Review : Crabtree & Evelyn Gardeners Overnight Hand Therapy
Monday, January 14, 2019
Product Description
Treat dry, hard-working hands to the Crabtree and Evelyn Gardeners Overnight Hand Therapy; a deeply nourishing formula dedicated to replenishing and regenerating skin.
Infused with a concentrated complex of vitamins and amino acids, the lightweight, intensive treatment absorbs quickly to soften and hydrate, whilst combating rough, uneven skin for long-lasting comfort. Supports the skin's natural moisture barrier to leave hands feeling smooth and comfortable with a fresh fragrance of green clover, aromatic lavender, sage, rosemary and thyme. No greasy or sticky residue.
Are you a fan of Crabtree and Evelyn? If so, you may have heard that Crabtree and Evelyn Singapore is in the process of closing all of its 12 stores on the island and will move exclusively online. The closures follow the placing of the Canadian business into bankruptcy protection, resulting in the closure of its 19 stores there as it liquidates its stock. You can read more about it here.
I received Crabtree and Evelyn Gardeners Overnight Hand Therapy as a birthday gift from my friend's children which was a sweet gesture on their part. I have always been looking out for a good hand cream for my dry hands and Crabtree and Evelyn’s newly formulated Overnight Hand Care collection sounds perfect to me. It comes in 6 fragrances - Evelyn Rose, Rosewater, Pear and Pink Magnolia, Pomegranate Argan and Grapeseed, Gardeners and La Source.
My Crabtree and Evelyn Gardeners Overnight Hand Therapy comes in a pretty dark blue tube with a round cap that makes opening and closing it a total breeze. The scent is lovely and makes me sniff it like a cat, each time I applied it on my hands.
Unlike the aluminium tube packaging reserved for its hand cream series, this plastic tube would always maintain its beautiful shape, even when its depleting, although that meant, more depressions are required and also a potential mis-judgement on how much is left.
The buttery lotion sinks into my dry skin pretty quickly, leaving a smooth and silky after-feel. There is no greasy or sticky sensation which makes it perfect to continue doing your office work, without leaving dirty fingerprints all over.
Crabtree and Evelyn Gardeners Overnight Hand Therapy is touted as a more intensive hand cream than the regular Gardeners Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy, which it really is, in terms of texture. It is more emollient and less lightweight than its regular non-overnight counterpart.
However,my dry hands still require something even more intensive than Crabtree and Evelyn Gardeners Overnight Hand Therapy, although it did help to some extent, as my hands are less drying than before and I applied on a lesser frequent basis.

Review : Crabtree & Evelyn Citron Honey & Coriander Hand Therapy Cream
Friday, June 17, 2016
Product Description
Lock in lashings of moisture with our award-winning Citron, Honey and Coriander Hand Therapy. Infused with macadamia nut oil, shea butter and conditioning lemon, coriander and honey extracts, this intensive cream nourishes skin so it’s noticeably smoother after each luxurious application.
- Contains hydrating ceramides and antioxidant-rich vitamin E
- Myrrh extract helps condition nails and cuticles
- Formulated without lauryl sulfates, mineral oil, parabens or propylene glycol
I received Crabtree and Evelyn Citron Honey and Coriander Hand Therapy Cream as a gift from my aunt who always have a dozens of such hand creams from friends and colleagues during the Christmas season.
At 100g, it was a travel-friendly fit for my trip to Sydney/Melbourne and I used it several times daily, to nourish my hands. My hands suffered the most whenever I travel to a drier climate because I have yet to find a hand cream that really moisturises my dry hands to my satisfaction so it was either a hit or miss whenever I use a new hand cream.
Citron Honey and Coriander Hand Therapy Cream has a citrus scent that smells of a mixture of lemon and coriander which is divine to me. It sinks into the skin pretty well without any stickiness or greasiness. And although my hands feel slightly moisturised, I don't find it adequate for my dry hands in a colder country.
This product scored 4.5 from 8 users on Makeupalley.

