My recent shampoo and conditioner purchases from Iherb were these products - Desert Essence Coconut Shampoo and Conditioner, with more than 1000 reviews each. And they were pretty reasonable at US$5++ for a 237ml tube. These products are also 100% vegan, wheat and gluten free, cruelty free and biodegradable with no animal testing and no phosphates. Their ingredients do not contain parabens, sodium lauryl/laureth sulfates, phthalates, artificial colors, silicones, EDTA, glycol, or petroleum-based ingredients

However, take a step back and you will realize that actually sodium coco suphate is pretty similar to sodium lauryl sulfate ( although it is said to be safer as it does not lead to the formation of carcinogen 1,4-dioxane ) and it falls in the middle of the ingredient list, so the percentage is not as high as the mainstream brands containing SLS.

Desert Essence Coconut Shampoo smells great, with a hint of coconut scent, lathers pretty well and left my hair feeling clean. However, when my hair is in its wet state, they were dry, straw-like and tangled, hence the conditioner is very much needed while using this shampoo.

Due to the foaming suds, they got into my eyes once and it stings real bad. It was soooo painful and I could barely open my eyes. Took more than 30 minutes before the pain subsides.

Desert Essence Coconut Conditioner, when paired with the shampoo, gives my hair the softness and fluffiness. However, my hair ends are still tangled, which is not attributed to the products, but rather my own hair condition. It just didn't make it better or worse.

Both tubes required some depressions to get the contents out and get increasingly more difficult, nearer to the end of the usage. And using both products seem to increase my hairfall.

I probably won't recommend this set of products for those with very dry or damaged hair that requires much conditioning though.
The shampoo scored 3.7 from 55 users on Makeupalley.

Hmm it looks like your website ate my first comment (it
was extremely long) so I guess I'll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I'm thoroughly
enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog writer
but I'm still new to the whole thing. Do you have any tips for newbie
blog writers? I'd really appreciate it.
