Review : Holika Holika Super Retino Collagen Eye Mask

Product Description
Contains adenosine, retinol and collagen which make the skin tight. Adenosine restores your body's ability to produce collagen and elastin in the skin. Retinol stimulates cell regeneration and build collagen to diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots. Additionally, they help minimize the appearance of pore size, while correcting blemishes and blotchiness often associated with problematic skin.

Benefits:
  • Tightens
  • Wrinkle Improvement
  • Minimizes pore size

This is my very first product from the brand. A friend's friend helped to haul some skincare products from Korea and I purchased 2 eye mask sheets from this range. I am not sure of its new location in Wisma Atria now as it has moved out of its original premises some time back.

Holika Holika is a relatively new brand founded in March 2010. You can read more about its background here. The product range in Singapore is not as wide as Korea though. You can check out the whole product range on their website.

This eye sheet mask has a very interesting concept, that was shown on the packaging. Unfortunately, I failed to read the instructions carefully on my first sheet mask so it was a waste.
What the picture show is that, you need to depress on the "wrinkle essence" to allow the essence contents flow to the eye mask, where the arrow pointer is.

Thereafter, you can remove the eye mask from the packaging and use it. Each pair of eye masks is protected between protective layers and kept in a clear plastic tray. The jelly-like cresent moon shaped eye mask is slippery and glooey-like. It slipped from the undereye area very easily. I adjusted it every 5 minutes which was quite bothersome. It felt refreshing and cooling.

My undereye area looked slightly depuffed during my first usage and fine lines were minimized.
During my second sheet mask, the undereye area looked slightly brighter and depuffed but it was a temporary measure.

I used both sheets on 2 consecutive days.

Hi Jasmine,
Thanks for dropping by. Not to worry, I won't miss out any of your messages (unless there is problem with the server), even if you comment on older posts :)

Garden of Wisdom used to be highly raved in Shoppinglifestyle.com many years ago. You can do a search in the forum if you are keen.

The owner, Markey Martin has been quite prompt in replies and is willing to help with queries.
It took about 2 weeks for the items to reach me. Shipping rates are affordable but thats also because I ordered mainly smaller items. I paid US$5+ shipping for US$48+ worth of goods

I would peg their products as natural, rather than organic.
I only ordered once and its been reliable and she also included a surprise free gift.
Cheers.

Hi Agnes. I read a lot of the eye mask reviews you did, and I see that it only works temporary. And I also have noticed in your posts you have mentioned you also have puffy and dark eye cirlcles. So my question is which one of the eye masks would you pick as of for the best results? And I personally also have big dark eye circles, and I was wondering if any eye creams or remedies has worked out for you so far. Thanks for your time.

Hi Phyllis,
Thanks for reading! The undereye area is such a tricky spot to treat. Eye masks are only a temporary measure and enough sleep and staying hydrated are equally important.

I have eyebags and dark circles concerns with eyebags being the top concern as I felt that dark circles can still be concealed well with a good concealer.

I like
1) BIO-ESSENCE Bio-Energy Eye Bag Vanishing Mask which helps in puffiness
2) Bioglo Lift And Firm Eye Mask and Its Skin Collagen Eye Mask Sheet which made the undereye area looked brighter and rested.
3) Envie De Neuf Thalasso-Decompress Eye Mask which helps to minimize fine lines

The mentioned ones are the better ones among those I have tried before but they may not be the best in the market.
That said, everyone's condition is different, so the results may differ between individuals.
My dark circles are hereditary, sigh!

If you are only concerned about dark circles, a friend of mine who have dark circles sweared by Bioessence Sparkling Lift Eye Mask.

Other eye masks which are highly raved ( but did not work for me ) are Skin Food Carrot Collagen Eye Sheet and The Face Shop Raspberry Slim and Fit Eye Patch.

Hi Phyllis,
Moving to eye creams, 100% Pure Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream is a cult favourite among celebrities for dark circles and puffiness. I am currently using it and have yet to review it. The result is mixed. Sometimes it appears to work well, sometimes its not. Hence, I am still monitoring the condition.

Another favourite in the USA with amazing result is Zach Merrill & Co Illuminating Eye Care and Instant Eye Tuck which failed to work on me. There are amazing "before" and "after" results online.

Some gals have sweared by DIY eye massage for better circulation to alleviate dark circles.
Other DIY methods include using cool damp tea bags or cotton balls dipped in cold milk and place it over the undereye area.

Good luck and hope you find something that works well for you! Cheers
