Product Description
A new generation styling product with fruit micro-oils that infuses hair with brilliant shine for long-lasting in-control style.
Brilliantine Shine Glistening Drops is a lightweight shine enhancer for all hair types. The drops work on damp hair for easy combing and detangling. On dry hair, the drops work to smooth and control frizz. Hair is left with a high gloss healthy shine.
One of the drugstore haircare finds in USA which I always like to check out is the brand Garnier Fructis. I have previously used its Shine Glossing Spray and now I am moving on to its Glistening Drops. I usually get their products on Drugstore if there is a good promotion.
I like shine on my hair, if possible. But its not always easy to find something that can defrizz, add shine, detangle, soften and condition the hair all at the same time, without weighing the hair down. I don't layer alot of products on my hair, so a good leave-on conditioner is important to me.
I bought this 59ml bottle at US$3.43 sometime back and has managed to use up 60% of it within a month, on a daily basis, so each bottle probably can last me for less than 2 months.
It comes in a clear bottle with a press dispenser as shown above. Due to the curvature and smooth texture of the dispenser, it can get abit cumbersome to dispense the contents. Basically, its best to estimate the quantity that you need and just use it within 1 press. Because your hands would be oily from the serum and it gets difficult to depress on the dispenser the 2nd time round as its slippery. It is a great size for travelling though.
For my long thick hair, I need about one 50cent coin of quantity, rub inbetween my palms and spread as evenly as possible from mid-length to the end of the hair length.
It has a sweet peachy fruity scent and the clear texture is slightly gel-like with an oily-feel infused with a bit of shine. You need more to see the desired effect. I have tried using two 50cents coins of quantities and really like the defined, natural and tousled curls however by tea time, my scalp and crown are left feeling greasy and yucky which stuck to my forehead.
On damp hair, its supposed to provide easy combing and detangling effect but I don't see that on my hair. My tangled hair ends is still bad and combing is definitely not easy. It does provide a subtle shine, making it looking slightly healthier.
On dry hair, its touted to smooth and control frizz which I do see it. The frizz is immediately tamed down right after application and hair is slightly smoother but not all the frizz is totally tamed. The overall hair frizz just looked slightly better and shinier.
On freshly washed hair, this works very well. It smoothens the frizziness, made the hair look shinier with a healthier look and hair felt smooth and soft. Even my detangled ends were much better, less tangled.
However, I tend to use leave-on conditioner on damp hair ( and not on freshly washed hair, as I usually wash my hair in the night ) due to my styling needs, so I don't use it on dry hair most of the time. It scored 4.3 from 24 users on Makeupalley .
If looking at a natural point of view, most people may not choose this product, based on the many silicones in the list, as well as having cyclopentasiloxane. You are read more about it on EWG