The 50ml travel sized shower gel was a perfect fit for my recent Australia trip as it was travel friendly and does not spill easily with its flick top cap.
The orange scent is certainly uplifting and refreshing. As with all other shower gels from Crabtree and Evelyn, the Tarocco Orange Eucalyptus and Sage Bath and Shower Gel foams well and lathers pretty well.

Crabtree & Evelyn Citron, Honey & Coriander Skin Cleansing Bath & Shower Gel
Friday, February 5, 2016
Product Description
Caress and cleanse skin in one scented sweep with Citron, Honey and Coriander Bath and Shower Gel. This fragranced, gently cleansing gel creates a smooth lather in the shower, brilliant bubbles in the bath and a splash of radiance in your daily routine.
- Lemon and coriander extracts help freshen skin
- Extracts from sugar and fig help smooth and clarify
- Formulated without mineral oil, parabens, phthalates or propylene glycol
I owned a 50ml travel sized of this Crabtree and Evelyn Citron, Honey and Coriander Skin Shower Gel which I brought along for my winter trip to Beijing.
The weather was cold and dry but the shower gel did not dry my skin. The scent was heavenly uplifting. The gel is sulfate-free but foams were aplenty to give us a good wash.
Note that I still get eczema from the winter weather, though I will hardly associate it with this shower gel, since my eczema tends to flare up in winter.

Crabtree & Evelyn Revitalising Bath & Shower Gel
Sunday, July 19, 2015
Product Description
This Bath and Shower Gel is formulated with conditioning avocado extract, rejuvenating olive fruit extract, and soothing basil extract for skin, leaving it fresh and gently moisturised. Creates a smooth lather in the shower, brillant bubbles in the bath and an extra splash of moisture in your daily bath.
Benefits :
- Avocado and olive extracts help condition skin
- Basil extract soothes skin
- Formulated without mineral oil, parabens, phthalates or propylene glycol
I recently had a staycation at The Mandarin Orchard Hotel and brought along the Crabtree and Evelyn Revitalising Bath and Shower Gel as the complimentary ones are usually too drying for my skin. I tend to have a bad habit to check out the toiletries in hotels but most are just not too impressive.
The Hotel Intercontinental provides L'occitane range of toiletries in my bridal suite some years back. However, I am not too sure if the brand of toiletries are extended for all rooms. Toiletries, in my opinion tells alot about the hotel's customer focus. One should feel pampered, isn't it? Else why choose hotels over hostels?
Infused with avocado olive and basil extracts, this shower gel has a lovely and fresh fragrance that uplifts one's mood in the mornings. Crabtree and Evelyn bath products are always well-received with their well-formulated fragrances, however their list of ingredients are not at all natural/organic so it may not receive much love from the natural/organic community. Great news is, they are paraben and sulphate-free.
It lathers well with moderate suds and provides a clean, pampered wash.
Review : Crabtree & Evelyn Caribbean Island Wild Flowers Hand Therapy
Friday, May 15, 2015
Product Description
Rich in antioxidants, this intensive conditioning hand cream from Crabtree and Evelyn is formulated with conditioning shea butter and macadamia nut oil to moisturise and soften hands.
I love receiving hand creams as Christmas gifts because they are just so practical. The Crabtree and
Evelyn Caribbean Island Wild Flowers is a Christmas gift from a good friend, which I use in the
office. With a simple illustration, the packaging looks very ordinary and with milky-white in colour, one may not have notice it lying quietly on the office table.
I adore the scent which is a light fragrance of florals that isn't too overpowering, yet lingers on the
hands for awhile until you wash it off. Even my male colleagues commented that it smells divine. The description says the delicate spider lily is at the heart of the fragrance, softly blended with island
wild flowers, tropical citrus fruits, night blooming jasmine and sea air accords.
This 25g pliable tube is much more user-friendly than the old aluminium types where it gets dented out of shape and get torn at the metal sides. This tube is easy to depress and still retains its shape nicely, though slightly flatter.
White in colour, the texture of the hand cream is like a lightweight moisturiser for the hands. It is non
-greasy or heavy, moisturises slightly but requires re-application every now and again, for my dry hands in the air-conditioned office.
Not the best but still moderately fine. The ultra-moisturising hand therapy costs $13 for a 25g and $65 for a 300ml size. You can get the 25g at a cheaper price during member's sale, usually near to Christmas period.

