A good friend has gifted me with Bliss Hot Salt Scrub Self-Heating Body Polish as a Christmas gift last year. Its been a long while since I last used Bliss products so its always nice to revisit old brands.
Packaging, Texture and Scent
Bliss Hot Salt Scrub Self-Heating Body Polish is a 400ml sized body polish contained in a round plastic tub with its white and blue signature colours.
The rosemary and eucalyptus fragrance is rather strong but uplifting and is great during mornings when you need to "wake up".
The self heating formula which consists of Vanillyl Butyl Ether, Dead Sea Salt, Glycerin, Kelp and Algae extracts has a creamy consistency which does not feel abrasive on skin.
Performance and Ingredients
Made in USA, Bliss Hot Salt Scrub Self-Heating Body Polish is blissfully free from Parabens Phthalates, Sulfates, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES), DMDM Hydantoin, Urea, Petrolatum, Mineral Oil, DEA/TEA/MEA/ETA and Formaldehyde.
When I first tried out the Self-Heating Body Polish, I rather like how it warms up upon contact with skin and feels like a mini body spa session as you scrub your skin, leaving it soft and super duper smooth without feeling like its too abrasive.
On a personal note, I thought it would be perfect if it can be even warmer as as the warmth was rather subdued to have any real impact on loosening knots and bundled muscles as claimed.
However, when its nearing to the end of contents, I can no longer feel the self heating sensation. It becomes like a regular body polish, though my skin is still smooth after every session.
Do note that Bliss Hot Salt Scrub Self-Heating Body Polish has to be used on dry skin, prior to shower and not during shower like most scrubs. I have tried it on both wet and dry skin and felt that the effects were more pronounced on dry skin.
On dry skin, the body polish is more difficult to glide on skin but the super duper smooth skin is absolutely to die for. On wet skin, the body polish glides better and skin is still smooth but not as smooth as when I use it on dry skin.
In terms of ingredients, I did not like that it has added fragrance and sodium lauryl sulfate so high up in the list.

Algae Extract : Rich in minerals, this algae helps normalize moisture levels
Vanillyl Butyl Ether: Gentle warming agent that won’t irritate the skin
Conclusion
Bliss Hot Salt Scrub Self-Heating Body Polish is a nice-to-have body scrub but its not something I would repurchase. The product scored 3.2 from 58 users on Makeupalley.
