Geek & Gorgeous has two A-Game serums - A-Game 10 and A-Game 5 where A-Game 10 is a 0.1% Retinal Serum and A-Game 5 is a 0.05% Retinal Serum. 

I only started using retinol in 2020 and it wasn't a staple in my routine until late last year, however, I was game to try out A-Game 10 as I have used Allies of Skin Retinal & Peptides Repair Night Cream, 5erenity2 Renew Serum, Sisters By Pearry's First Care Essence and Somethinc 1% Pure Retinol + Squalane before. 

Retinoids are a category of skincare products beloved for their skin-firming and acne-clearing abilities. You might know these products or ingredients by any number of names, including retinol, retinoid, tretinoin, retinaldehyde, retinoic acid, and Vitamin A. And while none of these words means exactly the same thing, they all share similar abilities when applied topically. Just embrace the category of retinoids, which is also more commonly referred to as “retinols.”

There is a plethora of data showing that consistent retinoid use minimizes fine lines, evens skin tone, smooths texture, and decreases acne.

When you apply any retinoid product to your skin, the vitamin A from which it is derived converts to its active form, retinoic acid. This tells your skin to increase cellular regeneration and collagen production and this action triggers the smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles, improved skin tone, texture, and clarity, while brightening the look of dark marks and age spots.

Retinoids increase the rapidity in which the outer layers of the skin turn over. This can be helpful for unclogging pores, removing dead skin cells, preventing acne, and also as an antiaging medication. With regular use, people are able to achieve a glow-like appearance to their skin and less crinkliness.

Geek & Gorgeous B-Bomb is a light and hydrating 10% Niacinamide (aka Vitamin B3), Zinc PCA & Sarcosine formula to help combination skin related problems, such as enlarged pores, oiliness & blemishes.

Niacinamide is a multi-functional superstar ingredient that can normalize pores, soothe acne-prone skin, improve the skin barrier and even lighten hyperpigmentation. This formula contains a whopping 10%, ideal to improve the appearance of acne and blemish-prone skin. Zinc PCA and Sarcosine are added to help enlarged pores, oiliness and blemishes. 

Sounds like the perfect product for my combination skin but does it work? Lets delve down...

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Geek & Gorgeous B-Bomb comes in a 30ml amber-coloured dropper bottle with no fragrance and has an unbelievable lightweight texture that is so easy to layer with other products. 

How To Use :

Apply a few drops to the face after cleansing (+ toning and exfoliating), but before using emulsions and/or creams. Can be used either in the AM and/or PM.

It can be used on its own, or you can add it to another product as a Niacinamide Booster e.g. your moisturizer or our HA 5 Serums - just put a few drops of each into your palm or apply a few drops of them directly to your face at the same time and pat them on together. Please do not add B-Bomb directly to acids, such as exfoliating acids or pure Vitamin C - you can use them in the same routine together layered on top of each other, but they don't mix well directly (e.g. in your palm).  

Shelf life: 2 years from production (unopened), 6 months PAO (period after opening)

Performance and Ingredients

B-Bomb is gentle and non-drying though not particularly hydrating. I love the lightweight watery texture of the product, which sinks in nicely and integrates well into routines with multiple layers. The thin gel consistency does not pill and plays well with the other products in a well-rounded skincare routine. I enjoyed layering it prior to Geek & Gorgeous Stress Less for an additional layer of hydration.

Product Description

Geek & Gorgeous Stress Less is a light and silky gel formula with high amounts of Beta-Glucan from Oat and Madecassoside from Centella Asiatica to soothe and repair the skin. It is recommended for those with skin concerns such as sensitivity, irritation, weakened barrier and dehydration. 

I received several Geek & Gorgeous products from Worthee Cosmetics namely Stress Less, A-Game, B-Bomb, Calm Down and aPAD. It was a brand which I have been wanting to try but it was not easily available where I am so I am excited that Worthee Cosmetics carry them in their online store. 

Hailing from Hungary, Geek & Gorgeous refers to geek formulas for gorgeous skin as the brand is said to maximize what is good for the skin and minimize everything else. Most of their products are Malassezia-safe, vegan and 100% cruelty-free.
