Product Description
A skin lifting and pore tightening mask aimed at people with acne-prone and sensitive skin, but also benefits all skin types. It removes impurities from pores, tones skin, relieves inflammation, and moisturizes.
Thanks to The Cult Culture for sending Troiareuke Acsen Pore Control Mask over, so that I can get to try the product which has helped the popular Joan Kim with her breakouts during the hot summer months, something I also need in all-year round humid Singapore.
Hailing from Korea, Troiareuke uses natural ingredients infused with the latest skincare technologies and cruelty-free processes that heal and transform skin from inside out, making it safe with sustainable results. It is a professional aesthetic skincare brand that aims to provide the perfect solution to your daily skin concerns.
Troiareuke Acsen Pore Control Mask ( Acsen stands for ACne + SENsitive ) is a mixture of Moroccan Lava, Kaolin and Bentonite Clay which purifies and detoxifies pores, while Centella Asiatica extract ensures a reduction in inflammation and acne scarring.
The Pore Control Mask comes in a 50ml sized tube which can last for a long while as I tend to use it once/twice a week on the T-zone ( I have combination skin ) or as a spot treatment on breakouts. It is said to give a brighter, cleaner and firmer complexion.
Firs Application |
Slight Spreading |
White in colour, the creamy clay-like texture has a strong scent with a slight minty cooling sensation during application. It dries out with a tightening sensation after 7 - 10 minutes. I prefer to clean it with wet cotton pads first before rinsing my face with water, just to ensure a thorough removal.
How To Use Troiareuke Acsen Pore Control Mask : I use it in a couple of ways as stated below
Whole Face :
I use it all over the face whenever I feel that my skin needs a deep cleanse. It helps to minimize blackheads and has an immediate skin brightening after 10 minutes of masking session.
T-Zone :
Since I have combination skin where my T-zone is perpetually oilier than my cheeks, I prefer to use Troiareuke Acsen Pore Control Mask on the T-zone area once/twice a week to purify the pores from impurities and excessive sebum. Coupled with a good hydrating serum like The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid + B5, my skin would maintain at its optimal condition with lesser oil for the next 2 ~ 3 days.
Spot Treatment :
I tend to get breakouts during that time of the month or if a product is too rich or unsuitable so I would apply the mask on those pesky zits and it would help to dry out the pimples, subside and be gone in about 2 ~ 3 days.
Just like recently, I had some breakouts on the chin from using Be Plain Cicaful Ampoule and I applied Troiareuke Acsen Pore Control Mask diligently on alternate day ( 10 minutes will do ), rinse off once the time is up and follow up with Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Oil 100% Pure Multipurpose Liquid. All the 3 zits were gone within 3 days. Awesome!
Ever since incorporating Troiareuke Acsen Pore Control Mask into my skincare regime, I get reassured that there is a solution to my combination skin and the odds of winning the battle with pesky zits. Zits get healed faster and my T-zone area has been less oily of late. My skin is also cleaner and brighter whenever I use the mask.
In terms of ingredients,
Kaolin is a naturally occurring clay mineral (silicate of aluminum) used in cosmetics for its absorbent properties. Kaolin’s absorbent properties make it a popular ingredient in clay masks for oily skin. According to research study here and here, clay has been demonstrated to be able to eliminate bacteria and heal skin infections.
Bentonite is composed of volcanic ash and is principally grey to creamy in colour. It is considered the king of absorption for moisture and sebum sebum. For this reason, it is a prime candidate for inclusion in facemasks meant to reduce impurities. In a study on people with acne vulgaris, where subjects are found to have roughly three times more sebum produced than normal, researchers use bentonite clay to absorb the extra oil — demonstrating Bentonite’s ability to soak up excess oils. There is another study demonstrating that Bentonite can help to pull impurities out from skin.
Moroccan Lava Clay is a high-quality soothing clay sourced from the Atlas Mountains in Morocco and is often used in spas for skin and hair. It is also known as Rhassoul Clay, Ghassoul Clay and Red Clay. It can help even out skin tone, reduce blemishes and blackheads, increase skin elasticity and reduce skin dryness or flakiness.
With all these in mind, I would recommend Troiareuke Acsen Pore Control Mask to
- those who are acne-prone
- those who are battling with the occasional zits
- those who has oily or combination skin
