Product Description
Reactivates skin cells and a natural solution for skin dullness, dryness and uneven texture. A natural blend of matcha, sea salt, oils and vitamins leaves your skin soft and hydrated. Smells of refreshing bergamot. Rub a handful of scrub on your skin and let it work wonders from the outside in.
I am a matcha fan and so when I chanced upon Twig and Co Matcha Scrub, it was inevitable that I would purchase this, together with the Coffee Scrub. The Matcha Scrub uses salt while the Twig and Co Coffee Scrub uses pink salt and brown sugar as part of their exfoliation. However, the Matcha Scrub is pretty much abrasive and is not really suitable for those with sensitive and delicate skin.
It has a hint of matcha fragrance and is housed in a pretty and elegant clear glass jar that can be reused. There is a white label ( the kind you find in Popular or any stationery store ) pasted on the bottom of the jar which indicates the expiry date but unfortunately, placing it in my bathroom meant the wetness tends to peel away that label, so you end up having some white debris stuck on the jar.
Each jar only contains 100ml contents so for those who used it on a twice weekly basis, you may deplete it pretty quickly. However, I don't use it that frequently due to its abrasive nature hence the jar can still last me for slightly more than a month.
Twig and Co Matcha Scrub contains granules like salt to provide a good exfoliation for the skin. The contents are slightly moist and left a light moisturising veil after each exfoliation session. While I really like the super smooth skin thereafter, I don't really enjoy using the scrub as it hurts. That said, every one's skin is different so you may have an easier time than me.
In terms of ingredients, as the name implies, the matcha scrub contains green tea, which has high level of antioxidants, prevents UV-induced oxidation of free radicals, detoxes, improves skin elasticity, helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and reduces the symptoms of skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema. I would like to think that drinking green tea would be much more beneficial for the body, but it never hurts to get some goodness from our body products too.
However, I really wouldn't use any salt based scrub on eczema skin, I can just imagine how much it would hurts but I know there are many deep sea salt scrubs which claim otherwise. If you have somehow heal your skin through such scrubs, please drop me a comment, I would like to know more, because there are many friends around me who have been battling with eczema. Thankfully, I have kept my eczema under control by moisturizing my skin on a regular basis and avoiding my trigger points.
In conclusion, Twig and Co Matcha Scrub has a subtle lovely matcha scent and makes my skin much smoother. I also like the natural ingredients but unfortunately, the scrub can be a tad too abrasive so I only use it when I think my skin is in need of a thorough scrub.

Product Description
Cellulite busting and stretch marks fading body scrub. A natural blend of coffee, oils and vitamins give you the best exfoliation of your life. Smells of amazing cup of joe.
This all-natural body scrub exfoliates and nourishes to give you healthy and smooth skin. It rejuvenates the skin and stimulates blood circulation, while targeting skin problems such as acne, cellulite, eczema, psoriasis and stretch marks. The blend of minerals and oils is naturally rich in Vitamin E, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-bacterial and hydrating properties. Rub a handful of scrub on your skin and let it work wonders from the outside in.
I first chanced upon Twig and Co. Coffee Scrub on Naiise when there was a 20% discount promotion. Coffee scrub always appeal to me because even though I don't drink coffee, I love the aroma of coffee grounds.
Made in Singapore, Twig and Co. is an artisan line of small-batch, handcrafted organic beauty products and home basics. Handcrafted in Singapore and concocted with natural ingredients, sustainably sourced from Europe, Japan and the United States.
Twig and Co. Coffee Scrub comes in a simple and minimalistic glass jar which can be reused which is a good eco-friendly initiative. However, the opening is rather narrow, even for my small hands, hence when I scoop up the contents, some of the contents tend to spill.
The scrub has a strong and robust flavour of coffee which I adored but the coffee scrubs were rather dry hence the texture may come across as slightly coarse and abrasive, for those with sensitive skin.
Due to the dry texture, the coffee scrubs would dribble down onto the floor as you scrub on the body so there may be some wastage unintentionally. And like all other coffee scrubs, they tend to make a mess on the bathroom floor.
The massaging of the coffee grounds left my skin feeling slightly smoother and non-drying although I think it would be better to include more oils in the concoction so that the contents would not be so dry. And at 70ml size, its considered a quite a small portion as a body scrub since technically, we used up quite alot for the body. In fact, I used up all contents within 2-3 weeks.
Strangely, there was no batch code on the jar and no expiry date stated so freshness period would be a concern.
Ingredients:
Coffea Robusta Seed Powder (Virgin roasted and fresh coffee grounds), Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond Oil), Sodium Chloride (Himalayan Pink Salt), Sucrose (Brown Sugar), Tocopherol (Vitamin E Oil)
