Acure Energizing Coffee Body Scrub Review

Product Description
Who says you can't have coffee in the shower? It's the best way to start your day. Coffee, lemon, charcoal and coconut will leave you energized and soft. We believe that skin wellness means helping your skin thrive with something hydrating with botanical ingredients. Thrive on!

I purchased Acure Brightening Body Scrub together with Energizing Coffee Body Scrub during my last Iherb purchase and have been using it since. I always have a soft spot for coffee body scrubs due to its aroma and its cellulite-busting benefits.

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Acure Energizing Coffee Body Scrub comes in a 177ml sized tube body scrub with a flick top cap. It has a nice coffee scent with a subtle hint of bitterness. The medium size granules contains charcoal powder and is recommended for oily to combination skin.

How To Use :
1) Apply to a wet body and scrub gently with your fingertips.
2) Rinse thoroughly.

note : Use 3x/week for glowing results

Performance and Ingredients

Paraben free, sulfate free, mineral oil free, petrolatum free, formaldehyde free and cruelty free, Acure Energizing Coffee Body Scrub provides a good body scrub with its medium sized granules with some moisturizing oils and is less abrasive than Acure Brightening Body Scrub.

Immediate smoother skin awaits you after the scrub and with its coffee aroma, it makes me look forward to using it twice a week. However, I think it may come across as slightly abrasive for those with sensitive and delicate skin.

You can consider my all-time favourite body scrub - Giovanni Hot Chocolate Sugar Scrub!

Aloe barbadensis leaf juice*, glycerin, coffea robusta seed powder, sodium methyl cocoyl taurate, sodium lauroamphoacetate, citrus limon (lemon) peel, sodium lauroyl lactylate, glyceryl laurate, sodium pca, cellulose gum, sodium cocoyl isethionate, gluconolactone, chamomilla recutita (matricaria) flower extract*, rubus fruticosus (blackberry) fruit extract*, euterpe oleracea fruit extract*, rosa canina fruit extract*, calendula officinalis flower extract*, aspalathus linearis leaf extract*, punica granatum extract*, mentha viridis (spearmint) leaf oil, salvia sclarea (clary) oil, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, cymbopogon flexuosus leaf oil, lavandula hybrida oil, cocos nucifera (coconut) fruit powder, xanthan gum, charcoal powder, ethylhexylglycerin, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate

Where To Purchase : Iherb | Amazon

Conclusion

To conclude, Acure Energizing Coffee Body Scrub is a nice coffee-scented body scrub recommended for oily to combination skin due to its inclusion of charcoal. The exfoliation is not that abrasive and gives rise to smoother skin but I still wouldn't recommend for sensitive and delicate skin due to its medium sized granules.

[ Review ] : Acure Brightening Body Scrub

Acure Brightening Body Scrub Review

Product Description
Acure Brightening Body Scrub is a brightening blend of clay, sea salt and niacinamide scrub with an exfoliating experience that will keep you soft and refreshed.

I use body scrubs on a regular basis to keep my skin soft, smooth and healthy. The skin is in a constant state of turnover where dead skin rises to the surface, sheds naturally and reveals the baby soft skin underneath. This process slows over time and contributes to a buildup of dead cells on the skin’s surface.

The goal of a body scrub is to remove dead skin cells and encourage the healthy production of new ones. It also helps to promote efficient circulation and skin cell turnover, smoothing and softening rough, dry skin and drawing out impurities and clearing congestion.

If you drink coffee on a regular basis, you can also mix used coffee grounds with coconut oil and salt/sugar to make your own body scrub to save some moolah. Check out my past body scrub reviews and what I have tried from Acure Organics.

Hailing from USA, Acure believe in the power of purity to uplift the way one feel. They source the highest quality ingredients and its mission is to take skin and hair from blah to brilliant by boosting the performance with powerful combinations of amazing ingredients. Their products do not contain  parabens, sulfates, formaldehyde, paraffin, mineral oil or animal testing.

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Acure Brightening Body Scrub is housed in a bright yellow 177ml sized tube that gives off a cheerful vibe. It has a subtle scent and the soft creamy nitty gritty texture is dark brown in colour which reminded me vaguely of I'm From Vitamin Tree Mask.

