To help balance the exfoliating properties, an antioxidant-rich super berry complex composed of 49.02% blueberry and raspberry extracts reduces inflammation and irritation, while also promoting cell turnover. All combined, you have a great daily exfoliator.

I received ELMT Gentle Exfoliating Solution last year as part of a Wishtrend collaboration. Exfoliation should be a part of everyone's skincare routine although the use can be limited, depending on your skin type.
The purpose is to remove dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. Our skin naturally sheds dead skin cells, but sometimes this process can become inefficient, leading to a build-up of dead cells that can clog pores, make the skin look dull, and potentially contribute to acne or other skin issues.
Exfoliators help to accelerate the removal of dead skin cells, revealing fresher, smoother skin underneath. They can improve skin texture, unclog pores, and promote a brighter complexion. Additionally, exfoliation can enhance the effectiveness of other skincare products by allowing them to penetrate the skin more deeply.
Packaging, Scent and Texture
ELMT Gentle Exfoliating Solution is housed in a 150ml clear green glass bottle with a minimalistic apothecary vibe. It feels heavy and isn't suitable for travelling so it is best to decant to a smaller bottle if you need it for a trip.
It has a blueberry scent and the runny clear texture makes it easy to be poured onto cotton pads for swiping all over the face, however, there is a slight tackiness on skin which thankfully, isn't a big concern of mine, as I will layer a serum shortly thereafter.
150ml is large so it took me a while to run through the bottle, since only a tiny amount is required and I only use it twice a week as an exfoliating toner.
How To Use :
1) After cleansing, use the palm of your hands to gently apply and pat the solution onto the skin.
2) Or, dampen a cotton pad with solution and gently sweep it over the face and neck.
Tips : This solution can be used AM and PM to tone, prep skin for following skincare steps, and refresh, nourish, and hydrate the complexion.
+ For stronger exfoliative care, layer with AHA or BHA products.
Performance and Ingredients
Do you use an exfoliator? There are two main types of exfoliators: physical exfoliators and chemical exfoliators.
Physical exfoliators use a textured substance or tool to physically scrub away dead skin cells. Examples include facial scrubs with small granules, brushes, loofahs, or washcloths. It is important to use gentle physical exfoliators and avoid harsh scrubbing, as aggressive or rough exfoliation can damage the skin.
Chemical exfoliators use specific ingredients, such as alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) or beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs), to dissolve the bonds between dead skin cells, allowing them to be easily sloughed off. AHAs, such as glycolic acid and lactic acid, are water-soluble and work on the skin's surface, while BHAs, such as salicylic acid, are oil-soluble and can penetrate into the pores, making them particularly beneficial for acne-prone skin.
It's important to note that exfoliation should be done in moderation, as excessive or aggressive exfoliation can cause irritation, dryness, or sensitivity. The frequency of exfoliation depends on individual skin type and the specific exfoliator being used. It's best to follow the instructions provided by the product manufacturer or consult with a dermatologist to determine the most suitable exfoliation routine for your skin.

I use it like an exfoliator, hence I prefer to pour on cotton pads, swipe all over my face twice a week.
It feels gentle while leaving skin smooth. I like that it has a short ingredient list of 12 ingredients.
Using it daily as a toner didn't work pretty well for me, as it left a shiny waxy appearance on skin which meant over-exfoliation. Over-exfoliated skin removes much of the surface skin cells leaving a loss of the layers of skin that gives it texture which is the reason why it appears shiny since light reflects off skin easily.
Do note that since ELMT Gentle Exfoliating Solution contains AHA and Vitamin C, I tend to avoid using any other scrubs, vitamin c and retinol products on the same day to avoid any risk of irritation. For those who might find elmt Gentle Exfoliating Solution being too gentle, you can continue to layer with AHA or BHA products for a stronger exfoliation. Be reminded to wear your sunscreen every day as chemical exfoliants will increase skin sun sensitivity.

Conclusion
To conclude, ELMT Gentle Exfoliating Solution works well for me as a twice-weekly gentle exfoliator for that smoother skin, however using it as a daily toner proved to be an overkill, leaving me with a shiny waxy appearance.
