I won a box of Huxley Secret Of Sahara Mask ( Glow and Brightness ) during a giveaway hosted by Huxley on Instagram this year and was looking forward to using them.
Hailing from Korea, Huxley's adventure began in the barren Sahara Desert in search of unique and effective ingredients as it is determined to pursue skin care solutions corresponding to modern skin woes affected by a hectic, stressful city life. Packaging, Scent and Function
Huxley Secret Of Sahara Mask ( Glow and Brightness ) comes in a box of 3 individually packed sheets with beautiful transparent packaging that looked luxe. However, with clear packaging, it also meant the printed words on the back of the packaging were difficult to decipher but thankfully, the same description can also be found on the box packaging as I don't fancy straining my eyes just to read them.
The scent is very unique where you either like it or hate it. As I have previously tried some of their sample sachets, I am now more accustomed to their scent. It is a signature scent made in collaboration with LUZI, a 90-year-old Swiss fragrance company.
Each sheet mask comes with dual pouch which refers to having 2 separate "chambers" with 2 formulas where the separate formulas would instantly emulsify when mixed and then turned into a milky essence sheet mask prior to masking.
How To Use :
*To enjoy the best freshness, mix two solution right before use.
1) Fold over bottom pouch 3 times and apply pressure until it pops into top pouch.
2) Press onto surface of top pouch evenly until mixture turns milky.
3) Leave sheet mask on for 10-20 minutes after cleansing and toning.
4) Gently pat remaining essence for maximum absorption.
Performance and Ingredients
Hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested, Huxley Secret Of Sahara Mask ( Glow and Brightness ) is a brightening sheet mask infused with cactus extracts in a milky essence as it protects skin from various harmful environmental factors.
For optimal freshness, one only prepped the sheet mask prior to masking which is where the dual-pouch system comes in. Fold over the bottom pouch 3-fold and apply pressure until the pouch pops, pushing the oil into the top pouch. The sheet mask would be ready for use once the mixture turns into a milky colour.

The silky, ultra-fine microfiber sheet mask made from tightly woven microfibers has a silky texture and is soft and comfortable which helps skin to absorb essence quickly and maximize adhesion to skin. However, the cutting is not a perfect fit with slightly shorter nose flap and a smaller lips cutout.
The hydrating and nutritious milky essence is said to cool and soothe skin but unfortunately, my skin was slightly red on cheeks and forehead during my first usage although there was none in the subsequent 2 usages.
I used 3 sheet mask on 3 consecutive days and skin was hydrated, plumped and felt so smooth to the touch but I was disappointed to see no brightening glow.

Organic Prickly Pear Seed Oil : Incredible resilience to thrive in an extreme environment with daily 50-degreee temperature fluctuations. Takes 36 hours of manual labour to separate 1 million seeds to extract just 1 liter of this pear seed oil. Also contains high content of Linoleic Acid to ensure a lighter, fast-absorbing texture and greater moisturizing effect. Vitamin E ( tocopherol ) over 400 times higher than olive oil.
Cactus Extract : A moisturizing antioxidant. Cactus not only helps to draw moisture into skin but improves skin's ability to retain it by strengthening the skin's barrier function to prevent moisture loss.
Nectapure : A moisturizing and anti-aging skin protectant as it protects the skin against external and internal aggressions that are responsible for premature aging of the skin such as UV rays, pollution and the effects of ozone, tobacco smoke and oxidative stress.
Edelweiss : Soothes and calms the skin. Assists in stimulating blood circulation, skin renewal and cell elasticity, counteracting the typical decline in resiliency of the aging skin. Eldeweiss is also rich in chlorogenic acid, a powerful antioxidant which acts to protect the skin from free radical damage and ageing. It has a natural ability to block UV light absorption making it an effective natural SPF.
Glutathione : Helps to improve skin tone. Glutathione is a tripeptide comprised of three amino acids (cysteine, glutamic acid, and glycine), which work in unison to offer skin-restoring and brightening benefits when used in topical products.

Conclusion
To conclude, Huxley Secret Of Sahara Mask ( Glow and Brightness ) gave rise to smooth and hydrated skin for my skin type but I was disappointed that I failed to see any brightening glow.
