EO French Lavender Shower Gel is a relaxing, lavender body wash that contains gentle coconut cleanser and organic botanical extracts. Soothing lavender pure essential oil helps create a sense of calm.

I have a soft spot for EO products which stands for Essential Oils. Relaxing and calming, their body washes make a good relaxing shower time morning or night. You can check out the range of EO body washes I have reviewed before. 

When my shower washes ran out, I lurked around Iherb, looking for new body washes and EO French Lavender Shower Gel comes to mind. 

Packaging, Scent and Texture

EO French Lavender Shower Gel  is housed in a 473ml blue tinted plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. The shower gel scented with Lavender was such a joy and I looked forward to using it everyday. 

Performance and Ingredients

No regrets in purchasing this as I loved it so much. It lathers lightly, smells great and is never drying. 

The beautiful floral scent of Lavender pure essential oil relaxes and soothes the senses with every use.

This gentle and nourishing body wash formula is made with gentle coconut-derived cleansers, organic botanical extracts like Fig + Hop, and beautifully scented with pure essential oils.

There was no harsh detergents, no parabens, no phthalates, no synthetic fragrance, and no dyes. It is also vegan and cruelty free, GMO free, gluten free, polysorbate free, and disodium EDTA free.

I chanced upon Crazy Skin Beer Yeast Hair Shampoo while shopping on Iherb and the positive reviews drew me in. 

Beer shampoo is said to be the real secret of how to get shiny, more manageable, soft and healthy hair as it improves luster, shine, condition and softness, making it more manageable, helps prevent dry scalp and removes dandruff. ​With properties such as phosphorus, copper, magnesium and all of the B vitamins, beer is the ultimate hair care ingredient! 

The study of beer yeast began in the 1970s from Germany, noting that German beer factory workers had rich and smooth hair. Crazy Skin Beers Hair Care products are made with real beer yeast sourced from Germany. It promotes hair to be fuller and thicker with rich nutrients.

I purchased Crazy Skin Beer Yeast Hair Shampoo in a 100ml size that comes in a plastic bottle with a flick top cap. The amber-coloured gel-like contents smell pretty good and lather well. 

Performance and Ingredients

Made in Korea, this Beer Yeast Hair Shampoo cleanses and refreshes the scalp and hair. It contains German beer yeast rich in vitamin B, other vitamins, and amino acids to nourish the hair and impart a natural shine. 

Enriched with biotin, selenium, and plant-protein that promote fuller and thicker hair growth, the coconut-derived cleansers gently clear the scalp of dirt and buildup, while the 17 natural extracts make this beer shampoo a perfect anti-hair loss remedy. It is chemical-free and has a pH of 5.5 to protect the scalp and hair.

I enjoyed using the gentle shampoo with its sweet scent, easy lathering for foaming action and effective cleansing. However, I have not see a difference to reduced hair loss symptoms, improved thinning hair loss or thicker and fuller hair. 

In terms of ingredients, Crazy Skin Beer Yeast Hair Shampoo contains the following...

TCM : Known to stimulate hair follicles and nerves to prevent hair loss. 

Greenol ( Herb Complex ) : Herb complex consisting of Lavender, Bergamot, Freesia, Peppermint, Chamomile and Rosemary, it soothes and protects sensitive scalp to shield hair follicles from slowing or stopping hair growth. 

Naturally derived surfactants : Removes dirt and oil without drying out your hair, irritating scalp.

Conclusion

To conclude, Crazy Skin Beer Yeast Hair Shampoo is a gentle shampoo for clean hair. It smells great and lathers well but I have yet to see a difference beyond that.

[ Review ] Empire Australia Soothing Sea Salt Body Scrub ( Eucalyptus )

 

Product Description

Wonderfully fragrant and leaves your skin feeling soft and fresh! Includes eucalyptus essential oil, soy bean oil and crunchy, natural sea salt for effective exfoliation of dead skin.

I purchased Empire Australia Soothing Sea Salt Body Scrub ( Eucalyptus ) together with Empire Australia Organic Sea Salt & Coconut Oil Body Scrub on Singsale last year. 