Crabtree & Evelyn Pear and Magnolia Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy
Saturday, March 21, 2015
Product Description
Lock in lashings of moisture with our Pear and Pink Magnolia Hand Therapy. Infused with shea butter and macadamia nut oil to condition and moisturise, this intensive cream nourishes skin so it’s noticeably smoother after each luxurious application.
- Contains hydrating ceramides and antioxidant-rich vitamin E
- Myrrh extract helps condition nails and cuticles
- Formulated without mineral oil, parabens, phthalates or propylene glycol
Pretty pink packaging makes it a very sweet product for the ladies as a Christmas gift. The plastic packaging meant that it doesn't get that dented ugly look after much depressions, as opposed to its original metal packaging.
The sweet scent may be a bonus to others but is overpowering for my nose. With its shea butter formula, the texture is creamy without being heavy or overly greasy. You can see a slight sheen on your palms after application.
I would peg this hand therapy as being slightly more moisturising that the previous few hand creams I have used before, from the same brand, but my hands still required something stronger.
Review : Crabtree & Evelyn Himalayan Blue Hand Cream
Friday, February 27, 2015
Product Description
Lock in lashings of moisture with our Himalayan Blue Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy. Infused with macadamia nut oil, shea butter and extracts of golden champaca, ginger and tea oil, this intensive cream nourishes skin so it’s noticeably smoother after each luxurious application.
- Contains hydrating ceramides and antioxidant-rich vitamin E
- Myrrh extract helps condition nails and cuticles
- Formulated without mineral oil, parabens, phthalates or propylene glycol
Hand creams are lovely gifts because most females use hand cream! Himalayan Blue has a fresh scent that is not exactly as appealing as that of the Rose Hand Cream but is still bearable.
The pliable aluminium tube is a disaster waiting to happen, because it literally broke at the sides, even though I did not toss it in my bag, but just sitting on my office table for regular usage.
The daily depressions on the tube caused the sides to break which reflects poor quality. I have used several of their hand creams without experiencing this issue before, so perhaps there is a quality issue with this batch or that, there is a change in the packaging material.
Crabtree and Evelyn Himalayan Blue Hand Cream has a fresh scent with a white cream that is neither too thick nor too light but is moisturising though not as much as what my hands need. It doesn't leave a greasy after feel on the skin but because my hands are dry and flaky after coming back from the winter weather, I still require frequent application.
It is more moisturising than most hand creams but it doesn't really combat the after winter hands yet is still moderately sufficient to be used in the air-conditioned office.
Crabtree & Evelyn Pomegranate Argan & Grapeseed Bath & Shower Gel
Sunday, February 15, 2015
Product Description
Caress and cleanse skin in one scented sweep with Pomegranate, Argan and Grapeseed Bath and Shower Gel. This beautifully fragranced, gently cleansing gel creates a smooth lather in the shower, brilliant bubbles in the bath and a splash of luxury in your daily routine.
- Conditions with antioxidant-rich pomegranate and grapeseed extracts
- Formulated without mineral oil, parabens, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfate or propylene glycol
Fragranced with pomegranate, zesty citrus and fig leaf, it has a scent that is a tad too sweet for my senses. The formula contains argan oil, which is full of Vitamin E and nutrients although this ingredient is not too high up in the ingredient list.
It provides good lathering, with its sodium laureth sulfate as its 2nd ingredient but is not drying on my skin, even in the winter weather. Just a decent body wash that keeps your skin feeling clean and fresh.

