One is simply spoilt for choice when it comes to overnight masks as every brand is trying to come up with their own versions. Overnight masks aka sleeping masks is a great way to repair your skin when you are sleeping. And sometimes, I even treat it almost like a moisturiser, just like Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask.
Despite being a skincare junkie, I dislike layering too many products on my skin, I prefer each product having its time and space to work its magic on my skin. I am not exactly a fan of overnight masks, especially since I dislike overloading too many products on my skin, so an overnight mask is not necessary when a good moisturiser works well for me. I guess its because I have not found one which I am impressed until Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask comes along.
Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask is a white creamy mask that is thick, rich and intense. The trick is to pair well with the products prior to applying the Overnight mask. A little goes a long way so the 10ml capsule mask lasted me for a long while. It is a travel-friendly size of the full retail size and at $5, it is still relatively reasonably priced.
It was not love at first sight initially as I paired with the wrong products. I was using Jurlique Balancing Facial Oil then, and apply Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask at night before bed, but the combination proved to be too rich for my combination skin. My skin was greasy and shiny.
Next I paired it with OSEA Undaria Argan Oil and again, it was the wrong product being chosen. The combination of both products failed to hydrate my skin sufficiently. My skin was both greasy and flaky.
On its own, it does not work as well which is expected, so using it like a moisturiser, after a facial mist is a wrong move. Using it over a moisturiser was too rich for my skin type so it is another no-no.
I finally fell in love with it, when I paired it with Skin Inc Chorella and Vitamin A serums. It was the best combination ever. The Skin Inc serums were pretty good on its own, except that it was slightly drying so a good moisturiser was needed and I chose to replace it with Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask and I have no regrets at all.
I love how the Overnight Mask counteracts the drying effects of the Skin Inc Serums, by hydrating my skin so well. My skin is basically glowing and well rested every day, with the usage of the 2 serums and overnight mask. I couldn't ask for more.
Amazing scent, smooth and supple skin, glowing and radiant look. My make-up also goes on much better. Everything is perfect except for the super long ingredient list.
