly heavy, with a perfumery type of scent which was a bit artificial. Something which I rather do without.

The material is soft and adheres well to skin, with a slightly shorter nose flap though. The mask sheet with Propolis and Bee Venom feels comfortable and nourishing, making me feel that my skin is well-pampered after a day's external pollution and stress.

Skin is left looking well-rested, fresher and clearer after a 30 minute treatment.

Review : Skin Food Beauty In A Food Mask, Bird's Nest

Product Description
Provide rich hydration to dry skin

I have previously bought 2 sheets of Skinfood Beauty In A Food Mask, Bird's Nest from a Korean website for 1000won each. And of course, there's shipping involved for a ton of other products too.

I used 2 sheets on 2 consecutive days recently, just to nourish my skin, after not using masks for more than a week. Just the name - bird's nest makes one feel pampered and nourished so having it in a sheet mask is just another good marketing gimmick especially if it works well.

Similar to the other masks in the same Beauty In A Food mask range, the sheet mask is thin but sturdy yet pretty wet with essence that is creamy and sticky. It adheres well to skin and performs amazingly good with much hydration.
My skin feels soft and plump with moisture but its a temporary measure for the day as my skin turns back to its dehydrated state the following morning.

The full ingredient list can be found here.

Ingredients :
Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Swiftlet Nest Extract, Shea Butter, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Macadamia Intergrifolia Seed Oil, Glyceryl Stearate, Xanthan Gum, PEG-100 Stearate, Sodium Carbomer, Carbomer, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Alcohol, Disodium EDTA, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Cholesterol, Ceramide NP, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, Tocopherol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Fragrance

Review : Skin Food Beauty In A Food Mask, Black Bean

Review for Skin Food Beauty In A Food Mask, Black Bean
Product Description
A beauty food mask sheet, containing black bean extract, provides rich and moist nutrients to make skin firmer

My testerkorea haul earlier this year, includes 2 sheets of the Skin Food Beauty In A Food Mask, Black Bean. The sheet material is thin but is sturdy enough not to be torn easily. It has a slight scent which dissipates after a short while.

While the Black Bean mask adheres well to my skin, but there is a slight gap near the outline of my face and the nose flap is slightly shorter as well.

The milky essence in the mask nourishes my skin well, leaving hydrated, soft and supple skin in its place after 20 minutes. But no apparent firmness though.

The full list of ingredients can be found here.

You can purchase the mask from Amazon. They are pretty affordable as a daily mask sheet.

Review : Skin Food Watery Berry Emulsion

Product Description
Skin Food Watery Berry Emulsion contains 3 berry extracts, Lingon Berry, Artic Berry and Cloud Berry to provide anti-oxidant benefits as well as Hylauronic Acid to hydrate the skin

I received 2 complimentary Skin Food Watery Berry Emulsion sachets from my last TesterKorea purchase, which has provided me 4 days of usages in the morning.

Contrary to the name, Skin Food Watery Berry Emulsion is actually light and runny, with a lotion-like texture instead of a watery texture. It has a heavy scent and the emulsion is absorbed into the skin pretty quickly on its own.

Review : Skin Food Beauty In Food Mask, Rice

Product Description
Skin Food Beauty In A Food Mask contains rice bran water. A beauty food mask sheet that changes dull and dry skin into smooth bright skin

I brought along Skin Food Beauty In A Food Rice Mask to my next trip at Kuantan, shortly after my Australia trip. The mask sheet has a soft thin material and is very moist. It feels comfortable on skin and cutouts are just right for my face shape.

I used 1 sheet in Kuantan and another sheet when I was back in Singapore. Personally, I felt that the effect is more pronounced in Singapore where my skin is smoother after the treatment. Note that I don't sleep in air-conditioned room in Singapore, as compared to air-conditioned hotel rooms in Kuantan.

Ingredients:
Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Oryza Sativa Bran Water, Shea Butter, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Macadamia Intergrifolia Seed Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin, Glyceryl Stearate, Xanthan Gum, PEG-100 Stearate, Sodium Carbomer, Alcohol, Carbomer, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sodium Hyaluronate, Cholesterol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Disodium EDTA, Diacetyl Boldine, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance

Review : Skin Food Pomegranate Collagen Eye Mask

Product Description
A pomegranate extract and collagen infused under eye mask to brighten and promote elasticity for a better complexion

Key Ingredients :
Pomegranate extract, Hydrolyzed collagen, Niacinamide, Adenosine

I had purchased 2 sheets of Skin Food Pomegranate Collagen Eye Mask from testerkorea for 2500 won each and brought it along for my Australia trip.

