Review : Canus Goat's Milk Lip Balm

Product Description
Goat's Milk has long been known as a rejuventor of the skin. Goat's milk contains the highest percentage of naturally occurring compounds which help to moisturize the skin and contribute to its softness. Ever wondered why goat's lips are so soft? The reason is simple, it's because of the Canus Goat's Milk Lip Balm! Lightly fragranced with a hint of spearmint, Canus has combined goat's milk with an un-petroleum base and have managed somehow to get it all into one of those little tubes. In order to stay away from those yucky waxy petroleum formulations, Canus has combined goat's milk with virgin olive oil, organic beeswax, organic soybean oil, organic hemp seed oil and spearmint essential oils.

Features :
Natural, Petroleum free, ultra moisturizing
No animal testing
Made with fresh goat's milk
Helps prevent and temporarily protects chaffed, chapped, cracked or windburned lips

I believe this is a brand unfamiliar to most people, including myself. In fact, I cannot even remember when I bought this. I still have several brand new lip balms in my stash, either from overseas trip or online hauling from The States.
Out of Singapore, lip balms usually has a more broader selection in terms of pricing and brands selection which made it a good-to-buy item if I see one on the shelves.

The yellow base with a greasy texture has a spearmint flavour which burned my lips during my initial application for the first week. It was a hot sensation and although it did not make my lips swollen and red but it was really uncomfortable. It came as a surprise because the only time I ever experienced that, is with Neutrogena lipbalm which was my first non-natural lipbalm after I started the switch to natural lipbalms more than 2 years ago.

Its glides on the lips well but most lipbalms did a good job in that. It moisturises the lips well but not very well on severely chapped lips. You can check out the detailed description of the ingredients here.
In my opinion, its nice and all that but just not wonderful enough. It still cannot beat my Yes To Carrots lipbalm. If you are interested, you can get it cheaper at US$2.30 at iHerb. Use OKI787 to get US$5 off your first order.

Its mentioned here that the active ingredients are Octinoxate (7.5%), Oxybenzone (3%) which may not be preferred by some people. Check out what EWG says about it.
