[ Review ] The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Shower Gel

Now Vegan Society certified and made with 92% ingredients of natural origin including grapefruit extract and Community Fair Trade organic aloe vera from Mexico, our hardworking Shower Gel helps leave skin feeling soft. The sharp and sweet notes of this fragrance are like slicing a big, juicy grapefruit in half and leave you smelling citrusy.

I received a trio of shower gels from a friend during last Christmas and brought along the 60ml travel-friendly shower gel to my recent Royal Carribean Spectrum of the Seas cruise. My last product from the brand was The Body Shop Winter Jasmine Shower Gel.

Packaging, Scent and Texture 

The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Shower Gel is housed in a 60ml clear plastic bottle with pretty illustrations of grapefruits. It has a flick-top cap for easy dispensing, however I found the cap to be pretty tight and was not easy to be "flick" open. The pink gel texture lathers well. 

How To Use : 

1. Lather up into a thick foam.

2. Slather all over damp skin.

3. Rinse.

Performance and Ingredients

I was glad to have brought this shower gel on my cruise. AM shower needs to help you wake up and go-go-go, and The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Shower Gel indeed helps to wake up the senses with the zest and zing of pink grapefruit. 

Suitable for all skin types, it lathers up a treat, transforming from a light gel texture into a rich bubbly foam, leaving skin feeling soft, cleansed and refreshed.

I love the citrus scent with its zingy and refreshing aroma which was such a joy to breathe in during my morning showers on cruise and back home, however it contains Sodium Laureth Sulfate which can be drying for the long term. 

That said, you will be happy to know that the bottle is recyclable and made from 100% recycled plastic and that 92% ingredients comes from natural origin.

The key ingredients are....

Community Fair Trade Organic Aloe Vera : Ultra-gentle and soothing on skin, aloe vera is perfect for the sensitive skin range. It’s a naturally hardy plant. The aloe vera leaves are harvested and filleted by hand within 6 hours, which preserves the freshness and makes sure the aloe is the highest possible quality. The Body Shop source the organic aloe vera from Campeche in south-east Mexico. 

Pink Grapefruit Seed Oil : Squish grapefruit seeds for their essential oil to add to their zingy, sweet and citrusy-smelling products.

Conclusion

To conclude, The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Shower Gel with its zesty citrus fragrance and pink gel texture that lathers well gives rise to a good showering experience, however it contains Sodium Laureth Sulfate which can be drying for the long term.

[ Review ] SVR Physiopure Cleansing Milk

Make-up remover pure and mild. Physiopure Lait has been specially developed for women with dry skin. As creamy as it is light, this make up remover milk melts on the skin to eliminate the impurities.

SVR Physiopure Cleansing Milk was a relatively new brand to me, and I purchased it during the 1 for 1 sale in Guardian. My last 2 affordable milk cleansers were Jowae Soothing Cleansing Milk and Clinelle PureSwiss Hydracalm Caring Milk Cleanser.

SVR is a French dermocosmetic brand since 1962. The laboratory offers effective dermatological solutions for all types of skin. 

SVR Physiopure Cleansing Milk comes under the range of SVR Physiopure which is a range of gentle cleansers, face washes and makeup removers for sensitive skin. It thoroughly cleanse pollutants, makeup and impurities which is the cause of irritate skin. These mild cleansers are formulated with oxygenating magnesium to release impurities from the skin, leaving it cleansed, reoxygenated and hydrated every evening.

Packaging, Scent and Texture 

SVR Physiopure Cleansing Milk is a 200ml cleansing milk product housed in a pretty blue clear plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. It has a strong fragrance and the white cleansing milk is creamy-like in consistency. 

How To Use : 

1) Apply morning and/or evening using a cotton pad or fingertips, massaging gently into the skin. 

2) Rinse off or wipe away using their toner. 

Performance and Ingredients

SVR Physiopure Cleansing Milk gently eliminates makeup and impurities on face, eyes and lips. It left the skin moisturised, comfortable and oxygenated. 

I use this primarily as a second cleanse although I do use it occasionally as a makeup remover + cleanser if I happened to run out of my regular makeup remover by doing a double cleanse. 

The strong fragrance was rather off-putting and I rather do without it. So while I enjoyed the light creamy contents with its silky smooth consistency, the strong fragrance made me hesitate in re-purchasing. I still have another bottle so I will still empty it and update this post, should my opinions change. 

The cleansing milk glides on skin smoothly and washed off cleanly, leaving my skin clean, soft, smooth and never tight. 

The brand has a strict formulation specifications adapted to sensitive skin and is hypoallergenic.

Oxygenating Magnesium : energizes and re-oxygenates cells while detoxifying the skin.

An exclusive Moisturizing Complex : brings comfort, softness and suppleness to the skin, avoids feelings of tightness.

Conclusion

To conclude, SVR Physiopure Cleansing Milk has a light creamy texture with a silky smooth consistency but with an overpowering fragrance which I am not a fan of. It left my skin clean, soft, smooth and never tight.

OSKIA Super-C Smart Nutrient Beauty Capsules sampler pack is a tiny clear container filled with 7 heart-shaped bright orange capsules. It has no scent until you twist it open for application. The delicious orange scent makes me happy while the oily texture makes me dismayed for a while, as I thought it might not fit my skin type.
