Review : Fresh Soy Face Cleanser

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser is one of their famed products and it has been on my radar for the longest time. A 20ml travel size was in one of my Sephora purchases and thanks to that, I am no longer thinking about it.

Housed in a white tube which dispenses the clear and lotion-like textured cleanser, it reminds one of the popular Cetaphil cleanser but is not exactly so, as the base is Rosa Damascena Flower Water which is known for its anti-bacterial and antioxidant benefits. 

The facial cleanser has a heavy fragrance of cucumber which is overwhelming for me. However, the inclusion of the cucumber extract is supposed to be hydrating and calms down any skin irritation.
There is no foam and I actually don't feel that its drying to skin although I did have a nagging suspicion at the back of my mind because such texture usually does not work well on my combination with surface dehydrated skin type.

Just to test it further, I also tried it on the back of my palms as shown above and the area feels just a little dry immediately after I wash off the contents, although thereafter, that particular area of skin feels smoother. 

I started off with using  Fresh Soy Face Cleanser every night and followed by morning and night usage. The changes were gradual so you have to be observant. 

When I started using the cleanser on a nightly basis, I noticed that my skin around the edges of my nose wings were getting slightly red. That is also the area where I have broken capillaries. 
The redness becomes more obvious when I use it twice a day - morning and night. And then the area starts to flake too.

I only use it as a cleanser and not as a make-up remover so I can't attest to its effectiveness on removing make-up. And as a cleanser, it works badly for my skin type so I can't recommend it to those who has sensitive skin.

However, since this cleanser has so many positive reviews worldwide, you may want to grab a sample to try it out first.
