Facial sheet masks have long been a staple of Asian cultures and are becoming an increasingly popular part of beauty regimens everywhere. It has become a daily necessity in the wake of the changing beauty habits induced by the pandemic and this trend will continue to grow.

Sheet masks are extremely convenient to use and is one of the quickest ways to restore a healthier and more youthful appearance to dull, tired skin. Does having your skin look radiant, plumper, more bouncy, brightened, luminous, more hydrated in 10 to 12 minutes sound good to you? Then sheet masks are for you.

Touted to reduce wrinkles and crow's feet, eliminate dark eye circles, brighten the eye contour and firm sagging skin to eliminate eye bags without surgery making your eyes firmer and brighter, this new eye mask from Bio-essence has 30g worth of contents which I have been using for 6 months. It purchased from the local Watsons at Ngee Ann City but strangely, its not available on their website.

Sounding like a miracle product, this eye mask is charcoal black in colour, creamy in texture and provides a refreshing feel to the undereye area. It has a nice fragrance but not really that strong. Sadly, I failed to see any visible improvement from using it twice a week. My eye contours were not brighter and my dark circles and eye bags were still apparent.

I owned a sachet of this product which I have been using for the past 2 weeks on a daily basis. The small sachet packs a punch because it really contains alot.

The texture is creamy and thick which made blending slightly difficult. You need to quickly whipped it up and spread on the face before it dries up and becomes difficult to blend.

It has medium coverage with poor oil control. My T-zone oiled up by mid-day though some dabbing on the face will do the trick. It was a tad too moisturising for my skin as it gave me 3 small zits within 2 weeks that took more than a week to heal.

It has fragrance in it though its not too overpowering for me. It gets dissipated after application.
While the end result does even-out out my skin tone but because its moisturising, it provided an initial dewy look which turns slightly greasy by mid-day. After some dabbing on the oilness, my skin still manage to look decent but not fantastic.

I have some sachets of this product which I have been using on a nightly basis for more than 2 weeks. Thanks to Naruko Night Gelly series, I am now more accustomed to wearing a sleeping mask to bed.

When I first heard about the famed sleeping mask by Laneige some years back, I was bewildered by the application of the mask and my mind conjured of wet dripping masks on my bed and pillows. How ignorant huh?

This sleeping mask has a nice fragrance. White in colour, it has a light refreshing gel-like texture that is pleasant to use at night before bed. It provides softer, smoother and supple skin immediately after application. While it appears to be good for the skin but somehow it just sits on the surface of the skin.

The following morning, after cleansing, my skin is back to its original state prior to the overnight mask application. And it failed to hydrate my skin sufficiently well.

Review : Bioessence Bird Nest Bio-energy Firm and Brighten Eye Cream SPF15

I received 2 complimentary 3ml samples last month and have been using it every morning on a daily basis. It has an odd scent but nothing foul. Light yellow in colour, it is very lightweight in texture, despite the SPF15 component in the product. Its not heavy or greasy and sinks into my dry undereye area fast. I would peg it as a gel, rather than a cream.

I followed the recommended method of massaging the cream in an outwards direction but without the massaging applicator since its just a sample size. There is no visible result after a month of using it.

This review is way overdue, as I had this product for the longest time. A good friend of mine simply swear by this, she says its the only eye mask she ever needs. According to her, her eyes appeared brighter after each use.

It comes in a silver pack, with 2 white flaps stuck to each other enveloped in wet essence. Peel off the 2 sheets and promptly lay it over your eye area. It comes with a useful flap that you can open or close, depending if you want to rest your eyes, or just do your routine duties.
It does require some awkward adjusting on the eye area, to make sure it fits comfortably

It has a heavy alcohol scent and is soaked heavily in essence and while it does relax the eyes, most probably due to the coldness of the mask, it doesn't do much of anything else.

I received a sachet of this BB cream from a good friend who just joined as a Bioessence member.
It was given to her as a welcome gift so she passed one to me, as she got 2 sachets.

Touted as a 8in1, it acts as a concealer, sunblock, skin repair, moisturizer, nourishment, oil control, skin whitening and reduces wrinkles and lines.

I have to admit that I only manage to use 2 times before it depleted. The first time, I squeezed out too much as I was not expecting it to be so fluid and more came out than necessary.
Compared to the Korean BB creams I have used before, this was more fluid but provides a heavier coverage.

Although the shade was perfect for me, but I can still see the obvious layer on my face, almost like a liquid foundation. I have more redness to conceal than blemishes as I have sensitive skin. This BB cream was able to minimize the redness and blemishes much better than other BB creams I have used before.
However, I found the texture abit too greasy for my skin.

This is a notch higher than its predecessor.

Gold, a metal that never tarnish has becoming very popular in beauty treatments all over the world.

Legendary beauties like Cleopatra was rumoured to sleep with a gold mask every night.

According to Bio-essence, Gold, being non-toxic and an inert element, is very compatibile with human skin. It influences the skin at a cellular level, giving it clarity and a youthful radiance.

Why does all Bio-essence products make so daring claims yet it does not deliver?
The texture is gel-like and comes with gold flakes.
When you applied to the eye area, the gold flakes may stick, giving the eyes a brighter feel.
Personally, I do not see any effect and will not be buying it after one bottle.
Its not worth the money, time and effort.

Well, I just could not resist trying it out.

Well, I did use up the whole bottle but I did not see any improvement to my eye area. The texture is gel-like form and its not oily. However, my eye bags and dark circles are still the same after using the whole bottle. I believe you can give it a miss.

The claim sounds so amazing that I thought I just need to try it out. It may be a marketing gimmick but you never know until you try it out.

With healthy flow of nutrition around the eye contour, Bio-Energy Eye Bag Vanishing Mask eliminates puffy eye bags without surgery.
With just 1 mask, it claimed that visible initial results of firming and lifting of eye bags can be seen and with regular use, appearance of wrinkles and crow's feet can be reduced.

One box contains 6 pairs and I used it whenever there is a special occasion coming up or when my eyes feel puffy. Actually I quite like this eye mask.
Its pretty wet but not as messy as the ZA eye mask.

After the mask, my eyes feels much rested and looks less puffy though I failed to see any lifting or firming effect. My eye bags and dark circles are also not that obvious.
Just remember not to wait until its all dried up before you peeled off the mask because by then, the dried mask may have "sucked" back all the moisture back from your eye area.
Use within the recommended time or just before it dries up.