Review : Crabtree & Evelyn Evelyn Rose Ultra Moisturising Hand Therapy
Wednesday, October 8, 2014
Product Description
Beautifully soften and enrich hands with our award winning, shea butter-rich Evelyn Rose Hand Therapy formulated with ceramides 3 and 6II and blends choice ingredients to reduce moisture loss while promoting your skin’s hydration level to leave hands noticeably smoother and supple with each use.
Infused with macadamia nut oil, shea butter and the conditioning extracts of rosa hybrid and rosa gallica, this intensive cream is said to nourish skin with hydrating ceramides and antioxidant-rich vitamin E and conditioning nails and cuticles with myrrh extract. It is formulated without mineral oil, parabens, phthalates or propylene glycol.
Housed in an aluminum pink tube with a feminine feel, the cream oozes out from the tube easily. Due to its pliable tube material, it also meant that any depression on the tube will create ugly dents or creases which may not be a pleasant sight when its nearing the end.
It has a lovely rose scent which may please the majority but I thought it was slightly overpowering though it dissipates with time. The texture is soft with a medium consistency that gets absorbed into my hands without any greasiness or stickiness. It moisturizes my hands moderately well in my air conditioned office.

Review : Crabtree and Evelyn Rosewater, Lily Of The Valley Bath and Shower Gel
Sunday, June 9, 2013
Product Description
Crabtree and Evelyn Rosewater Bath and Shower Gel contains extracts of Peony, White Magnolia and Elder Flower, Rosa Centifolia Flower Water and Glycerine to leave skin cleansed, conditioned and wonderfully scented. Free of parabens, phthalates, propylene glycol and mineral oil.
The last 50ml shower gel from my Crabtree and Evelyn travel pack, this rosewater shower gel is my favourite of the lot. Not all rose scented products are lovely but this shower gel is just fabulous without being over the top. It is calming and relaxing.
It lathers gently with suds and although it contains SLS as its 2nd ingredient, it did not leave my skin drying. It is decent and cleanses like all regular shower gels. The only winning point is its scent.
It scored 4.2 from 16 users on Makeupalley.
Product Description
Crabtree & Evelyn Lily Of The Valley Bath and Shower Gel contains extracts of Peony, White Magnolia, and Elder Flower and glycerine to leave skin cleansed, conditioned and wonderfully scented. Free of parabens, phthalates, propylene glycol, and mineral oil.
Crabtree and Evelyn shower gel products contain Sodium Laureth Sulfate so it may leave the skin drying after a long period of usage or immediately after usage.
However, so far, I have not experienced any adverse reactions to their shower gels. No drying after-feel.
Retailing for $35, this shower gel smells lovely without being overpowering. There are light lathering suds due to the inclusion of Sodium Laureth Sulfate. I got mine in the miniature size which I purchased during a Christmas sale.

Review : Crabtree and Evelyn Lavender Bath and Shower Gel
Monday, June 18, 2012
Product Description
This luxurious cleanser conditions the skin with a helping of lavender, peony, white magnolia and elderflower. For a truly indulgent shower, work into a lather all over to soothe, refresh and scent the skin. Alternatively, squeeze a little into running bath water and sink into decadent bubbles.
Its vegetable base formula gently cleanses even the driest skin, and is free from parabens, phthaletes, propylene glycol, and mineral oil. Relax with the aromatic and soothing scent of fresh English Lavender, blended with Violet, Lemon Lead, Tonka Bean and Soft Musk.
I owned the 50ml travel sized Lavender shower gel which I have been using recently. It smells wonderfully, very soothing and very calming with the english lavender scent.
The texture is gel-like and does not give any drying feeling, despite containing SLS. It lathers very well and creates lots of foam.
A shower gel, perfect for pampering the senses but I still prefer to use shower washes without Sodium Laureth Sulfate.
Ingredients:
Water (Aqua), Sodium Laureth Sulfate, PEG 7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Cocamide DEA, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Polyquaternium 39, Fragrance (Parfum), Lavandula Angustifolia Oil (Lavender), Disodium EDTA, Benzophenone 4, Dipropylene Glycol, Citric Acid, Sodium Chloride, Linalool, Coumarin, Eugenol, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Ext Violet 2 (CI 60730), Red 33 (CI 17200)
Review : Crabtree and Evelyn Wisteria Bath and Shower Gel
Wednesday, November 16, 2011
Product Description
Indulge in a deliciously long shower or bubble bath scented with our fresh and delicate Wisteria fragrance.
Rich lathering shower gel, Foaming bubble bath, Delicate floral fragrance
Fragrance: The delicate fragrance of wisteria blossoms and white lilac with hints of sweet violet.
The 50ml shower gel I owned comes from a Christmas set I bought last year. I usually like to save my travel sized products for travelling and I finally remember to bring it along for my Hong Kong-Macau trip earlier this month.
I tagged along a friend of mine who is a C&E member to get special discounts for Christmas sets. Usually, around Christmas time, there would be special prices for C&E members for their products, 30% discount, if I remembered correctly.
I hardly purchase CandE products nowadays as I am trying to incorporate more natural items into my bodycare products.
This shower gel from the Wisteria range, contains SLS which usually leave a tight taut feeling on the skin after wash. Surprisingly, I experienced none of these effects with this shower gel.
It glides on damp skin smoothly, producing foam easily for a pampering wash. The fragrance comes on abit too strong though.
Review : Crabtree and Evelyn Naturals Botanical Shampoo and Conditioner
Saturday, May 21, 2011
Product Description
With nourishing Avocado, Olive and Basil. Formulated with moisturising and antioxidant-rich botanicals. No added parabens, phthalates or sodium lauryl sulfate
Funnily enough, this range is not reflected on Crabtree and Evelyn website. At 27ml each for both the shampoo and conditioner, it lasted through about 10 washes, with the conditioner being used up much faster before the 10 times is up.
The scent reminded me vaguely of Skin Food Brocolli Sun Cream and its not something I quite like. However, I am amazed at its detangling ability. For the first time in months, my comb actually managed to comb through all my hair. There is no tangled ends and no dry ends that tangled easily.
Soft and detangled, it remained thoughout the usage of both the shampoo and conditioner. It didn't work that well with other conditioners so I believe both shampoo and conditioner works beautifully to detangle my long and coarse hair. I like it, except for the scent.

