A friend passed this to me, as she felt it was useless to her. Frankly speaking, if not for the free sample, I would never thought of trying this cream. It just never occur to me to use it as a body moisturiser or anywhere else. In fact, where dryness or dehydration is concerned, I prefer to use my own preferred brands.

Even if those products did not help, there are too many brands out there for me to try, before I would even think of Ego QV Cream.

When I came back from the winter work trip, my hands and feet were very coarse. My finger pads were cracked, peeling and flaking very badly. I hated the feeling so much that I try to avoid as much touching as possible with my hands, because everything is just coarse.

According to QV, the skin is made up of layers of cells. The top layer forms a barrier that prevents moisture being lost and prevents allergens/irritants from getting in. When this top layer loses moisture, the skin becomes dry and flaky. It tends to crack, allowing irritants/allergens to enter and increasing the potential for irritation.

Since I always have some lotions or creams in my stash, I searched for the heaviest texture that I could find and my first choice was this QV cream as the shoutout on the box is "repair dry skin".
My confidence surged after reading the product description as it seems to be the ideal cream for my very coarse and dry hands and feet.

This QV cream is my life-savior all right. There is not much of a scent and the texture is a white thick cream with a greasiness undertone. On the first night, I applied on my feet, soles included and went to sleep with my socks. I see and feel a difference immediately the following morning. It was less dry and the lines on my soles were less obvious. And so I continue to use it on the feet and started applying it on my hands at night, before I sleep.

I started off with night application because the cream is very greasy and a sleep of 7 hours, without touching water is ideal for me, to see the effect. At work and at home, I tend to wash my hands frequently which defeat the purpose of using this cream.

As my hands and feet got better, I started to bring the cream around in my bag and used it in the day too. Even though I did not like the greasiness it left behind, but I still have to use it, because it works. It is such a relief that I have no more cracks and there is no coarse feeling on the hands and feet.

A great cream for those with perpetually dry skin! You can get it from Amazon or the local pharmacies.

Glycerol 10% - An effective humectant with high moisture binding ability 5.
Light liquid paraffin 10% - Emollient oil which contributes to skin flexibility.
Soft white paraffin 5% - The most effective occludent and emollient for protecting dry skin and allowing it to hydrate again 2.
Dimethicone 350 3% - Facilitates skin suppleness.
Squalane - A component of human sebum. Squalane improves the suppleness and smoothness of the skin without feeling greasy 10. It also aids in preventing water loss from the skin's surface.
Methyl hydroxybenzoate 0.2% - As a Preservative.
Dichlorobenzyl alcohol 0.1% - As a Preservative.

The active ingredients in QV Cream are glycerol, light liquid paraffin and white soft paraffin. The light liquid paraffin and white soft paraffin belong to a group of medicines called emollients. Emollients form a film on the skin surface which slows down the loss of water from the skin. The glycerol acts as a humectant. Humectants increase the amount of water retained by the skin. Together, the light liquid paraffin, white soft paraffin and glycerol allow the skin to re-hydrate, making it soft and smooth. Dry skin may become itchy. Re-hydration of the skin will also relieve the itchiness due to dry skin, thus soothing the skin.

Ingredients
Aqua (water), paraffinum liquidum, glycerin, petrolatum, cetearyl alcohol, squalane, dimethicone, ceteth-20, glyceryl stearate SE, stearic acid, laureth-3, glyceryl stearate, methylparaben, dichlorobenzyl alcohol

Didn't work for my two children. They both have had mild eczema since birth and when I heard about QV, I used it on them. My hand fell rough and dry afterward. Needless to say, my children were itchy and scratch until bloody.

Hi, thanks for reading.
Eczema is a tricky business. And for young children, its torturous to see them scratching, as a mother.
I use Physiogel AI Cream for my eczema flare-up.
