Initially, I didn't enjoy using this milk cleanser as much as I thought I would. Being a fan of cleansing milks, I am used to some formulas having a layer of a moisturising veil after cleansing but La Roche-Posay Dermo-Cleanser was on another level.
The texture was sticky and the moisturising residue that was left behind after cleansing felt thick and made me feel like my face was unclean so I struggled to use it daily. I purchased it when I was briefly pregnant ( miscarriage thereafter ) and I didn't have another cleanser to fall back to.
It also doesn't really remove heavier makeup. In normal circumstances, I don't use cleansing milks to remove makeup, but I was trying to reduce the number of products I am using when I was pregnant so La Roche-Posay Dermo-Cleanser doubled up as my makeup remover then.
I stopped using it after I had a miscarriage and went back to my regular cleansers. In a bid to use up my opened products, I gave this cleanser another chance several months later and viola, it felt different.
I actually enjoyed using it now. La Roche-Posay Dermo-Cleanser felt like a regular milk cleanser that I was used to. No suffocating and thick moisturising residue. Yay! Not sure what happened back then, but I am sure glad I gave this another chance.
La Roche-Posay Dermo-Cleanser always left my face clean, soft and supple. Gentle and mild, I use it as a second cleanse only, and cleanses off with water.
AQUA / WATER • ETHYLHEXYL PALMITATE • GLYCERIN • DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL • CARBOMER • SODIUM HYDROXIDE • CAPRYL GLYCOL / CAPRYLYL GLYCOL • ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN
Conclusion
To conclude, La Roche-Posay Dermo-Cleanser is a milky cleanser which took me a while to actually enjoyed using it. It is gentle and worked great as the the second cleanse, leaving my skin clean, soft and supple.
