Top 15 Beauty Empties in 2024

 

In 2024, I have emptied 76 products and here are the top 15 beauty empties I loved and would repurchased. 

This year has been a whirlwind, balancing a demanding full-time job with extended hours, time-intensive blog writing, collaborations, product reviews, dedicated exercise routines, and managing my Instagram content—including planning, scheduling, and photo/video shoots with captions. One of my key goals for 2024 was to spend more quality time with my loved ones, and I’m grateful to have achieved that.

With limited time, I had to scale back on journaling and deep reflections, as well as decline several collaborations, to focus on personal priorities like planning trips to Seoul, Korea, in May; a staycation in Johor Bahru, Malaysia in July; Taichung and Taipei, Taiwan, in November; and a quick getaway to Batam, Indonesia, in December. Despite the hustle, 2024 has been a fulfilling year of hard work, creativity, and meaningful experiences. 

The concept of "beauty empties" might seem like just another social media trend, but it holds a deeper meaning - to me, it is about sharing a story of commitment, trust, and authenticity in a world brimming with beauty products and quick reviews.

[ Review ] Klorane Soothing Shampoo with Peony

 

Product Description

KLORANE Shampoo with peony extract, with its fluid texture and translucent pink colour, offers irritated scalps a much-needed cooling effect. This protective and soothing shampoo, which can be used as often as necessary, is a truly effective solution for irritated scalps that itch, particularly as a consequence of dandruff. Paraben free.

I purchased Klorane Soothing Shampoo (Peony) together with Klorane Ultra-Gentle Shampoo (Oat Milk) some time back. While Klorane Ultra-Gentle Shampoo with Oat Milk worked relatively well on me, I can't say the same for Klorane Soothing Shampoo with Peony.

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Klorane Soothing Shampoo with Peony is a 400ml product housed in a clear bottle with a flick top cap that dispenses the pink gel shampoo for use. It has a subtle floral fragrance and looks so pretty in pink.

How To Use :

1) Apply to wet Hair, lather and rinse thoroughly. 

2) No need to repeat application. 

note : Suitable for frequent use. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse thoroughly.

Performance and Ingredients

Klorane Soothing Shampoo with Peony offers a calming sensation that helps soothe the scalp. It lathers lightly with gentle suds and cleanses effectively. However, I noticed an increase in hair fall after using it, which was disappointing and not ideal for my needs.

While I generally avoid shampoos with Sodium Laureth Sulfate, I decided to give this one a try. Unfortunately, it didn’t work well for me, so I won’t be repurchasing it. It’s not the best fit for my hair care routine.

Conclusion

To conclude, while Klorane Soothing Shampoo with Peony offers a calming sensation that helps soothe the scalp, lathers lightly with gentle suds and cleanses effectively but there was an increase in hair fall after using it, which was disappointing and not ideal for my needs.

Origins Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilence Soothing Face Mask is a creamy, super soothing, resilience boosting treatment mask with superfoods like Reishi Mushroom, Sea Buckthorn and Fermented Chaga.

Origins Mega Mushroom Skin Relief Mask was the first product I tried out back in 2017 but the results were pretty disappointing. Fast forward to 2024, I noticed a newer Origins Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilence Soothing Face Mask with different ingredients and promptly purchased it. 

It is said to rapidly reduces visible redness, helps restore resilience and instantly hydrates, calms and soothes for comfortable, healthy-looking skin which is what I needed on a regular basis.

Origins Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilence Soothing Face Mask is a 75ml green tube. It has a rich and creamy formula which I adored, with an occasional minty/spicy sensation and a herbal scent that disappears after a short while.

I purchased Innersense Hydrate + Nourish set last year which includes a collection if minis to mask, cleanse, condition, and replenish to soft, healthy, hydrated hair. These ultra-rich formulas are said to work for all hair types, especially those that are dry, damaged, thick or coarse.

I brought it along to my recent Taiwan trip where the weather hovers around 18-21 degrees and this hair mask helped to soften my long tresses. Unfortunately, my hair was tangled badly due to the weather and the hair mask only helped to minimize them slightly. This will not be a repurchase.

The formula is vegetarian, gluten-free, free from phthalates, ethoxylates, sulfates, silicones, parabens, petro-compounds, propylene, PEG, artificial dyes and synthetic fragrances. It is also cruelty-free.

[ Review ] Three Balancing Cleansing Oil

 

Product Description

Three Balancing Cleansing Oil cleanses while retaining moisture for fresh and smooth skin. This cleansing oil contains several types of plant oils, including tea seed oil, and orange peel oil, which has oil-cleaning properties. It removes not only makeup, but also sunscreen, excess sebum, pollutants in the air and various other contaminants.

I purchased a 30ml of Three Balancing Cleansing Oil from a Luxasia warehouse sale recently, as the full sizes were sold out. My last experiences with Three Aiming Cleansing Balm, Three Aiming Lotion, Three Aiming Emulsion and Three Aiming Cream were great and I looked forward to purchasing other products from the brand again.

Three Balancing Cleansing Oil is housed in a sturdy glass container with a lovely calming herbal scent. The oil texture with a medium consistency rinses off easily but stings the eyes.
