Review on L’élan Vital Eye Mask

Cosway L’élan Vital Eye Mask Review
A colleague of mine who is a member and a fan of Cosway bought their products frequently.
On an impulse, I decided to take a look at their monthly catalogue since she has always been raving about their products.

Their prices are rather affordable during their monthly sales indicated in their catalogue, so I decided to pick up some of the products.

You may have came across some of the facial masks reviews from Cosway which I have previously done and now is the review for their eye masks.

Actually, I bought 3 boxes of their eye masks (5 pairs in each box) since it was within my budget and I believe that I need more to see results.

L’élan Vital Eye Mask is made from a combination of clinically proven actives, including Eyeliss™ (Hesperidin Methyl Chalcone, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-3), Haloxyl™ (Chrysin, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide) and AC-Dermapeptide Lifting™ to stop serious dark circles and eye bags and prevent their recurrence.

EyelissTM Intense Draining Action
- Strengthens capillaries to prevent leakage of haemoglobin and fluids that causes dark under eye circles
- Eliminates excess fluids to relieve puffiness
- Enhances firmness to reduce slackening of the skin
- Soothes inflammation to reduce swelling

HaloxylTM Lightening Action
- Clears away pigmented, oxidised haemoglobin that gives dark eye circles their tell-tale colour
- Improves skin density for better microvascular network support around the eyes
- Boosts the metabolism of skin cells to improve under-eye skin texture AC

Dermapeptide Lifting™ Tightening & Lifting Actions
- Special protein extracted from sweet almonds which were used by ancient Romans for their toning and smoothing effects
- Tightens and lifts slackened skin to reduce eye bags

Packaged in a small tray just small enough to fit the mask, the 2 corners at the sides of the tray helps to secure the masks.

Wet with essence, though there is a slight chemical smell which may be unbearable to some people, it is comfortable on the under eye area. The almost transparent white cresent moon shaped masks sits securely on the under eye area moisturised the area pretty well.

There is a slight tingling effect followed by a slight tightening feel after wearing it for a few minutes. Even though its recommended to have it for 20minutes, I usually remove it only after 30minutes since its still wet.

Using 3 times per week, the under eye area appears to be moisturised and my eyes looks visibly brighter however my dark eye bags are still around.

Review on Biotherm Aquasource Non Stop Oligo Thermal Gel Intense Moisturization

I am so in love with Biotherm moisturiser and usually pack this into my gym bag to be used during my lunch time gym.

Intense moisturizing, this fresh-textured gel is enriched with a patented hydrating complex to provide a reservoir effect on skin. Pure concentrate of mineral-rich Thermal Spring Water revitalizes skin and improves skin texture with the equivalent of 5,000 liters of enriched water in each jar. It also contains Vitamins E and F to promote cell regeneration. Skin is instantly refreshed and hydrated, supple and silky soft, perfectly revitalized throughout the day.

Recommended for normal to combination skin, this water gel is fresh and light. Enriched with vitalizing trace minerals (copper, zinc, manganese, magnesium) and with a concentrate of spa water activity, the unique texture, created using a polymer, forms a very close knit mesh over the face, creating a moisture network that gives intense hydration for hours on end.

Upon application, my skin is replenished with moisture and instantly refreshed. Cutaneous discomfort as well as tight, tugging sensations are immediately diminished. Fully quenched, optimally moisturized, supple and silky soft, this is one moisturizer that I cannot do without.
The only complaint is, its not oil-free and you know how hung-up I am about using oil-free products.

So when your skin is dehydrated, if you sleep in an air-conditioned room for hours, this is the one you can consider trying, to treat your parched skin.

Review on Lancome Hydra Zen Moisturising Cream Fluid

I have been eyeing this moisturiser for some time and is elated when I received it during one of the Lancome workshops I attended a few months back.

Recommended for normal to combination skin, this delicious Oil-in-Water texture melts onto the skin. It intensely moisturises and lastingly soothes the skin, leaving it soft, smooth and radiant.

* Lightweight fluid cream that gently soothes & calms skin
* Provides intense, immediate & long-lasting hydration
* Relieves environmental & emotional stress
* Leaves skin soft, smooth & radiant
* Suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skin

HYDRA ZEN NEUROCALM™ features a unique technology to provide intense, immediate and continuous moisturisation and soothe sensitive skin.

Marketed as a soothing Anti-Stress Moisturising Fluid Cream, the scent is lovely and glides on the skin effortlessly. The only complaint that I have, is that despite claims that its fast absorbing, I hardly find it so. It leaves a sticky feel and takes about 5 minutes to dry up.
It smells good and gives a calming feeling. The cream is lightweight and gives light moisture to my skin.

