Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Strengthening Serum Review
Product Description
Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Strengthening Serum is a slightly milky serum that helps to strengthen the skin on several levels. It supports the regeneration of the skin by restoring the skin barrier and promotes its resistance. Thanks to the innovative BioShield technology - a combination of antioxidants and barrier protection active ingredients - the skin is comprehensively protected against harmful environmental influences such as fine dust and free radicals. At the same time, it strengthens the skin's natural defenses and improves skin elasticity.

Benefits :
-Strengthens skin to resist signs of aging
-Nourishes for more supple skin
-Helps rebuild barrier to improve skin resilience

WHERE TO BUY : Amazon | Shopee SG

I received a complimentary bottle of Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Strengthening Serum when I signed up another facial package with Aster Spring and I started using this serum after emptying The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid Serum and Bondi Sands Thirsty Skin Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum.

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Strengthening Serum comes in a 30ml dropper bottle and has a white, milky appearance. Although the serum is not fragranced, it has Dermalogica's signature herbal-woody spa scent, with notes of geranium, rosewood, eucalyptus, sandalwood, cypress, juniper and fir. The scent is noticeable upon application and lingers for several minutes before fading.

Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Strengthening Serum Texture

The texture is relatively emollient and feels nourishing on my combination, dehydrated skin. Despite its milky richer consistency, the serum spreads easily and absorbs within about a minute. It leaves my skin feeling soft and comfortable, with a faintly dewy finish that is not tacky.

How To Use :
1) After cleansing, apply over face and neck in light, upward strokes.
2) Follow with broad spectrum SPF for daytime use.

Performance and Ingredients

I have been using Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Strengthening Serum twice a day and will be emptying it soon. It worked well when layered with Kansosan Medical Highly Moisturizing Cream. My skin felt more comfortable and appeared less red, giving it a calmer and more resilient-looking appearance.

However, do note that the moisturiser used alongside the serum made a difference to the overall finish. When paired with a richer moisturiser like Then I Met You Renewing Rich Beauty Cream, the combination felt oily and greasy on my combination skin, leaving a heavier finish than I would have preferred.

Despite the barrier positioning, for those who are allergic to essential oils, do note that the serum carries 7 essential oils including linalool, geraniol, limonene and eucalyptol.

The key ingredients are....

Squalane : Fortify barrier defenses.
Evergreen Extract : Improve skin’s bounce-back and delivers a redensified look.
Barrier-restoring Cotton Thistle and upcycled Tangerine Extract : Help skin recover and resist signs of aging.
Red Microalgae : Hydrates for healthy-looking, more supple skin, while botanical extracts help soothe.

Conclusion

To conclude, Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Strengthening Serum has a nourishing texture and I like how it left my skin feeling soft, comfortable and healthier with lesser redness. Even my facial therapist noticed it and commented that my skin was good. That said, keep in mind that your choice of moisturiser can influence the overall feel and finish.
