Review : AESOP Parsley Seed Antioxidant Eye Serum

Product Description
A potent serum formulated to hydrate and protect the skin around the eyes. This concentrated, vitamin-rich serum delivers targeted hydrated and nourishment to the delicate skin surrounding the eyes. Abundant in antioxidants and fatty acids, it possesses exceptional protective benefits

I purchased AESOP Parsley Seed Antioxidant Eye Serum from Melbourne last year, since it was relatively cheaper than in Singapore. I needed an eye gel and the AESOP promoter highly recommended this eye serum.

After hearing much raves about AESOP and its plant-based ingredients, this eye serum was my first foray into the brand in a full-sized content. I have tried out sample sachets of its Facial Hydrating Cream and the Exfoliating Paste previously, which were provided together with this eye serum purchase.

Oxidation occurs everyday as part of our metabolic functioning which unfortunately, releases free radicals that can damage healthy cells. Other than food, topical application of antioxidants are also encouraged which is where the Parsley Seed Skin Care range comes in, with its Vitamin A (Beta-Carotene), C (Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphateand) and E (Tocopherol) that assist in repairing and protecting surface cells.

AESOP Parsley Seed Antioxidant Eye Serum comes in a 15ml pharmaceutical-grade amber glass bottle ( to protect and stabilize the active botanical extracts ) with a dropper cap where the dropper dispenses each drop easily. I love the soothing lavender scent which dissipates as soon as it dries up.

Lightweight with a quick-absorbing gel texture, the eye serum is silicone-free and applies effortlessly. Despite that it appeared to be greasy, it is hardly oily at all and in fact, absorbs readily into my dry undereye area.

As strange as it may sound, the eye serum actually made my undereye area feel dry on the first try. And very uncomfortable to the point that I thought my undereye area is going to crack. No kidding.
I am not sure if this "tightness" is supposed to reflect its "firming", if any. My undereye area is already dry, so I did not want another product to aggravate it further.

I stopped using it after my first try and tried again a week later. This time, I did not experience any dryness or tightness but the serum feels normal on the skin. Like disappear into "nothingness" except leaving a slight tackiness behind.

And since AESOP Parsley Seed Antioxidant Eye Serum is touted to be an eye serum, I added an eye cream ( Clinique All About Eyes ) after it. My eye area feels much hydrated than using the eye serum on its own.
Because, sad to say, the eye serum which costs me AUD81 is hardly impressive. I didn't see a significant improvement to my undereye area. That said, the bottle lasts for a while, about 7~8 months which is just right, within its freshness window of 9 months ( denoted by a bottle cap symbol on the bottle ).

The Parsley Seed Antioxidant Eye Serum scored 2.7 from 15 users on Makeupalley.
