Biotherm has been my first love for many years and it has supported me during my worst times, however as age creeps up, its time to include other skincare benefits like anti-aging and brightening so its when I strayed to other brands. I still return to Biotherm occasionally because no one knows my skin, like Biotherm does but not every product in Biotherm is a hit, there were some misses too.

However, if your skin requires moisturising and hydration, then Biotherm moisturisers would be my top recommendation to you. Their Aquasource range works for me, every single time. Unfortunately, they always change their formula, so my old-time favourites would always be replaced after some time.

Since last year, Biotherm has this interesting facial mist, simply known as Biotherm Aquasource Essence-In-Mist. At 75ml, its pretty compact and such sizes tend to get depleted in my hands pretty fast because I get over-zealous when it comes to misting my face.

According to Biotherm's training manager, you can use Aquasource Essence-In-Mist after exercising ( dry your skin first ) to instantly cool your skin down by 3°C where the absorption rate of the skincare ingredients is also improved due to the increased blood circulation after exercise. Another common scenario, is to use it on a flight, whenever you need to freshen up.

As for me, I used it every morning and evening, after cleansing, before essence, moisturiser or facial oils. I prefer to use facial mists when I am applying facial oil as a moisturiser though. Anyway, do keep in mind that, skincare products get absorbed better when your skin is damp, so its best to apply moisturisers right after shower.

Housed in this pretty aerosol opaque bottle in gradual blue tones, Biotherm Aquasource Essence-In-Mist is handy and portable, with a good grip even in my small hands, until you try to use the spray......

It has the typical Biotherm fragrance, a little strong for my likes though. Unlike other facial mists I have tried before, Aquasource Essence-In-Mist has a angular dispersion with lots of "wind", together with the misting action, to simulate a diffusion effect. Hence, the mist is very fine, so fine that I can't even feel it on my face which made me spray much more than necessary.

Adding to it, the depression nozzle does not work as well as I thought it would be. It requires slightly more strength than normal.

That said, this facial mist does makes my skin feel comfortable, refreshing and rested. I use this in conjunction with Jurlique Balancing Facial Oil which works well together. However, when I tried to use this, prior to SKII Facial Treatment Essence and SKII R.N.A Power, my skin turned red and itchy. I have since skipped using this to pair with the above SKII products.

You can find the list of ingredients here with Ceteareth-12 as a potential cause of concern.
Ceteareth-12, a surfactant/ emulsifying agent has an EWG rating of 3-7, depending on usage. Research indicates that it may be contaminated with impurities linked to cancer and other health concerns.
It is found in the last 1/3 of the ingredient list which meant that the percentage of it, is not that high.