A clear clampshell tray with 2 eye sheet masks can be found in the packaging. The eye masks are shaped like cresent moons, made with a glooey-like, sticky material.

The Pomegranate Collagen Eye Masks are moist enough to provide a cooling and refreshing sensation without any dripping mess. They adhere well to skin though the eye masks slide down slightly every few minutes so a lie-down while masking would be better.

Unfortunately, other than refreshing the undereye area, to make it look less tired, I did not see any spectacular result to continue further purchase.

Review : Skin Food Everyday Broccoli Facial Mask Sheet

Product Description
A hydrating mask that contains broccoli extract and promotes a healthy glow

Skin Food Everyday Broccoli Facial Mask Sheet consists of a sturdy material with a hint of broccoli scent. It has circular prints on the sheet, unlike the usual plain masks. Large in size, the mask sheet covers slightly to beyond the face and chin area, causing a slight hanging flap which opens up easily.

My skin feels like it is enveloped with moisture right after treatment but skin still turns flaky after several hours later in Australia.

Review : Skin Food Everyday Green Tea Facial Mask Sheet

Product Description
Skin Food Everyday Green Tea Facial Mask Sheet is a 100% pure cotton sheet face mask infused with green tea extract. Nourish your skin with a combination of hydration, minerals and antioxidants. It helps soothe the skin with cooling moisture

Yet another 2 sheets of the Skin Food Everyday Green Tea Facial Mask Sheet which I brought along for my Australia trip. The mask is a slightly larger than normal mask with textured circular prints. The material is sturdy with a subtle green tea scent.

The Everyday Green Tea Facial Mask Sheet covers to slightly below chin where the flap tends to open up easily. It drips slightly but provides a cooling and refreshing sensation on skin. However, the hydration is moderate but not spectacular in 15 ~ 22 degrees weather.
The cooling sensation helps to calm and soothe stressed skin and my skin certainly felt much better after all the walking for the whole day.

Review : Skin Food Everyday Super Nut Facial Mask Sheet

Product Description
A nourishing sheet mask that contains five different nut extracts and transforms dry, rough skin into a soft texture

Key Ingredients :
Walnut extract 22mg
Sweet almond extract 44mg
Macadamia Seed extract 88mg
Coconut extract 66mg
Cashew extract 66mg

Another 2 facial mask sheets that were used on 2 consecutive days in my Aussie trip. I am on an intensive mask regime whenever I travel, because the weather can be quite damaging and I sleep in an air-conditioned hotel. ( I rarely turned on the air-conditioner at home because it is drying to the skin and is too cold for the body which may cause poor blood circulation. I only turn on the air-conditioner when the heat is at its most unbearable state )

Skin Food Everyday Super Nut Facial Mask Sheet has a lovely milky scent. The sturdy mask sheet material is moist and is large enough that covers beyond the chin area.
Moderate performance from the mask as I don't feel that it performs exceptionally well, except that it does make my skin soft and smooth but not exactly as hydrated as I would prefer.

Review : Skin Food Beauty In A Food Ginseng Mask

Product Description
A beauty food mask sheet that moisturizes and nourishes aging skin to make it healthy

With a thin and moist material, Skin Food Beauty In A Food Ginseng Mask adheres well and the cutting is just right for my face shape.

The soothing ginseng scent smells good and feels good for the senses. Skin feels nourished but not overly so. It is good for maintenance but not for emergency use.

Skin Food Beauty In A Food Jeju Tangerine Mask

Product Description
A beauty food mask sheet that provides fresh moisture to dull skin. Contains Jeju Tangerine Peel Extract.

I brought along 2 sheets of the Beauty In A Food Jeju Tangerine Mask to my recent Sydney trip and used it on 2 consecutive days. The weather has dipped and is near to the start of winter so hydration is much needed on such days.

The Jeju Tangerine Mask with a thin material texture, has an artificial orange scent. The cut out fits my face shape and adheres well. My skin was moderately hydrated in Sydney weather, although it wasn't impressive enough for me to repeat the purchase.

Ingredients:
Water, Glycerin, Methyl Gluceth-20, Butylene Glycol, Blueberry Fruit Extract, Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract, Betaine, Sodium Carbomer, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Beta-Glucan, Yeast Extract, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Hyaluronate, Witch Hazel Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Fragrance

Skin Food Miracle Food 10 Solution Eye Patch & Mask Sheet

Product Description
It promotes elasticity of skin with PHYTO MIRACLE, a substance that was extracted from 10 Miracle food(Ganoderma, Raspberry Wine, Dark Green Tea, Macchie, Artemisia Capillaris, Spinach, White Ginseng, Quinoa, Honey and Carrot) by ultrasound low temperature sonication, and Miracle food 10 Solution Line, which contains antioxidant oil that was applied with SUBMICRON technology.