How To Use :
1) Apply to a wet body and scrub gently with your fingertips.
2) Rinse thoroughly.

note : Use 3x/week for glowing results.

Performance and Ingredients
Acure Brightening Body Scrub Texture

Acure Brightening Body Scrub has a nitty-gritty texture which may came across as slightly abrasive for sensitive skin. That said, it does provide a very smooth skin after exfoliation. However, I don't really notice any brightening effect from the scrub.

When its down to the last 20% contents, it became increasingly difficult to get the contents out of the tube and I have to cut it and decant them to a jar for easy access. As time goes by, the texture and colour started to remind me of poop at times. If you need something to scare the kids for fun, you can consider smearing them on your body and get them to clean it up for you. Perhaps through this test, you might realize which child is more dependable during old age? :P

Aloe barbadensis leaf juice*, glycerin, juglans regia (walnut) shell powder, sodium methyl cocoyl taurate, sodium lauroamphoacetate, illite, citrus limon (lemon) peel, sodium lauroyl lactylate, glyceryl laurate, sodium pca, cellulose gum, sodium cocoyl isethionate, citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) peel oil, gluconolactone, niacinamide, chamomilla recutita (matricaria) flower extract*, rubus fruticosus (blackberry) fruit extract*, euterpe oleracea fruit extract*, rosa canina fruit extract*, calendula officinalis flower extract*, aspalathus linearis leaf extract*, punica granatum extract*, eugenia caryophyllus (clove) leaf oil, citrus nobilis (mandarin orange) peel oil, xanthan gum, montmorillonite, kaolin, calcite, sea salt (maris sal) (sel marin), ethylhexylglycerin, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate
*certified organic

Where To Purchase : Iherb | Amazon

Conclusion

To conclude, Acure Brightening Body Scrub is a nice body scrub for smoother skin but it may be slightly abrasive for those with delicate skin. It also contains citrus oils so may not be suitable for those with sensitive skin.

Giovanni Hot Chocolate Sugar Scrub is my all-time favourite body scrub and Origins Smoothing Ginger Body Scrub is a great gentle body scrub with a divine scent.

Review : Acure Organics Sensitive Skin Body Wash

Product Description
Even the most sensitive skin will love our deep moisturizing body wash. CoQ10 and argan stem cells absorb deeply to replenish lost moisture. Serious, soothing hydration that rinses clean and feels fantastic.

Well, the description states that even the most sensitive skin will love Acure Organics Sensitive Skin Body Wash or so I thought. How wrong am I!

Review : Acure Brightening Facial Scrub

Product Description
"Seas" the day with natural exfoliation from the ocean! Organic sea kelp and lemon peel gently exfoliate your skin while French green clay removes impurities from your pores without taking your natural moisture with it. Organic chlorella growth factor and argan stem cells work to stimulate new cell growth and repair. Madonna lily stem cells help brighten. It's a deep cleansing, brightening experience. "Sea" the difference today!

Acure Brightening Facial Scrub has been receiving much love in the natural/organic enthusiasts community so its no wonder that I have to pick it up during one of my Iherb shopping days. A 118ml size goes for $11.82 and it is also vegan, sulfate-free, cruelty-free, PEG-free, petroleum-free, phthalate-free,silicone-free, gluten-free and synthetic fragrance-free.

Exfoliation is one of the keys to clearing dull skin and clogged pores so that radiant skin can emerge from within. The Acure Brightening Facial Scrub is said to do just that and more, with its argan stem cells and chlorella growth factor formula, stimulating new cell growth for fresh, radiant-looking skin although secretly, I wondered how a scrub can do just that, when its only on the skin for a mere few minutes.

Housed in a pliable soft white opaque tube, the dark green clay-like contents oozes out easily. It has a refreshing seaweed scent and applies easily on skin, with its gritty formula. On my sensitive skin, I found the beads to be slightly more abrasive than I would prefer. Even though, the scrub left my skin feeling super smooth and soft to the touch, however it also make my skin red and raw.
I gasp at their " thrice a week" recommendation because I can only use it once a week.

The scrub remnants can be rinsed off well but the smooth after-feel texture does not last well beyond a night. The following morning, my skin is back to its slightly rough and dehydrated state but better than without using the scrub.