Review : Crabtree and Evelyn Citron Honey and Coriander Hand Therapy
Saturday, May 7, 2011
Product Description
Shea butter-rich moisturiserFeatures :
Hydrates to improve softness
Helps condition nails and cuticles
Free of parabens, lauryl sulfates, mineral oil, and propylene glycol
I bought this at the Mall of America in Minneapolis in February, but I do not recall seeing it on Singapore shores or perhaps I may have missed it out. With vibrant lemon and fresh coriander with a touch of sweet honey as the fragrance, it seems refreshing enough for daily use at work. However I found the scent to be quite light and mild in my personal opinion.
There seems to be a similar design, but known as anti-aging hand remedy instead . Do not be confused with mine, as mine is the hand therapy version.
The white texture is light and falls in-between fluid to creamy, absorbs easily into the skin, without a greasy feel. However, I feel that it does nothing permanent to my dry hands, which I tend to wash often in my line of work. It made my hands and cuticles soft and smooth for a short while and then it dries out to nothing which made me re-apply all over again.
Although its not as bad as the Loccitane honey miel and lemon hand cream but its still something I would not re-purchase.
Key Ingredients:
Macademia Nut Oil (moisturises); Shea Butter (moisturises); Hyaluronic Acid (hydrates and softens skin); Myrrh Extract (helps condition nails and cuticles); Ceramides 3 and 6 II (improve moisture retention); Saccharide Isomerate (regulates moisture); Lemon, Coriander and Honey extracts

- Award winning shea butter hand cream
- Soothes
- Conditions
- Moisturizes
Hearing this, you would have thought that I love this to bits but no, I was just trying to use up all my 3 tubes before giving it a verdict that it truly does not work for me.
This is the worst hand cream I ever used from Crabtree and Evelyn Hand Therapy range.
The scent is pretty unique, considering that its a mixture of a blend of briar roses, bergamot, fresh greens, amber and vanilla. Its bearable but I wouldn't describe it as a scent I like because I was expecting my hand cream to smell even nicer than this.
White in colour, the texture is light, yet is able to leave a light coating of greasy film on the hands once applied. I presume its supposed to be a layer of moisturising veil to keep my hands well-moisturised but sadly, it does not work that way on my hands. In fact, my hands seemed to turn drier after every use.
Key Ingredients :
Shea butter (moisturizing, conditioning), lavender oil (soothing) bisabolol / chamomile (soothing), allantoin (anti-irritant), glycerin (moisturizer), Vitamin E (anti-oxidant)

