Review : Erborian Yuza Double Lotion

Product Description
A multibenefit lotion with two phases that work together to help bring radiance and nourishment to the skin. For an extra dosage of radiance, this liquid lotion gives an out-of-the-shower glow and helps skin appear refreshed under makeup. The formulas combination of oily and aqua phases helps nourish dull and lackluster skin while revealing a radiant glow. Enriched with the antioxident properties of yuza, this milky lotion helps leave skin looking radiant and smooth.

Key Ingredients :
Yuza : Naturally energizing with brightening properties, with antioxidants that strengthen skin barrier.
Licorice : Reduces Melanin production to visibly reduce pigmentation.
Sodium Hyaluronate : Known as salt of Hyaluronic Acid that helps to moisturise skin.

I owned a 30ml sample size of the Erborian Yuza Double Lotion which was part of my purchase from Sephora earlier this year. It is said to exude a nourishing glow no matter how exhausted you are, due to the water-in-oil emulsion concoction that is enriched with antioxidants to nourish the lusterless complexion to escort hydration back to the skin.

Erborian Yuza Double Lotion is my very first product from the brand and the zesty citrus scent is definitely right up my alley. Paraben-free, sulfate-free and phthalate-free, this lotion is meant to be used as a toner, before moisturiser. You can swipe it all over the face using cotton pads or douse the lotion on thin cotton pads to be used as a lotion mask on skin.

However, since the Double Lotion is a bi-phase lotion, please be reminded to shake the bottle before every usage, in order to mix both the oily and the aqua phases.

Erborian Yuza Double Lotion has a lotion consistency with a slightly oily feel that tends to make my face alittle shiny pretty quickly, about 1 hour after application. And since I have combination skin, my skin looks like an oily wok and I have to dab on the shiny areas with a tissue.

And yet, because of this oily film left behind and the inclusion of Cyclomethicone ( a type of silicone ), it also makes my skin soft and smooth. However, it does not really hydrate the skin, in fact, when I used it alone, my combination with dehydrated surface skin feels tight, taut and parched. A moisturiser is highly recommended to be used after the Double Lotion.

As a lotion mask, my skin looked slightly brighter after each session but is still lacking in moisture, with a parched uncomfortable sensation during the masking duration.

In a nutshell, despite seeing results as a lotion mask, I don't think Erborian Yuza Double Lotion works well on my skin type. The tight and taut sensation is not a pleasant experience.

This product scored 4.3 from 3 users on Makeupalley with 100% of them willing to repurchase.