According to Paula, even though Acure Brightening Facial Scrub contains beneficial antioxidants in the form of fruit extracts and plant oils but they are not useful in a rinse-off formula like a scrub. The abrasive agents like lemon peel also contain fragrant compounds that would cause redness and inflammation in skin.

The Acure Brightening Facial Scrub scored 4.2 from 17 users on Makeupalley.

Review : Acure Dark Chocolate + Mint Argan Oil Lip Balm

Product Description
USDA Certified Organic Lip Balm. You wouldn't want chemicals on your lips now would you? Why not use food grade certified organic protection? This silky, smooth lip balm provides serious protection for dry and cracked lips. Prepare to be kissable!

Housed in a twist and turn tube, Acure Dark Chocolate + Mint Argan Oil Lip Balm makes it a perfect companion on the go, which is why I always have it in my bag. With its name, I expected that it would be a brown coloured lip balm akin to a chocolate type but it is not. Looking at the list of ingredients, the bulk of it is made of beewax, coconut oil, olive oil and shea butter, which explains why it is light yellow in colour.

USDA Organic, with food grade ingredients, Acure Dark Chocolate + Mint Argan Oil Lip Balm is also paraben-free, vegan, gluten-free, synthetic fragrance-free, silicon-free and phthalate-free.

It has a lovely shea butter scent, with a light minty sensation after application that keeps your lips feeling tingly. I hardly detect any whiff of the chocolate scent. The lip balm glides well without being tacky. It may feel slightly greasy to some, but it is just meant to moisturise the lips.

Despite its awesome 100% organic ingredients, the Acure lip balm does not moisturise dehydrated chapped lips but only helps to maintain its condition, hence I wouldn't reach for it, when my lips is desperately needing some fix.

If you don't work in a daily air-conditioned office, this lip balm may just work for you. Quote OKI787 to get up to US$10 off your first purchase or start shopping in iHerb now.

Ingredients :
Organic beeswax, organic coconut oil, organic olive oil, organic shea butter, organic cocoa butter, organic hempseed oil, organic peppermint, organic spearmint, organic chocolate flavor oil, organic argan oil, tocopherol (vitamin E)

After hearing good things about the brand, I promptly picked upAcure Organics Lemongrass + Argan Stem Cell Shampoo and Conditioner from Iherb. You can quote OKI787 to get up to US$10 off your first purchase in Iherb.
Seeing that it is a clarifying shampoo, I thought it will be one of those clarifying shampoo in the market where it will be harsh on the hair and is recommended to be used once or twice a week, to get rid of all the styling products build-up. However, Acure Organics Lemongrass + Argan Stem Cell Shampoo is certainly not so, and is touted to be gentle enough for everyday use.

Housed in a pliable soft tube with a flick-top opening, the hint of lemongrass scent is refreshing. The shampoo with its fluid contents lathers slightly and like what it states, it is indeed gentle, but too gentle for my likes as it failed to cleanse my hair properly, with all the hair mousse and wax still tangible in my hair. I even try washing my hair twice but the outcome is still the same.
On normal hair without wax and mousse, the shampoo cleanses well, in its mild gentle way and is best for everyday use. To say that it is a clarifying shampoo, it will be a disappointment because it is certainly not capable of that.

Slightly creamier in texture, with a heavier lemongrass and citrus scent, the Acure Organics Lemongrass + Argan Stem Cell conditioner helps to detangle and make the hair smooth when there is no product build-up after using the shampoo. My hair feels and appears less frizzy with shampoo in use.

  • I heard good things about Acure Organics so I decided to pick up this from Iherb after reading positive reviews about the product.

At 235ml, it is packaged in a tube that made dispensing the lotion easy. The scent smells wonderfully fresh and tangy and the texture is not thick but lightweight yet creamy. It gets absorbed into the skin pretty quickly without leaving any greasy or sticky after-feel and made my skin feels smooth.

In terms of moisturizing, it works well but in terms of firming capability, it isn't that effective as I do not see an improvement in the firming aspect or better toned thighs and bums. You can shop Acure Organics Lemongrass + Moroccan Argan Oil Firming Body Lotion on Amazon or purchase it from Iherb.