A dear friend has helped to get 3 sheets of the Skin Food Miracle Food 10 Solution Eye Patch and Mask Sheet during his Korea trip.

The face mask is enveloped within a stiff plastic mesh sheet with dripping essence when I pulled it out of the packaging hence it can be a tad messy. The eye patches are pasted on a clear plastic sheet in the same packaging but separated hence you need to tear the packaging twice to get the facial mask and the eye patches. The material of the of the face mask is soft and the cuts-out are cut close to the lips area while the nose and eye areas are just alright.

Because the explanation is all in Korean, I don't quite understand how to use the eye patches as they are thin, dry, stretchy and get tangled up easily.
In the first sheet, the eye patches melted hence I can't use it. With the second sheet, I layered the eye patches, after removing the face mask so it felt strange to be layering a dry thin patch on the undereye area, not knowing what it does.

I only came to my senses with my 3rd mask, as I layered the eye patches first, followed by the face mask. Indeed, the eye patches, made up of 10.77% of Tocopheryl Acetate melted together with the essence from the mask sheet.
Skin feels hydrated, pampered, soft and smooth.

Review : Skin Food Blanc Pearl Caviar Cream Mask

Product Description
A cream sheet mask that contains pearl extract and white complex along with the extract of caviar, one of the world's top 3 delicacies.

Skin Food Blanc Pearl Caviar Cream Mask enveloped within a protective mesh layer is heavily fragranced. The cutting of the sheet mask fits well and adheres well to skin.

Soaked in a creamy serum that promotes soft and glowing skin, each treatment left a thin layer of milky essence on skin which requires rinsing. I brought it along for my China trip to combat the winter weather and it works well. My skin feels soft, smooth and moisturized.

Skin Food Watery Berry Ampoule + Essence Mask Sheet

Skin Food Mask Sheet

Product Description
A 2-step program that consists of an ampoule and sheet mask. Berry extracts and sodium hyaluronate promote soft glowing skin.

* Remarkable moisture supply effect
* Gel type mask of rich moisture effect
* Penetrates deep for glowing skin
* Moisture type with a light finish
* Berry extract and Hyaluronic acid

I requested a friend to get 3 sheets of the mask sheets for me when she was in Korea. It consists of 2 steps where the first step is to tear the 2.5ml sachet as an ampoule essence application.
The essence has a watery gel consistency but is heavily scented. It applies easily on the skin and before it dries up, I am supposed to layer the sheet mask as the 2nd step.

The sheet mask adheres well, with a just-right cutting that fits my face shape. The mask hydrates well but is not recommended to layer it for more than 15 minutes as it will cause your skin to turn drier with a taut feeling.

If used correctly, it hydrates well but doesn't last till the next morning. Shop Skinfood Watery Berry Ampoule + Essence Mask Sheet on Amazon

Review : Skin Food Salmon Dark Circle Powder

Product Description
An instant brightening powder, it is rich in omega-3 fatty acid, vitamins A and E with Nano-coating, to lighten dark eye circles.

At 2.5g, it has taken me ages to even create a dent in it because you only needs a tiny amount for the undereye area. The product comes in a cute pot with a filter between the puff and the powder.

Peach in colour, it blends in well with my skin colour and has a sheer coverage. Using it on top of a concealer, this product helps to minimize my dark circles but not significantly. If your undereye area is dry like mine, I felt that the dark circle powder creases slightly into the fine lines.

Review : Skin Food Glacier Water Mask Sheet

Product Description
A cotton sheet mask that helps tone and soothe skin with glacier water in a lightweight, yet hydrating serum.  Pure glacier water is naturally alkalescent and enriched with oxygen, pottasium, calcium, magnesium and other beneficial minerals.

Its amazing how Korea brands are always formulating new sheet masks to keep beauty addicts like me, to keep trying them out. My skin has been in a bad phase recently, probably due to the up-coming menses.
My skin is dehydrated with rough surface, yet oily enough to sprout out zits one after another. I am trying to combat both issues during this period, as well as trying to recover from a running nose. The harsh air-conditioning in the office is the sole culprit.

Made of sturdy material, the cut-out area at the lips area is pretty small, making it an uncomfy fit. The mask stings on the zits-affected areas for about 5 minutes after layering it, but disappeared thereafter.
After a good 15minutes mask treatment, the rough areas were much minimized and my skin feels smoother and more supple. The light redness on my skin subsided and my overall skin looks rested.
However, barely 5 minutes later, my skin feels tighter.

