The Grown Alchemist Anti-oxidant Facial Oil with Rosehip and Camellia Seed is part of the Skin Strengthening prescription set which I purchased from Australia several months back. According to the promoter, it can be used on its own, or layered after the Grown Alchemist Detox Serum Antioxidant+3 Complex.

When I used it in the morning before I left the house, I tend to use the whole set, from toner, to serum, facial oil and finished it off with the day cream. However, if I will be at home the whole day, I tend to use it more simply - the toner and this facial oil and thats it.

This antioxidant facial oil comes in a dark amber dropper glass bottle which helps to protect the contents from sunlight. 2 drops are usually enough for my whole face, if I am layering after the Grown Alchemist Detox Serum Antioxidant+3 Complex and before the Day Cream. However, if I am using it alone, I tend to use 3 drops for a more sufficient hydration to last me the whole day.

With just these few drops, you can imagine how lasting each bottle is, despite it being just 20ml. In fact, my Grown Alchemist Detox Serum Antioxidant+3 Complex at 30ml depletes in half the time than this Grown Alchemist Anti-oxidant Facial Oil.

The herbal scent from the oil smells pretty good and can simply lift up and soothe the senses early in the morning. In terms of texture, it is concentrated but not greasy. On the contrary, it is so quick absorbing, that I have to quickly massage it into my skin before it disappears. No kidding!

I love how my skin felt, after application. Velvety smooth, softer and much nourished. In about 3 months of consistent usage, my skin looks much more even-toned and the oil on my combination skin is much better controlled. However, a skin analysis from Estetica recently, reflected that the hydration level on my skin did not fare much better. That, I have to agree.

The Grown Alchemist Anti-oxidant Facial Oil with Rosehip and Camellia Seed does not perform well on dehydrated or parched skin. It works well to maintain the skin condition but not as an emergency fix.

Somehow, I always felt that facial oil does not perform well on my skin, in terms of hydration concerns.
