Honestly speaking, cleansers is the only category which I am less adventurous about. I tend to stick to the same group of cleansers which my finicky skin likes but most of them are not easily available in Singapore so when one of the authorized retailers stopped selling my favourite Naturalmente Breathe Skin Therapy Moisturizing Cleanser Emulsion, it was time to look out for another cleanser.
I purchased Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Cloud Cream Cleanser on a whim and regretted my purchase immediately after using it for the first time. Read more below and find out why this cleanser is not the one for me.
Packaging, Scent and Texture
Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Cloud Cream Cleanser is packed in a 120ml tube, as with most cleansers. The name implies that this is a creamy cleanser so I thought it would be nourishing for my combination-dehydrated skin but unfortunately, it works and lathers like a foam cleanser which is very stripping.
It is said to be a fragrance-free formula but I still detect a subtle "plastic-y" scent which I don't fancy.
Performance and Ingredients
I have finicky skin which explains why I don't take well to most cleansers. A bad cleanser tends to leave my skin squeaky clean and becomes too dry hence I prefer gentle, nourishing and milky cleanser.
Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Cloud Cream Cleanser is said to be a gentle cleanser but I beg to differ. I regretted my purchase as it left my skin squeaky clean and irritates the edges of my nose leaving it itchy, red and raw.
In terms of ingredients, it contains Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium PCA and Coconut Oil so I wasn't expecting it to be irritating for my skin type but well, I lucked out and it is just not suitable for me.
That said, it does remove simple make-up and works well either as a 1st or 2nd cleanse.

Conclusion
Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Cloud Cream Cleanser is a foamy cleanser that might work well for those with oily or combination skin. However, if you have dehydrated, sensitive or combination-dehydrated skin like mine, its best to steer away from this.
