Review on Olive Textured Body Scrub

Its my second time getting this product and it serves me well.
In fact, I will not hesitate to get another few tubs.

This scrub which is suitable for normal to dry skin, is a moisturising, cream-based, gently exfoliating scrub that helps remove dead skin cells and leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth. It contains Community Trade organic olive oil, exfoliating crushed walnut shells and crushed olive stones to help reveal brighter and smoother skin.

Organic Olive Oil - conditions the skin
Ground olive stones, rice granules and crushed walnut shells - Gently exfoliate the skin.
Sunflower seed oil - Moisturises and helps to soften the skin. Provides essential fatty acids that help to repair the skin's moisture barrier, thus helping to restore moisture, smoothness and suppleness

I used to forgo the scrub and only uses shower gel.
After a friend who have been droning on how TBS body scrubs did wonders to her skin, I decided to give it a try.
Afterall, a body scrub does what a facial scrubs does as well, to clear away dead cells to reveal clearer, radiant skin.
If I pamper my face, why not my body?

What I usually do, is to cleanse the body with my regular shower gel, to remove dirt and grime.
Next, I will use the body scrub to clear away those dead cells and boost circulation.
While the skin is still damp, use a body moisturiser to keep your skin soft and tender.

The scrub helps to clear away dead cells, giving way to smooth, silky after-feel on your skin.
Fresh skin will therefore be able to absorb the body lotion better.
Use two to three times per week for maximum effect. Regular exfoliating and massaging can help tone and firm the skin.

In fact, I quite like this scrub because it actually made my body very smooth after the scrub however, I found the grains too rough for my delicate skin. Abit painful at times.

Plastic Bags : Use only what you need

If each family uses one less plastic bag a week, Singapore could save more than 50 million bags each year. By using reusable bags during our shopping trips, we will use fewer plastic bags and help to conserve earth’s resources.

Alternative to requesting a plastic bag from the cashiers : BYOB ( bring your own bag )
Purchase from :
(1) Baggu Bags ( from USA )
(2) Green Feet
(3) Rootote ( from Japan ) available from Artbox or Mela-Co
(4) NTUC Fairprice
(5) Harrods
(6) B-Diff bags
(7) Envirosax (major department stores)
(8) Green Bag
(9) Norquest Bags - from India

Other than buying reusable bags as above, re-use bags which are given together with your purchases like
(1) Levis ( buy your jeans from Heeren Levis and you get their reusable bag free! )
(2) Mphosis ( all outlets )
(3) Iora
(4) Domanchi
(5) Bega
(6) Ness
(7) Pay $5 to get a free Gap bag

What I usually did, is to keep a re-usable bag in my handbag to use it for my shopping goodies.
You never know when you need it.

Update me if you came across nicer bags out there!

Tips to get more out of your beauty products

1) Baby Oil : To be used as a make-up remover or skin softener
Add a few drops into a basin and soak either hands/feets

2) Vaseline : Great as a lip gloss and moisturiser for dry skin
Vaseline combined with matte lipstick = lip gloss

3) Nail Polish : Can be used as a nail polish remover
Apply a fresh coat of polish over the old polish, let it set for a few seconds and wipe off

4) Mascara Wand : Wash an old mascara wand and re-use as an eyebrow brush

5) Fix up a broken lipstick : Heat up the broken piece in a microwave oven in a small container. The heat will melt the lipstick and harden once its cooled. You can use your lipstick again with a lip brush.

6) Old lipstick tubes, thoroughly cleaned, are great for purse-sized pillboxes or for pins.

7) Olive oil added to bath water as a skin softener.

8) Mix some lotion with some vaseline to maximise usage and stretch its value.

9) For eyeshadows that smudge easily -> apply concealer or liquid/cream foundation on the eyelids first, before applying eyeshadow

10) Eyeliner pencils wearing down quickly -> put pencil in the freezer for 15mins before sharpening it

11) Mix sugar with olive oil to act as a body scrub

12) To act as a lip exfoliator
-> use a soft bristle toothbrush to brush the lips lightly every night, before applying a lip moisturiser or vaseline
-> mix a little bit of sugar with honey, rub on ur lips and let it sit for 5mins then wipe off with a warm cloth