It can be a hassle when you are rushing in the morning but what I usually do, is to apply my concealer after applying my moisturiser.
Next, stand in front of the fan and let the wind blow onto my face for 1 minute and I can apply my sunscreen.

- MOISTURISES: Lipidure and Hyaluronic acid microcapsules, vectorised ceramides and Glycerol provide the skin with intense, long-lasting hydration.
- SOOTHES AND RELIEVES STRESS: The NEUROCALM™ complex with natural plant extracts combats the negative effects of environmental and emotional stress. Samphire boosts the positive effects of stress by producing beta-endorphins, providing heightened moisturisation.
- SOOTHING FRAGRANCE: Proven calming, anti-stress action.
o Rose and lily-of-the-valley: soothing
o Orange: relaxing
o Apple: anti-stress
o White musk: reassuring

Review on Ahava Gentle Body Exfoliator

A remarkable and natural cleaning agent rich in moisturizing minerals, Gentle Body Exfoliator works deeply to gently lift away impurities and worn-out cells.

I am still on the look-out for a body scrub which is as effective as the TBS Olive scrub but less painful and this is the next one I tried it out.

This is a new brand which I saw in Centerpoint during window-shopping. I guess its been there for quite some time but I never stepped in for a look before, till that day.
Powered by AHAVA’s Mineral Skin Osmoter™ and a wealth of other natural Dead Sea ingredients, they efficiently maintain your skin’s health and moisture balance.
It claimed to give a more vibrant and supple skin tone which is revealed all over your body and is hypoallergenic.
Well, the creamy texture with blue beads are gentle enough but its so gentle that I do not feel any effect at all.

After each session, I do not feel that my skin have become smoother which is quite a disappointment.

This tube is retailing at $31 for a 200ml tube

Facial Masks for Your Skin Type

Its such a mind-blogging decision to choose the right mask for your needs at times, isn't it? With so many brands out there, which should be the correct one to use?

I shared tips courtesy from ShoppingLifestyle
I thought it was quite an excellent article.

No matter what's your skin type, face masks are excellent as an instant skin booster between your monthly appointments with your facialist. But you'll only get the best results if you choose a mask that targets your specific skin type and addresses any problems you have, so here's how to pick the best masks for your skin:

Masks for Oily or Acne-Prone Skin
Choose Purifying Masks.
- draw out impurities
- purge dirt and grime for oily and combination skin types

Commonly made of mud and clay, they help to tighten your skin tone as they dry, and ridding excess sebum. Look out for antiseptic ingredients to help treat skin problems especially if you're prone to breakouts.

Masks: Mud, Clay, Deep Cleansing, Clarifying, Purifying, Cooling.

Beneficial Ingredients:
kaolin, clay and aluminium magnesium silicate (oil-absorbing)
witch hazel and zinc oxide (antiseptic)
eucalyptus (purge impurities)
pumpkin or papaya extracts (exfoliants)
benzoyl peroxide (acne prevention and treatment)
menthol (invigorating).

Usage: Wear until the mask dries completely, or as directed, then rinse off with warm water.

Masks for Dry Skin
Choose Hydrating Masks.
- hydrate and replenish moisture in dry skin
- make dehydrated skin cells soft and supple
- reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
Go for richer formulas such as cream masks if you have very dry or mature skin.

Masks: Hydrating, Moisturizing, Cream, Sheet / Tissue Masks.

Beneficial Ingredients:
avocado, aloe, vitamin B Panthenol, jojoba and oils (moisturizing)
collagen (skin plumping)
buttermilk (soothing)
hyaluronic acid (skin-filling and wrinkle reduction).

Usage: Leave on for 20 minutes, or as indicated, and remove with tissues or lukewarm water. With some masks, the remaining traces can be left on the skin to be absorbed and there's no need to wash off.

Masks for Dull Skin
Choose Exfoliating Masks.
- slough off dead surface cells and dirt
- reveal brighter and more radiant-looking skin

Masks: Exfoliating, Purifying, Whitening, Botanical.

Beneficial Ingredients:
pumpkin and papaya extracts (exfoliants)
menthol and peppermint (invigorating)
AHAs (exfoliant)
eucalyptus (purge impurities).

Usage: These can be used by most skin types but people with sensitive skin should read the labels carefully.

Masks for Sensitive Skin
Choose Gentle Masks.
- calm redness and tightness of the skin
For hyper-sensitive skin, opt for masks that are fragrance- and preservative-free.

Masks: Gentle, Calming, Relaxing, Soothing.

Beneficial Ingredients:
kaolin (oil-absorbing)
caffeine and grapefruit seed extract (reduce redness)
honey (soothing)
aloe and chamomile extract (anti-inflammatory).

Usage: Wear the mask following the instructions, and wipe away gently with tissues or washcloth.