To me, body exfoliation is much needed in a shower routine for smoother skin, minimizing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, brighten skin and make it look firmer. Are you incorporating body scrubs into your routine too? 

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Made in Melbourne, Australia, Empire Australia Soothing Sea Salt Body Scrub ( Eucalyptus ) is housed in a 500g tub with a subtle musty scent that hardly smells like Eucalyptus. 

Being a salt-based scrub, the granules can be slightly abrasive for some. 

Directions for Use : 

1) Lightly dampen your skin prior to applying the scrub.

2) Massage firmly all over body paying particular attention to elbows, knees and feet. 

Tip : This can be quite messy so best done in the shower.

Performance and Ingredients

Unfortunately, I did not enjoy this sea salt body scrub at all. The oils are concentrated more at the bottom and the top is drier than the bottom, leading to the initial exfoliation being "rough" and abrasive. A stir is much recommended for such scrubs to infuse both wet and dry contents. 

Once you reached the bottom of the tub, the sea salt scrub would be slightly wetter and much sticky, leading to my body being sticky as well. Definitely not an experience I enjoyed.

And when the sticky granules rolled onto the bathroom floor and you happened to step on them, like I did, my soles would become extremely sticky like adhesive. 

Overall, while the exfoliation left my skin soft and smooth but the latter part of the scrub left me with  sticky skin as well. 

INGREDIENTS: SEA SALT, SODIUM CHLORIDE, GLYCINE SOJA (SOYBEAN) OIL, EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS (EUCALYPTUS) OIL, LIMONENE, LINALOOL, CITRAL.

Conclusion

To conclude, Empire Australia Soothing Sea Salt Body Scrub ( Eucalyptus ) gave rise to smoother skin but its either abrasive or sticky, depending on which part of the tub you are using. Not something I would repurchase.

For now, the best body scrubs for me would be Giovanni Hot Chocolate Sugar Scrub and Origins Smoothing Ginger Body Scrub.

My recent cleansing milks ( Dr. Lewinns Private Formula Sensitive Cleansing Milk, Sioris Cleanse Me Softly Milk Cleanser and Eucerin DermatoCLEAN [HYALURON] Cleansing Milk ) have been such joyful cleansing experiences that I had been looking around for more new brands to add to my stash. 

I came across this new cleansing milk, Dr. Wu Mild O Gentle Cleansing Milk in Watsons and was intrigued. I had previously tried Dr. Wu Daily Renewal Serum With Mandelic Acid 8% and Dr. Wu Soothing Moisture Capsule Mask and was keen to try more from Dr. Wu.

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Dr. Wu Mild O Gentle Cleansing Milk is housed in a 200ml bottle with a pump dispenser. The cleansing milk is lightweight, runny and cleanses well. It has a mild natural scent. 

How To Use : 

1) Apply appropriate amount to dry face. 

2) Gentle and smooth circular movement to dissolve makeup and impurities for 30s to 60s.

3) Tissue off and rinse thoroughly with warm, clean water.

Performance and Ingredients

Made in Taiwan, Dr. Wu Mild O Gentle Cleansing Milk uses a gentle, low sensitivity, soap-free formula to maintain skin's PH level whilst removing makeup and dirt effectively. 

The cleansing formula prevents sebum accumulation and clogged pores, prevent the hyperplasia of keratin to stop the formation of comedones and helps to maintain the balance of skin to improve skin's immunity and reduce skin sensitivity. 

Initially, I was disappointed with its runny milky texture but has now grown to appreciate how gentle it was, on my skin. I usually prefer creamy milky cleansers but nowadays, I am more receptive towards light and runny milky textures. 

This refreshing milky cleanser does not left my skin greasy, sticky or tight on most days. Just effective and clean skin. However, on some days, there was a subtle taut sensation after cleansing which happened randomly. 

Note that I use this as a regular cleanser, not as a makeup remover, so I can't attest how effective it is, on removing makeup.

To conclude, Dr. Wu Mild O Gentle Cleansing Milk has been a surprising gem. I love how gentle and effective it was, as a second cleanse, however on some days, it does left a subtle taut sensation, hence it won't be a repurchase.
