Product Description
Eucerin DermatoCLEAN [HYALURON] Cleansing Milk is a mild but effective hydrating cleansing milk that removes impurities and make-up without drying out skin. Suitable for daily use and for sensitive skin.
If you are a regular reader of my blog, you would know that I am a big fan of cleansing milks due to my sensitive, combination-dehydrated skin. I came across Eucerin DermatoCLEAN [HYALURON] Cleansing Milk when there was a 1 for 1 promotion in Guardian, so it was a great chance for me to try them out.
Hailing from Germany, Eucerin has been dedicating to pharmaceutical grade skincare science for over 100 years with a commitment to developing effective, highly tolerable and clinically proven solutions. You can read more about their background on their website.
Packaging, Scent and Texture
Eucerin DermatoCLEAN [HYALURON] Cleansing Milk is housed in a 200ml pump bottle ( with a lock-twist mechanism ) that dispenses the runny white cleansing milk effortlessly. The texture is lightweight that feels more like a lotion and it has a naturally-occurring scent.
How To Use :
1) Apply to your face, neck and décolleté using your fingertips or a cotton wool pad
2) Wipe away gently using a cotton wool pad or, if you prefer, rinse off with warm water
Performance and Ingredients
An ideal daily cleanser for dry skin, Eucerin DermatoCLEAN [HYALURON] Cleansing Milk is clinically and dermatologically proven to be suitable for sensitive skin. This mild but effective facial cleanser is fragrance-free and alcohol-free and helps remove impurities and make-up without drying out skin.
It is a gentle cleansing milk which I use as a regular cleanser on most days. Sometimes, I will use the cleansing milk twice, to act as a makeup remover to cleanse my sunscreen and light makeup. I can't attest to its effectiveness on heavier face and eye makeup as I have not been using them during the mandatory mask-wearing period.
This is great for sensitive skin and I have not experience any tightness or irritation so far. It left my skin feeling clean and soft. While I usually prefer creamy cleansing milk and was slightly disappointed with its runny and lightweight texture during my initial use, I have grown accustomed to it during my 2 months of usage.
The soothing cleansing milk combines an extra mild cleansing complex with Hyaluronic Acid and other nature-derived moisturizing ingredients to help skin maintain its natural moisture balance. The formula soothes, moisturizes and does not dry out the skin.
In terms of ingredients, Eucerin DermatoCLEAN [HYALURON] Cleansing Milk contains the following key ingredients....
Hyaluronic Acid : Hyaluronic Acid is formed by skin cells and is part of the connective tissue of the skin. One of its key functions is to retain moisture, and it has the ability to bind in between 1,000 and 10,000 times its own weight in water (i.e. one gram binds between one and ten liters). As we age, the skin's natural ability to produce Hyaluronic Acid depletes and wrinkles start to form and deepen.
Glyco-glycerol : Gluco-Glycerol (also known as Glyceryl Glucoside) is a nature-identical combination of glycerol and glucose. Used by blue-green algae to ensure their survival for 3.5 billion years, Gluco-Glycerol has been proven to stimulate the creation of Aquaporin 3 (AQP3) in human skin cells, thus increasing the number of aquaporins. Aquaporins control water transfer into and out of the cells. The more AQP3’s there are, the better the distribution of moisture within the deeper layers of skin.
By stimulating skin’s own water system, Gluco-Glycerol helps to moisture skin and improve its barrier function.
APG Complex : APG Complex (short for Alkylpolyglucoside) is an extra mild cleanser. The `G` stands for Glucoside, which is a nature-derived surfactant. Surfactants are the active ingredients in cleansers that enable them to clean the skin by solving and removing impurities. There are several different types of surfactant widely used in skin cleaning products. Anionic (negatively charged) surfactants are often used because of their great foaming properties, but Glucoside (which is non-ionic, with no charge) is proven to be particularly gentle on the skin.
Aqua, Glycerin, Isopropyl Palmitate, Cetearyl Alcohol, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Caprylic-Capric-Triglyceride, Octyldodecanol, Glyceryl Glucoside, Cetearyl Isononanoate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Decyl Glucoside, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Carbomer, Trisodium EDTA, Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate, Ethylparaben, 1-2-Hexanediol, Phenoxyethanol, Piroctone Olamine, Potassium Sorbate
Conclusion
To conclude, Eucerin DermatoCLEAN [HYALURON] Cleansing Milk is a mild and gentle cleansing milk, suitable for dry skin, as a cleanser and makeup remover.
