5erenity2 Renew Cleanser is an ultra gentle cleanser which removes impurities and dirt while nourishing and hydrating the skin with coconut oil and amino acids. It is further enhanced with chamomile to soothe our skin while cleansing.

Packaging, Scent and Texture
5erenity2 Renew Cleanser is housed in a white plastic bottle with 150ml of contents. The cap was rather tight but once I managed to pull it out, it was not an issue thereafter, I just presumed its to keep it tight and secure because of the strong scent.

The herbal scent was rather distinct from before opening up the product to actual using it. In fact, initially, my whole bathroom contains the herbal scent as well ( which tells you how strong it is ) but the scent lessened considerably over the past 3 months of usage.
The Renew Cleanser has a lightweight yellow gel texture that contains light suds during massaging on skin.
How To Use :
Renew Cleanser is extra gentle and can be used daily, morning and night.
Massage a small amount on damp skin in circular motions, rinse off with warm water.
note : For external use only. Test for sensitivity on skin before use. If products gets into eye, wash off with copious amounts of water. Store in a cool dry place. Discard 18 months after opening.
Performance and Ingredients
Washing your face each day can really harm your skin if the products you are using are too harsh. For a product you’re using once or twice a day, the gentler the better, which is where 5erenity2 Renew Cleanser comes in.
Made in Singapore, Renew Cleanser is formulated with carefully selected Traditional Chinese Medicinal herbs such as Ginseng and Angelica, which are combined in perfect proportions to maintain the Yin-Yang balance of our skin and nourishes the skin while cleansing.
This ultra gentle cleanser is said to remove impurities and dirt while nourishing and hydrating the skin with Coconut Oil and amino acids. It is further enhanced with Chamomile to soothe our skin while cleansing.
The first few initial cleansing sessions from Renew Cleanser left my palms slightly tight but there was no redness or tightness on my face, however, after 4 days of twice daily usage, my face started to get slightly dry and there were some flakiness around my nostrils.
That said, I do like how the cleanser always left my skin clean, soft and smooth but not the slightly dry sensation which was mainly due to my finicky skin type - combination skin with surface dehydration.
I stopped using it for 2 weeks and when I returned back to using it, I noticed my skin looking brighter immediately and pores were cleaner hence they looked smaller, on top of leaving my skin clean, soft and smooth as always. No flakiness but skin still felt slightly dry.
Suitable for all skin types, particularly dull, lifeless, dehydrated skin, pigmented skin or skin that starts to show premature aging, 5erenity2 Renew Cleanser is a gentle cleanser but its not nourishing and hydrating enough for my finicky skin type. I reckoned if it has a milky texture, it would be the perfect cleanser for me.
In terms of ingredients, it contains the following key ingredients..
Coconut Oil : To moisturize, soothe the skin and improves skin barrier function. Also contains anti-inflammatory properties. ( Research Studies published here and here )
Panax Ginseng Root Extract : To rejuvenate the vital energy, blood and body fluid that is so essential to reduce the rate of skin degeneration, nourish the skin, reduce wrinkles and promotes smooth skin growth.
Paeonia Lactiflora (Bai Shao) : Helps in treating melasma, rough and dull coloured skin conditions.
Poria Cocos (Fu Ling) Extract : To alleviate conditions of freckles, melasma and shown to have whitening properties.
Angelica Polymorpha Sinensis Root (Dong Quai) Extract : Increases circulation, improves complexion, and aids detoxification to clear blemishes.
Bletilla Striata Root (Bai Ji) Extract : Bai Ji has been known as a beauty herb since the use in TCM. It is known as “whitening fairy” for its whitening properties. It is also used for acnes, boils and repairing of scarring tissues because of its healing properties.
Purified Water, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Disodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Coconut Oil, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Amino Acid, Chamomile Extract, Paeonia Lactiflora (Bai Shao), Poria Cocos (Fu Ling) Extract, Angelica Polymorpha Sinensis Root (Dong Quai) Extract, Bletilla Striata Root (Bai Ji) Extract, Xanthan Gum, Citric Acid.
Conclusion
To conclude, 5erenity2 Renew Cleanser is a gentle cleanser meant for all skin types and is made without parabens, synthetic fragrances, phthalates, sulfates and heavy metals. It contains great ingredients and is priced reasonably.
I like how it made my skin clean, soft, smooth and bright with smaller pores, however, the formulation may not be rich and nourishing enough for those battling with dehydration like mine. That said, every skin type is different, what doesn't work for me, may just work for you.
