If you are a regular reader of my blog, you would have notice that I pretty like the texture of Dr. GL products so far as it seemed apt for the humid weather in Singapore. You can read about my reviews on Dr. GL Restore Gel Mask and Dr. GL Sun Protection SPF30 PA++ and share with me if you love the products too.
I received a complimentary 10ml sample of Dr. GL Anti-aging Moisturiser ( Face/Body ) several months ago and put it to good use daily, either as a morning moisturiser or as a night moisturiser. Both ways work fine for my skin.
When one thinks about anti-aging products, it conjures image of a heavy and creamy texture, to combat the drying aging skin but not so, for Dr. GL Anti-aging Moisturiser ( Face/Body ). In fact, if not for the label, one would not have guess it to be an anti-aging product at all.
The anti-aging moisturiser in 10ml is exactly the same as the original 50ml retail size in structure and form, with a pump dispenser as well. The only downside is probably that we can't tell when the contents will be used up and if the last drop is dispensed properly via the pump. It is also interesting to note that the moisturiser can be used for both the face and body, even though technically, the skin structure and the way it behaves, differs slightly according to where it is on the body.
However, since the products are formulated by Dr. Georgia Lee, a celebrity aesthetic doctor, I believe she does know her stuff. Her philosophy has always been, "less is more, skincare should be simple" which probably explain why some of her products can be used in different ways.
Made in Korea, Dr. GL Anti-aging Moisturiser has a slippery texture - with a hint of silicone in it.
( Unfortunately, I don't have the ingredient list to verify the claims ) There is a cooling sensation once applied, which tells of an alcohol inclusion in it. I like how the moisturiser sinks into my skin, providing a smooth base for make-up or BB cream.
Unlike some others who found the texture to be pretty rich, I don't. In fact, on the contrary, I found it to be lightweight, as opposed to the usual anti-aging cream on the market. There is no stickiness or greasiness which is a plus point for me.
It applies effortlessly as a moisturiser in the humid weather, leaving my skin smooth but I believe it may not perform well in winter weather where much hydration is needed. This anti-aging moisturiser is great for daily maintenance, perhaps not so, for severely dehydrated skin.
However, as an anti-aging moisturiser, I have yet to see a significant improvement to my skin, but I will attribute it to the fact that I am using a 10ml size, which does not last long enough to reap any benefits yet.
