welcome, dear :)
i think it's great to equip with some knowledge to help us buy the right product with the right ingredient :)
it also seems these days it's hard to buy skincare, makeup without paraben or preservative? i think maybe organic don't have paraben? i am not sure as i never buy organic skincare/makeup. what is your makeup you are using now, Agnes?
from my understanding, Vichy BB cream doesn't contain paraben or harmful chemical and i trust this product.
Yes, indeed we need to be mindful of what we are putting on our faces but ingredients are really a mind-boggling lot. :)
There are increasingly more brands out there to cater for those who are looking for paraben-free products but usually at a marked-up price. Most expats in Singapore are turned-off by the prices as compared to their native countries. :P
Most organic/natural products are paraben-free. Just look out for that term on their packaging. Its usually stated.
Due to the increasing awareness of consumers, Watsons and Guardian have brought in several organic/natural brands. You can check them out, if you are keen.
Mineral make-up is a natural alternative to powders, known to be anti-inflammatory and non-comodegenic. You can read more about it on yesterday's Urban and yesterday's My Paper.
I have only started on natural/organic products on the body, not so for the face yet. Thanks for sharing, I may check out the Vichy BB cream one of these days. :)
I am currently using Dior foundation and compact powder but for skincare-wise, its still non-natural. Its a mixture of different brands as stated on my blog on the right-side bar.
How about you? what make-up are you using now?
Hi Agnes
Thanks for the note :)
sorry for late reply, i was down with a flu over the weekend :(
yes you are right, most organic/natural products are paraben-free. the challenge is they also contain more oil which might clog pore, but i know there is no perfect world , just ensure our skin works well. even the famous La mer has Paula
Begoun refute as useless product in her beautypedia.com but yet so well loved by some; so yes it's really individual .
i am using Vichy BB cream as it's paraben free, the only paraben free makeup i can find in watson haha but it seems it's running out of stock in watson, you can still find them in guardian though. for loose powder, Lancome maquicake range is finely milled and set makeup well round the day without the cakiness :)
for skincare, i trust by
elizabeth arden ceramide capsules, though it's "oily" it surprisingly works well for dry skin and restore the hydration level. :) when i am lazy, i just slath this over my face and go to sleep as this small capsule contains all the goodness to restore a healthy skin-barrier function. and i think ceramide don't come cheap and EA does it well. if you can, buy it from Hongkong , it's cheaper :)
here is the review on beautypedia.

Oh great, thanks for recommending me Lancome loose powder. I am looking around for good loose powder as I have just started on them. I have been using compact powder for years. lol.
My current loose powder are of drugstore brands.
Oh, always been intrigued by EA capsules. Great that it works well on you.
Take care and have a good rest.
