Review : Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact - Rose

Product Description
This shimmering, brush-on powder creates a soft, rosy glow. Works well with neutral, pink and rose blush shades.

What it is:
Five bars of pure pearl color for shimmering lids and glowing cheeks.

What it does:
This shimmering, brush-on powder is handmade in Italy and creates a soft, rosy glow. It works well with neutral, pink, and rose blush shades.

To apply:
Sweep the Face Blender Brush through all five shades of Shimmer Brick Compact and dust lightly on cheekbones after blush. Focus on applying shimmer on the top of cheekbones - where light naturally hits the face - for the most flattering look.
To add a highlight to eyes, apply the lightest shade in the compact just under brow bone with fingertips or the Eye Smudge Brush.

This blush has been in my stash for some time, which I picked up from Strawberrynet at a steal. Some people have questioned the authencity of their products but thankfully, so far, everything has been fine with my purchased products.

Bobbi Brown is famed for their Shimmer Brick Compact for years and I am glad to have a chance to own them. The packaging comes in a black squarish and thick compact that is not very travel-friendly. I still bring it out at times, but not very often. The mirror is useful for touch-up but the hassle of bringing a brush dampens my mood, hence I prefer to use it at home before leaving the house.

I am not sure if its just my product, but it has a musty weird scent when I took a close sniff. And the life span of the blush is 6 months once opened which is kind of  silly when I can hardly made a significant dent even if I do use it every day. For a product that is so expensive, 6 months just does not justify the price.

I don't wear blush on a regular basis so I can never finish them. This Shimmerbrick in rose is supposed to be layered on top of your regular blush but I tend to use it as a blush itself. Shimmers are apparent if you apply too much. I don't like to use it with a heavy-hand because the shimmers can get pretty glowy against my fair skin.

With a light hand, it goes on smoothly, blends well and gives a subtle glowy, radiant look.
However, if you have unslightly large pores, I think its best to skip this. The shimmers tend to emphasize on those imperfections.

I usually just swirl my brush in the graduation of colours, skipping the white in it.
Just couldn't understand how I can use the white together with the rest. And I have other better products to be used as my highlighter on the face.