    Ingredients :
Organic curoxidant blend (organic euterpe oleracea (acai) berry, organic rubus fruticosus (blackberry), organic rosa canina (rosehips), organic punica granatum (pomegranate), organic calendula officinalis (calendula), organic matricaria recutita (chamomile), fair trade certified organic aspalathus linearis (rooibos), organic camellia sinensis (mango ceylon), organic aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice, fair trade certified organic theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, organic carthamus tinctorius (safflower) seed oil, organic cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, glyceryl stearate SE (vegetable derived), vegetable glycerin, organic helianthus annuus (sunflower) oil, infusion of organic calendula officinalis flower in fair trade certified organic olea europaea (olive) oil, organic argania spinosa (argan) oil, glucono delta lactone (fermented sugar), d-alpha tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), organic oenothera biennis (evening primrose) oil, potassium sorbate (food grade preservative), centella asiatica (gotu kola) stem cell culture, organic chlorella pyrenoidosa extract (chlorella growth factor), marrubium vulgare (white horehound) stem cell culture, echinacea stem cell culture, lactobacillus/fermented resveratrol extract, CoQ10, olea europaea (olive) leaf extract, cymbopogon schoenanthus (lemongrass), lavandula dentata (French lavender), evernia prunastri (oakmoss), & rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) essential oils.

    - Fair trade certified ingredients

Acure Organics products contain very good ingredients and this is the 2nd product from the body range which I am currently using. The only pet peeve is the poor packaging as the contents tend to pool around the cap as you place it in the upright position in the bathroom.

It took me awhile to get used to its exotic scent which seemed to be a mixture of berries and coconuts. The shower gel foams well and provides a luxury wash with its pampered lathering.
As the name implies, it certainly feels hydrating on the body. My skin feels soft and smooth after each wash.

Get this from Iherb for US$8.62 and quote OKI787 to get up to US$10 off your first purchase.

Acure Organics Body Wash Stimulating Moroccan Argan Stem Cell + Argan Oil

    Product Description
This Cell Stimulating body wash moisturizes as it cleanses. With Moroccan Argan Stem Cells, Organic Argan Oil, CoQ10, Sea Buckthorn Oil, and Pumpkin Seed Oil, your skin will glow with renewed radiance.

    Features
    • Leaves skin smooth and soft
    • Feeds and restores cells
    • 100% biodegradable, Made in the USA
    • Great for all skin types
    • Paraben free, Vegan, Gluten free, Synthetic fragrance free, Silicone free, Phthalate free
    • Fair trade certified ingredients

This was a new brand which I picked up from my last purchase from Iherb. I heard good things about its skincare products but decided to try its bodycare products first.

Acure Organics is based on a sustainable principle to provide the highest quality fair trade, natural and certified organic personal care products. Each of their products is free from animal testing, parabens, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, harmful preservatives and artificial colors. You can check more on the brand here.

The packaging itself is in a tube form which isn't very practical in the bathroom, left standing there. Because the gel texture just oozes out easily and pooling around the cap. The smell wasn't something I was used to initially but has grown accustomed to it now.

It lathers and foams well. The name itself certainly sounds like a mouthful and the ingredients are good stuff for the body. I have nothing much to complain about it, except that perhaps they need to re-look into the packaging.

    Ingredients :
Organic Euterpe oleracea (acai) berry, organic rubus fruticosus (blackberry), organic rosa canina (rosehips), organic punica granatum (pomegranate), Organic Fair Trade Certified™ rooibos, organic aloe barbadensis vera leaf juice, sodium lauroyl methyl isethionate (from coconut), 100% naturally derived betaine (from sugar beets), vegetable gylcerine, sodium methyl cocoyl taurate (from coconut + amino acids), sodium cocoyl glutamate (from coconut + amino acids), cocoglucosides hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride (sugar conditioner) , sodium levulinate (from corn), guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride (guar gum conditioner), potassium sorbate (food grade preservative), organic agania spinosa (argan) oil, Organic Fair Trade Certified™ olea europea (olive) oil, d-alpha tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), hippophae rhamnoides (sea buckthorn) seed oil, organic curcubita pepo (pumpkin) seed oil, ubiquinone (CoQ10) , argania spinosa (argan stem cells), glycerophosphoinositol lysine (from sunflower), almond extract, cinnamonomum aroaticum (cassia bark) oil
