[ Review ] Pyunkang Yul Acne Facial Cleanser, Essence Toner, Calming Moisture Barrier Cream

 

I received Pyunkang Yul Acne Facial Cleanser, Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner and Pyunkang Yul Calming Moisture Barrier Cream as part of a collaboration with Stylekorean. 

Pyunkang Yul is the brand launched by the renowned Pyunkang Oriental Medicine Clinic, an institution well-known in Korea for treating atopic skin disorders. 

Each and every ingredient used by Pyunkang Yul has been selected for being the most gentle and safe for skin. Pyunkang Yul Acne Facial Cleanser is made for acne-prone and sensitive skin. This hypoallergenic facial cleanser is infused with White Willow Bark extract to exfoliate dead skin cells, Forsythia Suspensa Fruit extract to decrease inflammation and Centella Asiatica extract to rejuvenate skin. Paraben-free, Sulfate-free and Alcohol-free. 

How To Use : 

1) Lather up a moderate amount on your palms before gently massaging face in a circular motion. 

2) Wash off with lukewarm water.

Begin with the most basic step of all, Pyunkang Yul Acne Facial Cleanser is designed to address blackheads, pores, breakouts, and excess oil, revealing incredibly smooth and radiant results. Formulated for acne-prone and sensitive skin, this hypoallergenic cleanser is said to purge the deepest impurities, without stripping the skin.

The Acne line is Pyunkang Yul's skincare line for those with skin issues. Forsythia Suspensa Fruit extract and White Willow Bark extract rapidly alleviate "angry" skin and adjust excessive skin sebum while Peptide ingredients strengthens the skin barrier and helps manage healthy skin.

Housed in a 120ml tube, this cleanser has a clear gel texture that foams and creates light suds for a gentle lathering with just a pea-sized amount for the face. There is no fragrance. 

I enjoyed using this gel cleanser initially as it helped to reduce excess sebum and left my skin clean, soft and smooth. That said, my palms were slightly drying after a week of daily usage.

Unfortunately, the Acne Facial Cleanser started to feel drying on my face, the more I used it so this isn't a good fit for my combination with surface dehydration skin type.

However, when I passed this cleanser to my husband's 16 year old nephew with acne-prone skin, he enjoyed it so much, that it became his permanent cleanser.

I used Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner back in 2019 and loved it so much then, so I was glad to have a chance to use it again this year. I received mine in a 100ml bottle.

Pyunkang Yul Calming Moisture Barrier Cream is formulated with Cica, Tea Tree and Honeysuckle Flower extracts to calm skin as well as ceramide to fortify the skin barrier. It helps to relieve and moisturize sensitive and irritated skin, leaving it smooth and supple.

Pyunkang Yul Calming Moisture Barrier Cream is housed in a 50ml lightweight clear jar ( with an additional lid ) which makes dispensing effortlessly easy although some may be concerned about the contamination. A clean spatula may be used to scoop up your required contents. 

White in colour, the cream has no fragrance, neither is it oily nor greasy. The lightweight gel-cream consistency with an airy feel glides and absorbs well into skin with a cooling sensation. 

While it doesn't feel heavy on my combination skin, there was a hint of shine which I didn't like, however, with time, I love how it moisturizes and balances the oil-water ratio on my skin whilst leaving it calmed, nourished, smooth and supple. 

Pairing it with a vitamin C serum such as Mediphyt Potent-C15 gives a beautiful and healthy glow to my face too. 

Perfect for irritated and sensitive skin, Calming Moisture Barrier Cream has a mild, low pH formulation similar to that of smooth healthy skin and uses EWG safe ingredients. The product had completed skin irritation test with zero-irritation result where 20 kinds of harmful ingredients were not added.
