I purchased Essentiq Herbal Shampoo ( Aloe Vera and Wheat Protein ) quite some time ago, but because it wasn't working as well as I thought it would, I kept it aside and only brought it out for use recently again. Being someone who don't waste products, it was important for me to finish it and provide a review, before moving on to the next shampoo.
Shampoo containing wheat protein tends to perform poorly on my hair structure, making it clumpy and dry like straw. Made in Slovenia, Essentiq Herbal Shampoo wasn't too bad after I took it out for the 2nd trial, although if given a choice, I may not get this again.
I can still wash my hair, but I do feel the "clumpy" hair experience while rinsing the shampoo off. The shampoo suds are moderate and while it cleanses well, it made my hair slightly drier and I do not really enjoy the clumpy nature of my hair during the rinsing. It smells good, with a mixture of lavender, grapefruit and rosemary scents.
Once my hair is air-dry, my hair is back to its normal state but a conditioner is necessary to make my hair shaft softer and manageable.
In terms of ingredients, more than 95% of the total ingredients are of natural origin where at least 10% of the total ingredients comes from organic farming. The product does not contain parabens, phenoxyethanol, sources of formaldehyde, paraffin, propylene glycol, silicon or chlorine derivates, sulfates (SLS or SLES), PEG and EO, synthetic colors, gluten, GMOs. Packaging is recyclable.
