After hearing so much about Fresh but feeling mildly disappointed about its star product, I was not too hopeful about Fresh Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask. However, I am pleasantly surprised that Fresh Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask fares better than Fresh Rose Face Mask. At least on my skin.
It is housed in a glass jar, which many would have prefer a more hygienic storage. I just ensure I have clean fingers when I use it, and close it immediately after scooping up what I need. I have been using it for the past 4 months and there have not been any changes in colour or smell.
The texture of the Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask caught me by surprise as I was not expecting a hydrating treatment mask to be something like a whipped potato feel. The so-called velvety whipped texture feels like a soft mashed potato that you apply on the skin. It has a mesh-like texture on the skin, with a lychee scent.
It is slightly spicy and minty and stings on dehydrated areas on skin. The whole experience of using the mask is pretty odd and nothing I have come across in other masks. The tingly sensation on skin is amplified to extreme coldness when I cleanse it with cold water.
The mask soothes and moderately hydrates my skin. Skin feels smoother and softer to the touch. I have yet to see any firmness yet though.
Fresh Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask scored 3.4 from 45 users on Makeupalley. A 50ml size retails at $88 in Sephora which I got it at $70.40 after a 20% storewide discount. A 100ml costs $129 which is insanely expensive but more worthwhile than getting the 50ml size. However, I always prefer to get a smaller tub, just in case it does not work and there will not be any wastage.
