After a positive experience with Lululun Face Mask ( Pink ), I decided to try out Lululun Face Mask ( White ) as well, and promptly purchased one from our local pharmacy.
Packaging, Scent and Cutting
Made in Japan, Lululun Face Mask ( White ) comes in a white resealable 7 pieces pack where each sheet mask is folded and stacked upon each other in the packaging. Do note that it is also available in a 32 pieces box packaging.
Slightly moist with a subtle scent, the material of the sheet mask is made of a 0.6mm thick ‘3-layers structure” sheet which is said to help with easy penetration and lock water in skin. The middle layer locks in skin toning lotion and outer layer acts as supporting barrier to push essence into skin effectively.
It is thin and has a small cutting that does not stretch beyond the edges of my face. The lip and eye cutouts were also pretty small, making it slightly uncomfortable. On the positive side, the smaller eye cutout meant that the undereye area get to be masked as well. There is a cut between the nose and the cheeks area, leaving a gaping hole too.
Performance and Ingredients
On Lululun website, it is recommended to mask twice a day with Lululun Brightening Mask followed by Lululun Cream Mask and skip moisturizing creams and serums however, since I do not have the Cream Mask, I use the brightening sheet mask as what I usually use for the rest of my sheet masks.
As Lululun Face Mask ( White ) is meant to be for daily use, I incorporated it into my daily sheet masking regime where I use it for 7 nights consecutively.
I am happy to report that, I started to see result from the 3rd mask onwards where my skin appeared to be clearer and fresher with smaller pores. Overall, I looked less tired.
Do note that the mask is recommended for 10 minutes usage and at times when I exceeded the time, I noticed that there is a slight taut sensation on my upper lips area which subsided after awhile.
On days when I use it after Josh Rosebrook Antioxidant Mask, there was a tingly effect but after cleansing it off, I can see that my skin was literally glowing although there was a slight itch which went away after a short while.
In terms of ingredients, Lululun Face Mask ( White ) contains the following ingredients with a higher concentration.
Ascorbyl Glucoside is a water-soluble derivative of Vitamin C which is said to be much more stable in water but is less potent than direct L-Ascorbic Acid. It is considered a gold standard of Vitamin C derivatives due to its high stability and comfortable use, but it's impossible to achieve extremely high L-Ascorbic Acid potency with this solution. Provides brightening benefits.
Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate is an oil-soluble derivative of Vitamin C that can be used in higher concentrations without drawbacks. It is one of the most stable derivatives of Vitamin C but, being a derivative, its potency will not be directly comparable to pure L-Ascorbic Acid.
Retinyl Palmitate is the combination of retinol (pure vitamin A) and the fatty acid palmitic acid. Research has shown it to be an effective antioxidant when applied to skin. Retinyl Palmitate is found naturally in our skin, where it works as an antioxidant, particularly in regard to helping protect skin from UV light exposure—though it does not replace the need for sunscreen.