Review : Skin Food Acai Berry Mask

Product Description
Acai Berry Mask pack is a soft jelly texture that can be easily absorbed by the skin. It contains an ample amount of vitamin C and antioxidants that hydrate intensively from within and combat premature aging skin.

Benefits:
  • Moisturizes
  • Nourishes
  • Anti-oxidant
  • Radiates
  • Stabilizes Collagen
I like the cute packaging on this mask pack which is shown as above, which resembles like a jar of jam or honey. It looks and feels almost edible.
Recommended to be used on damp skin, this mask pack has a soft jelly texture which is a joy to be massaged on the skin easily due to its nitty-gritty granules. I treat it as an exfoliating mask scrub.

It left my skin feeling soft, supple and smooth to the touch. However, at times, this exfoliating scrub mask may feel a tad rough on delicate dehydrated skin and may turns red. It did not hydrate my skin sufficiently so I like to follow up with a hydrating mask after using this mask pack. Best to use on optimal skin condition.

Review : Skin Food Black Sugar Wash Off Mask

Product Description
Enriched with minerals and vitamins, this face scrub effectively exfoliates dead skin and revitalize skin.

The sachet provided 3 usages and it has been a pleasant experience. Black in colour, the granules seemed rough but did not irritate my sensitive skin. It has a soft warm sensation with a thick glooey texture that matches a brown sugar scent.

Immediately after a good massage on the face, my skin turned soft and smooth. Pores on my nose are cleaner for up to 2 days before all the blackheads attack it again.

Review : Skin Food Salmon Eye Patch

Product Description
Intensive eye treatment innovatively formulated to penetrate deeply to moisturize and brighten the eye area without any sticky feel. Easy for travel.

This range of eyecare is highly marked up in Singapore. I have used their brightening eye massage serum previously, which was ineffective to alleviate my undereye circles.
A box of these eye patches, containing 8 pairs of eye masks retails for ~$20 in Korea but costs $70 in Singapore. *gasps*

The box is pretty presentable, and housed 8 individual packed sheets. It feels like you are opening a gift box, each time you want to take out a pair of eye masks.
Each pair of eye masks is packaged in a clear plastic tray, layered with several protective sheets inbetween. The patches are jelly-like and provides a comforting cooling sensation when layered on undereye area.

There is hardly any scent and the size is generous enough to cover most of my undereye area. It is slightly sticky to adhere well to the skin without any slipping.
When you first layered it on, the mask sheet feels plumped, and after the stipulated 15 to 20minutes of usage, you can feel that the mask is flatter, which probably meant that the essence has been absorbed into the skin.

Even though my dark circles were not gone, but the fine lines were minimized and the eyes feel rested Note that eye mask is just a temporary measure, proper maintenance is still essential.

I wear spectacles on a daily basis and on days when I like to be specs-free, I use an eye mask prior to skincare application, before donning on my contacts and off I go.

Review : Skin Food Shea Butter Foot Mask

Product Description
Treat your feet to a relaxing foot spa rich with vitamin A and E! This unique foot mask shaped to fully cover your entire foot. It softens thick, hard calluses while protecting moisture from evaporation, for a smoother and healthier appearance. Comes in a pair.

Feet, being worked the hardest is usually the most neglected of all. Wearing open-toed sandals can make the soles dry and the heels hard and crackled. Seriously, an ugly sight but no one seems to care.

I admit that I used to be one of those who don't care but I have since improve on it, and tried to scrub the heels and soles with my body scrub and condition my soles before wearing socks to sleep, whenever I can. So at times like this, I like to wear a foot mask for 20minutes before sealing it with a foot moisturiser.

And thats how the Korean Foot Mask comes into play.
Shea butter in hand creams doesn't work well for my dry hands but it works well on my feet. If you have severely dry, hardened, crackled, wrinkled heels, this foot mask probably may not suit you. You need to get rid of all the dead skin and hard calluses first, before you can actually see the effect of the mask on your softened heels.

Similar to the Tony Moly Bergamot Foot Mask, it comes in a 2 plastic sheets that are shaped for the feet. It has a inner lining which are moist enough for the feet to feel moisturised as you slipped them in for the next 20minutes. The gap at the calves are similarly wide as the Tony Moly Bergamot Foot mask. In fact I don't see a difference between both foot masks, except for the scent.

However, this shea butter foot mask did leave my soles and heels softened and more moisturised than before the application.
The immediate after-feel after removing the mask, is the greasy and slippery texture on the soles, so be careful while walking. I usually do the treatment just before I hit the bed. Remove the foot masks and tuck in bed!
