Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Oil EX is a mild cleansing oil that gently removes makeup and impurities with a refreshing texture.
Coix Lacryma-Jobi (Job's Tears) Seed and Tangerine peel Extracts help to effectively remove impurities, while Apricot Kernel Oil removes dead skin cells for clearer and healthier skin foundation.
The oil spreads smoothly to cleanse your makeup and impurities gently and quickly. When it mixes with water, the wash-off ingredients are activated for a refreshing finish.
I have a soft spot for Sulwhasoo and have recently used up Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Water and Sulwhasoo Radiance Energy Mask. Being a micellar water fan, I didn't have too much expectations for its cleansing oil but lo and behold, I actually enjoyed Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Oil EX much more than the Gentle Cleansing Water.
Please note that while my product is stated as Gentle Cleansing Oil EX, the ingredients were the same as Gentle Cleansing Oil ( without the EX ) so I am not sure why is there a differentiation in the products naming and I am unable to find any information online.
Packaging, Scent and Texture
Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Oil EX is housed in a 200ml bottle with its signature luxury brown tint colours. A pump is included for convenience as shown above. I actually do think that they can do away with the cap since the pump can be locked to prevent spillage.
If you have tried Sulwhasoo products, you would be familiar with its herbal scent but not all products contain that scent, just like its not in the Gentle Cleansing Water. I am happy that Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Oil EX has a calming and soothing herbal scent which makes it a luxurious spa-like treat at the end of a work day, to remove make-up. I just love the sensorial experience.
Clear in colour, the oil texture is just right, neither too thick nor too runny, just the way I like it.
How to Use :
1) Pump twice onto dry hands and massage by circling around your forehead -> nose -> cheeks to cleanse.
2) When the make up residues and impurities are melted, rinse with lukewarm water without wiping off with tissues.
Performance and Ingredients
Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Oil EX is a hypoallergenic cleansing oil that removes makeup residue and dirt from the skin with a smooth rolling action. It quickly dissolves makeup to cleanse even waterproof makeup. In addition, its wash-off ingredients are easily washed away with water to leave the skin feeling refreshed without any oil leftover after cleansing. Adlay and tangerine peel extracts effectively remove dirt from the skin, while apricot seed extract exfoliates the skin to keep it smooth and moisturized.
I usually pump the bottle twice, followed by massaging the cleansing oil on dry skin to remove makeup or sunscreen. I adore the sensorial experience largely attributed to the calming scent. Next, wet your hands lightly and massage the skin again, so that it can emulsify before rinsing off with water. My skin is left clean, clear, refreshed and healthy looking with no residue. Pores are so clean and almost non-existent.
I also tried using it on eye makeup, even though I am used to using micellar water for the eyes but thankfully, it managed to clear most of the eye makeup, except for some tiny eyeliner remnants which I need to follow up with a cotton bud. There is no stinging.
Overall, I really enjoyed using Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Oil EX and made me look forward to removing makeup at the end of the day. If you are a cleansing oil fan, then you definitely need to try this!

To conclude, Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Oil EX has been a pleasant experience and I really love the product from its divine scent to the cleansing power which always left my skin clean, clear, refreshed and healthy looking.
