WHERE TO BUY : Shopee SG

I have previously purchased Sigi Skin Daylight Oasis Vitamin C Brightening Serum and Sigi Skin Tea-Tox Sheet Mask alongside the Sigi Skin Hydrating Morning Glow Physical Sunscreen. I am currently using its Blissful Radiance Hydrating Anti-Acne Serum which I plan to review in the coming months, once I emptied it.

Physical sunscreens, also known as mineral sunscreens have become a staple in modern skincare, especially for those seeking gentle yet effective sun protection. Unlike chemical filters, mineral sunscreens use active ingredients like Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide to reflect and scatter UV radiation.

Studies published in journals such as Photodermatology, Photoimmunology & Photomedicine and The Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology have shown that zinc oxide provides broad-spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays while being less likely to cause skin irritation, making it ideal for sensitive or acne-prone skin. Additionally, research highlights that physical sunscreens begin working immediately upon application and are more photostable, meaning they maintain their effectiveness longer under sun exposure.

As someone who prioritizes skin-friendly and reliable sun protection, physical sunscreens are a key part of my skincare routine for morning workouts and long walks in Singapore's intense climate.

Some of my recent physical sunscreens empties were Dermalogica Invisible Physical Defense SPF 30Foretderm Derma Relief Vegan Suncream and Klairs All-day Airy Mineral Sunscreen, all of which I had fully used up.

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Sigi Skin Hydrating Morning Glow Physical Sunscreen Texture

Sigi Skin Hydrating Morning Glow Physical Sunscreen comes in a convenient 50ml squeeze tube, making it travel-friendly and easy to dispense. The formula has a creamy texture that spreads smoothly across the skin, allowing for even application without tugging.

In terms of scent, it carries a subtle blend of lavender and a typical sunscreen note which is noticeable but not overpowering, suiting most users who are not sensitive to fragrance.

As a Singapore skincare brand manufactured in Korea, Sigi Skin products are free from common irritants and controversial ingredients, including parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), DMDM hydantoin, phthalates, mineral oil, retinyl palmitate, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclosan, triclocarban, and polyunsaturated oils (PUFA).

How To Use :
1) Use in the morning as the final step in your skincare routine.
2) Apply liberally, and gently massage into your face using upward motions.

Tip : During summer months, apply more on the high points of the face, such as the nose, cheeks, and forehead.

Performance and Ingredients

As a mineral sunscreen, the Sigi Skin Hydrating Morning Glow Physical Sunscreen uses physical UV filters, which typically come with a white cast. Despite claims of a no white cast finish, this sunscreen does leave a visible white cast upon initial application.

Like many zinc oxide-based sunscreens, it can accentuate dry patches and uneven skin texture, especially if the skin is not properly moisturized beforehand. To minimize the white cast, thorough blending and layering are necessary.

On the positive side, the sunscreen delivers a dewy finish that gives the skin a healthy glow. After about an hour, the initial shine settles into a more natural, subtle dewy finish, making it suitable for those who prefer a luminous look rather than a matte one.

The key ingredients are....

Zinc Oxide & Titanium Dioxide : Physical UV filters that protects from both UVA and UVB rays. Zinc oxide also helps to heal acne and rashes.

4% Niacinamide : Optimal amount that can help in strengthening skin barrier, brightening, improving fine lines, and reduction in hyper-pigmentation.

Avocado Extracts : Has vitamin C and E that can fight free radicals and prevents acne.

Acai Extracts : Anti-inflammatory, treats hyper-pigmentation and acne.

Adenosine : Anti-aging, smoothes out wrinkles.

Ceramide NP : Retains moisture levels and strengthening skin barrier.

Conclusion

To conclude, Sigi Skin Hydrating Morning Glow Physical Sunscreen is a suitable choice for those who prefer a mineral sunscreen with a dewy finish and a cleaner ingredient formulation. While it does leave a noticeable white cast and requires extra blending, it still delivers reliable broad-spectrum sun protection and a healthy, radiant glow.

That said, considering its performance and visible finish, it may not offer the best value for money at this price point, and I personally would not repurchase it. This is my most expensive sunscreen to date.
