I had first tried First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream 6 years ago, in 2014 but it wasn't too effective then. Fast forward to today where I won the cream in a giveaway hosted by Sergei Shumilin on Instagram, I thought it was a good time to give it a 2nd try.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream comes in a 56.7g plastic tube that is travel-friendly and portable. It does not have much of a scent and has an interesting texture that reminds one of whipped cream, without the airy and greasy texture. It is a cross between a mousse and a whipped cream, yet feels emollient on the skin but isn't necessarily so.

The one I used back in 2014, was from my brother and it comes in a 170g tub. Being in a tub meant that the repair cream is prone to bacteria since you have to dip your fingers in, unless you use a spatula. And it also won't make your antioxidants stable as any presence of air, each time you open the jar, will make the active ingredients deteriorate.

Performance and Ingredients

It comes in timely when I was trying to moisturize my skin after a 6 day trip from Thailand. Unfortunately, First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream failed to deliver. I used it on the body.

During application, the white dense moussy-like whipped cream seemed to apply well but disappeared into nothingness once it absorbed into the skin.

It felt like there was nothing on the skin, no rich emollient hydrating layer and no soothing or refreshing feel. After about 10 minutes, my legs started to itch on some areas. I tried it again the next day and I still encountered that itch so off it goes, to my hubby. I don't waste products, ever.

Back in 2014, I used it on the face. There was no itch but it wasn't moisturizing or soothing.

In terms of ingredients,  it contains eucalyptus which is a potential skin irritant although it has a very low concentration, but for those with extremely skin sensitivity conditions, its best to be aware. I don't think I am allergic to this ingredient but then again, who knows.

COLLOIDAL OATMEAL (OTC) : FDA-designated skin protectant that relieves itching and minor irritation caused by eczema, rashes and other skin conditions.
SHEA BUTTER : An emollient rich in vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids, helps moisturize and protect the skin barrier.
ALLANTOIN : Helps calm and soothe skin.
FAB ANTIOXIDANT BOOSTER : Helps stave off environmental aggressors with Licorice Root, Feverfew and White Tea extracts.

Conclusion

To conclude, First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream is not suitable for my skin type. Back in 2014, the product was not soothing or moisturizing to be effective or warrant a re-purchase. Fast forward to today, the performance was worse. I am actually allergic to it.

It scored 3.7 from 331 users on Makeupalley. However, as usual, please note that what don't work for me, may actually work for you. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream has pretty positive reviews on Sephora Singapore.
