Kbeauty has been the bulk of my skincare products for the past couple of years but I am slowly incorporating more Made In Japan products. My recent reviews were Hirosophy EGF Moisture Mask and Honeyce Deep Moist Shampoo and Treatment.

S-Labo G-Mask Placenta Essence Face Mask helps to fight anti-aging and improve skin’s elasticity by promoting collagen production so that one can experience firmer and tighter skin. No additional fragrances and preservatives were added. 6-in-1 anti-aging face mask to firm and smooth the skin.

How To Use :
1) Take out mask from packet, align and fit onto cleansed face.
2) Leave mask on for 15-20 mins before wiping excess essence over face.
Each box contains 5 individually packed sheet masks with each mask folded neatly in its packaging. The eye flaps were such a bonus treat and you can have a lie-down session for a mini spa session for both the face and eyes.
There was a strong scent when layered on the skin but it soon dissipated quickly after that. It reminded me of an alcohol scent although the ingredients wasn't found in the list.
The cutting of the sheet mask isn't perfect with some excess material near to the temples. Material is of medium thickness. Skin was comforted and nourished with a dewy glow. However on dehydrated skin days, I can detect a slight taut sensation on the upper lips area after a 15 minute masking session.

The key ingredients are....
Placental Protein : Works as a film forming, protecting and restructuring agent. Due to its high amino acid content, it improves surface hydration and elasticity and due to its larger peptide and protein molecules, it forms a nice film on the skin that reduces trans-epidermal-water-loss (i.e. hinders water evaporating out of the top layers of the skin). These effects help to maintain the water content of the skin cells and result in a healthy skin and nice complexion.
Rosa Damascena Phytoplacenta Culture Extract : Promotes skin moisturizing, soothing and brightening effects. Contains anti-aging benefits too.

Similarly to the Placenta Essence Face Mask, these S-Labo Arbutin Essence Face Mask comes in 5 individually packed sheet masks in a box where each mask comes with eye flaps as well. Strangely, it also has a whiff of alcohol scent although its not listed in the ingredient list.
With a medium thickness material, the sheet mask adhered moderately well with slight excess material near the temples, hence its not a perfect cutting.
Layering the mask provides a refreshing and cooling sensation which is much welcomed after a tired day at work, however, there was a subtle taut sensation on the skin 5 minutes into the masking session and a parched sensation after removing the mask.
That said, the sheet mask left my skin looking less dull but brighter, fresh-looking, softer and smoother. A pity about the parched sensation which was not a pleasant experience.

Arbutin : Used traditionally in Japan and can be found naturally in a couple of plants, including the leaves of pear trees, wheat and bearberry. Its major benefit is to lighten skin coloration, even out tones and reduce levels of dark pigmentations
Coix Lacryma-Jobi Ma-yuen Seed Extract : Also known as Job's Tears/Pearl Barley, it is a popular ingredient in Taiwanese, Japanese and Korean skincare. Thanks to its vitamin and antioxidant contents, it helps in skin brightening and reducing dark spots by regulating the skin’s melanin production. High in Vitamin B3, also known as Niacinamide, which brightens skin and evens out complexion. Also rich in peptides, it firms the skin and prevents signs of aging.

I purchased a sheet of this mask, together with another 2 sheets of Placenta and Arbutin before getting individual boxes of the Placenta and Arbutin several months later, without realizing I already have them at home. HAHA. This rarely happened to me as I usually know what is in my stash. Guess my masks collection must have been overwhelming!
Containing a floral fragrance, the sheet mask with medium thickness comes with eye flaps for a spa-like session. It also has excess material near the temples making it not the perfect fit, but its still manageable. Skin was left feeling slightly smoother.

The key ingredients are....
Ubiquinone : Also known as Coenzyme Q10, this is an antioxidant to prevent both chronological aging (loss of firmness in skin as you get older) and photoaging (wrinkling and drying of skin from excessive sun exposure).
Polyquaternium-51 Schizosaccharomyces Ferment Filtrate : a good skin moisturizer, leaves a silky, smooth feel on the skin and can help to reduce irritation.

Conclusion
To conclude, S-Labo G-Mask Placenta Essence Face Mask, S-Labo G-Mask Arbutin Essence Face Mask and S-Labo G-Mask Coenzyme Q10 Essence Face Mask worked relatively well for me.
Go for the Placenta if you are looking for a dewy glow, Arbutin for brighter skin and Coenzyme Q10 for smoother touch! They were not insanely hydrating so may not be suitable for dehydrated and dry skin types.