Crabtree & Evelyn Gardners Hand Therapy is a shea-butter rich formula hand cream which contains shea butter as well as extracts of yarrow, clover and calendula to help soothe and condition work-roughened hands.
Main functions : Soothes, conditions and restores softness
Scent: Fresh green clover, lavender, sage rosemary and thyme.
I bought the 3 in a pack during the last Christmas season together with the lavender pack as well and have been using it after finishing the lavender hand cream ( read my review ).
Compared to the lavender hand cream, its not as light or mild yet its also not that heavy.
It keeps my hands moisturised but only for a short while and I still need to reapply after every 1 hour or so.
As with all Crabtree and Evelyn hand creams, it does not leave any greasy after-feel or prints all over.
Its a best-seller in some websites, coupled with rave reviews.
After reviewing all 4 hand creams, I will say, I prefer either the rose or this hand cream. For now, I will stick to both of these, till I find a better one out there.
Main Ingredients :
glycerin (moisturizing), shea butter (conditioning, emollient), clover (deodorizing), bisabolol from chamomile (soothing)
[ Review ] Crabtree and Evelyn Lavender, La Source, Rosewater Hand Therapy Cream
Friday, May 15, 2009
Crabtree and Evelyn Lavender Hand Therapy Cream contains pure lavender essential oil which is the special ingredient in this award-winning hand cream.Main functions :
To soothe, moisturize and condition dry or rough hands.
In comparison with the rose therapy hand cream, this feels heavier. In fact, I do not need to reapply as frequently as when I was using the rose therapy hand cream in my air-conditioned office so I was quite happy with this hand cream.
As the name implies, there is the hint of the lavender scent so if you are not a lavender fan, you may want to skip this hand cream. Well, actually I hardly use any lavender scented products before but in my mind, I always thought lavender was supposed to smell heavenly.
However, the scent of this hand cream reminds me of some medicated lavender aromatherapy oil which I did not really like. However, it did grow on me after awhile and I have sort of got used to it.
As with all Crabtree and Evelyn hand creams, its not greasy or sticky. There is no sticky after-feel which I appreciate.
Ingredients :
Water (Agua), Glycerin, Isopropyl Myristate, Emulsifying Wax NF, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides, Stearic Acid, Cyclomethicone, Sucrose Distearate, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Fragrance, Achillea Millefolium Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Trifolium Pratense (Clover) Extract, Propylene Glycol, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Triethanolamine, Dimethicone, Sucrose Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Allantoin, Bisabolol, Proline, Sorbitol, Sodium PCA, Sodium Lactate, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, Isobutylparaben
Crabtree & Evelyn La Source Hand Therapy Cream is formulated with natural shea butter to soothe, moisturize and condition dry or rough hands. In comparison with the Rosewater Hand Therapy Cream, it does not fare that well. After being impressed by the Rosewater Hand Therapy Cream, I was duly disappointed by this product as I expected something better or at least to be on par.
It does not keep my hands as moisturised as the Rosewater and I need to re-apply very often.
Its non-sticky and no greasy after feel which is something I like but then the cream is just too mild and light for my dry hands.
It did get absorbed into my hands but my hands still feels dry and as such I need frequent re-applying.
Main Ingredients: Shea Butter, Bisabolol, Algae Extract
Crabtree & Evelyn Rosewater Hand Therapy Cream is a shea butter-rich hand cream that helps to soothe, smooth and moisturise dry hands with a rosewater fragrance. Ingredients : Shea butter (conditioning) Vitamin E (antioxidant, soothing), rosewater(soothing, calming), allantoin (anti-irritant), bisabolol (soothing,anti-irritant)
I have been using this product for a month in an air-conditioned office and I do love this product. Other than the sweet scented rose fragrance, it kept my hands moisturised for a while.
However, as my hands are usually quite dry, it may be too light to keep my hands moisturised for hours.
If you only need a hand cream to keep it moisturised in an air-con environment, why not consider this product?
