Galactomyces Face Mask Review

Product Description
Galactomyces Face Mask hydrates the skin with naturally derived moisturizing ingredients leading to a dewy complexion.

Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate has become one of the most sought-after fermented skincare ingredients in recent years. Rich in amino acids, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, this yeast-derived ferment is known for helping to improve skin hydration, brighten dull complexions, refine the appearance of pores and strengthen the skin barrier.

As someone who enjoys trying skincare products with fermented ingredients, I couldn't resist picking up this Galactomyces sheet mask during a 2-for-1 promotion ( choose between a few variants ) at Don Don Donki in Singapore. Despite its minimalist packaging and unfamiliar brand, the ingredient list looked surprisingly promising, so I decided to give it a try.

Interestingly, I couldn't find much information or reviews about this mask online, making it feel like a hidden gem. With no expectations, I started using it as my daily sheet mask before my trip to Japan, and it quickly became one of my favourite discoveries.

Made in Japan, this sheet mask comes in a resealable pouch containing 30 sheet masks neatly folded and stacked together. The packaging, with its elegant pink and gold design, looked surprisingly attractive on the shelves at Don Don Donki and immediately caught my eye. I'm so glad I decided to bring it home because it turned out to be an excellent value-for-money purchase.

Galactomyces Face Mask Texture

The sheet mask itself is made from a sturdy but thin material that feels durable and doesn't tear easily. It has a light, pleasant fragrance and adheres reasonably well to my round face. The mask is generously sized, with a little excess fabric extending beyond the sides of my face, although I wish the strip covering the philtrum was slightly wider for better coverage and a more comfortable fit.

Unlike some sheet masks that are dripping with essence, this one contains just the right amount. The mask feels comfortably moist without being overly wet or messy. Since it isn't soaked with excess essence, it naturally begins to dry towards the end of the recommended 15-minute wear time, making it a good reminder that it's time to remove it.

I found that this sheet mask performed best when applied immediately after a warm bath or shower, while my skin was still slightly damp. It seemed to lock in moisture more effectively, leaving my skin hydrated, refreshed and comfortable. It left behind a healthy, dewy glow. My skin also felt softer, smoother and more supple, and I even noticed that the rough patches around my nose felt much smoother after each application.

On occasions when I used it on completely dry skin, the results weren't that impressive.

One thing worth noting is that alcohol, preservatives and parabens are listed among the last four ingredients on the ingredient list. As they are present in relatively small amounts, they did not cause any irritation or dryness on my skin during the period I used this mask. However, if you have very sensitive skin or prefer skincare products that are free from these ingredients, this is something to keep in mind.

For a budget-friendly Japanese sheet mask that receives very little attention online, this exceeded all my expectations. If you're looking for an affordable daily sheet mask with Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate that delivers hydration, softness and a natural glow, this underrated find is definitely worth picking up whenever you spot it at Don Don Donki.

If you happen to spot it during your next Don Don Donki visit, don't hesitate to pick one up. I'd love to hear your thoughts too, so leave a comment below if you've tried it or if you discover another hidden skincare gem!
