After a 4 months ( Jan - April 20 ) successful no-buy last year, I wanted to target a no-buy to low-buy for this year. I purchased a non-skincare product for January, which was to cover my peeking greys so thats not so bad, right? HAHA. No-buy February ended with a success. Phew!
I received the beautifully wrapped package from Justrend. I applaud the effort made in wrapping the parcel with a red paper-plastic bag and a repurposed gift box to make it look presentable. Thumbs-up to the great eco-friendly effort! I wish more companies can do that to reduce waste.

I was invited to IDS to experience the IDS skincare journey and received these products after a short skin consultation with Dr. Michelle Wong to target my skin woes. After reading up on all the products provided, I am indeed excited to start on my journey with IDS.
After a bad experience with 3 weeks continuous breakouts from changing my whole skincare routine back in 2009 ( at the insistence of the beauty director at True Beauty ), I was careful this time by introducing only 1 new product at a time even though I was told to use them all together. This would also be easier for me to troubleshoot any issues, if any. I followed this " 1 new product at a time" religiously since young.
I was a little worried when Dr. Wong recommended blemished-prone products ( T1, C1, PF ) for my skin type as they tend to be drying. I had a bad experience with Nuskin products years ago after their skin analyzer machine determined my skin as oily, dispensed products for me which made my skin super drying.

While on a search for hair mascaras to cover my peeking greys, I chanced upon the hair shadow which was to cover sparse hair spots. Someone commented that it worked for peeking greys so I got one to try. There were complimentary samples enclosed with the package but a foaming cleanser sample was torn while I was opening/cutting the small package. Urgh.

Won a giveaway on My Natural Story on Instagram. Unfortunately, the 2 full sized products were expiring this year, one in June and one in September. This is the 3rd giveaway which I won that has 2 - 3 months expiry dates. It definitely doesn't feel good as it meant they were just trying to clear their inventory.
I have given away the last 2 products which I won in giveaways as I know I won't be able to use them in time and I don't like to waste them. I wish such brands would at least inform us beforehand so that it would not leave us with a bad after-taste.
