I purchased Coco & Eve Daily Water Gel during a Sephora sale and has previously emptied Coco & Eve Body Sunscreen SPF 50+ .
Packaging, Scent and Texture
Coco & Eve Daily Water Gel SPF50+ comes in a compact 60ml squeeze tube that is lightweight and convenient for everyday use. The slim nozzle allows for precise dispensing, helping you control the amount of product without unnecessary wastage. Paired with a cap, the packaging keeps the sunscreen hygienic and leak-proof, perfect for tossing into your handbag, gym pouch, or travel kit.
In terms of texture, this sunscreen has a white lotion consistency with a cooling, refreshing sensation upon application. It spreads smoothly and evenly across the skin, making it comfortable for daily wear.
The formula is fragrance-free, with no added scent and none of the typical “sunscreen smell,” making it suitable for sensitive skin or those who prefer minimalist skincare. It is also alcohol-free, so it feels gentle and non-drying even with consistent daily application.

How To Use:
1) Use daily as a last step of your skincare routine.
2) Apply an even layer on skin 20 minutes before sun exposure.

Performance and Ingredients
At 60ml, Coco & Eve Daily Water Gel SPF50+ offers a generous size compared to many standard facial sunscreens, making it great value for daily sun protection.
When I first tested it on my face, the texture felt nourishing but leaned on the richer side for my combination skin. It left a noticeable dewy finish that appeared slightly greasy and shiny on me. I was able to mattify the shine using my favourite RMS Beauty “Un” Powder, which helped tone down the glow initially.
However, after about two hours of wear, my combination skin became oilier, especially around the T-zone. If you have oily or combination skin and prefer a matte sunscreen, this may feel a little heavy for all-day facial wear.
I eventually repurposed it as a sunscreen for the neck and arms. On the body, it performs better, though it can feel slightly tacky in humid weather. I personally find it more comfortable to use on work-from-office days in an air-conditioned environment, where the tackiness are minimized after awhile.
The 5 UV filters are....
Homosalate : An organic compound that belongs to salicylates. It is an ester formed from salicylic acid and 3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexanol, a derivative of cyclohexanol. Salicylates prevent direct skin exposure to the sun’s harmful rays by absorbing ultraviolet (UV) light. Homosalate specifically absorbs short-wave UVB rays, which are associated with DNA damage and increased risk of skin cancer.
Octyl Salicylate : Ethylhexyl Salicylate ( also known as Ethylhexyl Salicylate or Octisalate ) is an organic compound used as an ingredient in sunscreens and cosmetics to absorb UVB (ultraviolet) rays from the sun. Although the Cosmetics Ingredient Review notes that reproductive and developmental toxicity can occur in relation to Salicylic Acid, one of the two primary components of Ethylhexyl Salicylate, it has determined that the levels used in cosmetic and beauty products would not cause any adverse reaction. Importantly, the FDA has approved Ethylhexyl Salicylate for use in sunscreen with up to 5% concentration. Ethylhexyl Salicylate receives an EWG hazard rating of 4.
Avobenzone : Also known as Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, it appears to be relatively non-toxic and non-irritating to the skin. However, because it is often used in conjunction with photo-stabilizers, there is a greater risk for skin irritation and low-level toxicity. Furthermore, some studies have demonstrated it to be absorbed by the body and secreted into urine, and is therefore not recommended to use on children or pregnant women
However tests have revealed Avobenzone’s tendency to significantly degrade in light over time, lessening its sun protection capabilities. For this reason, most sunscreens containing the ingredient also include photo-stabilizing ingredients like octocrylene.
Ethylhexyl Triazone : A new generation, chemical sunscreen that gives the highest photo-stable absorption of all available UVB filters today. Also known as Octyl Triazone and Uvinul T 150.
Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid : An organic compound used in sunscreens and other cosmetic and beauty products with a sunscreen or SPF component because of its ability to block UVB rays. It is known in the United States as Ensuizole, according to Wikipedia. Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid has the ability to block UVB rays, but does not protect against long range UVA rays; because of this, it is often paired with other ingredients, including avobenzone, titanium dioxide, zinc oxide or Tinosorb. Its potency and protective qualities do not degrade in sun exposure, and it is possible that is also partly decreases the degradation of other UVB blocker ingredients in sunscreens. Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid also has the ability to convert incident ultraviolet radiation into less damaging infrared radiation, or heat. It has a light, non-greasy finish
However, do note that it also contains Butyloctyl Salicylate, another chemical UV filter not registered as a sunscreen active yet.
Butyloctyl Salicylate : Helps to increase the SPF rating and enhance the stability of other UV filters like Oxybenzone and Avobenzone. It is not reef-safe. Currently not registered as a sunscreen active yet.
Said to be the modified version of the chemical UV filter Octisalate which was created intentionally by the sunscreen industry to avoid having Octislate on the ingredient listing as a declared active and used by formulators to disguise the presence of a ‘chemical’ UV filter in mineral sunscreen formulas. It is also used to reduce the amount of inorganic mineral filters needed to get a desired labelled SPF and PPD rating. (source)

Conclusion
To conclude, Coco & Eve Daily Water Gel SPF50+ offers generous product size, hydrating ingredients, and high sun protection in an alcohol-free, fragrance-free formula. It performs best as a moisturizing sunscreen, making it more suitable for normal to dry skin types who prefer a dewy, radiant finish.
For my combination skin, the finish was a little too shiny for full-day facial wear, especially in humid weather. While it can be mattified with setting powder, oil breakthrough after a few hours may be a consideration if you have an oily T-zone. That said, it works well for the neck and arms, particularly in air-conditioned environments where the texture feels more comfortable and less tacky.
