1. FIND THE RIGHT SKIN CARE PRODUCTS FOR YOUR SKIN TYPE
Use skin care products suitable for your skin type. Skin care products that are too emollient may lead to clogged pores, especially if you have oily skin. Skin care products that clog your pores or cause your oil glands to produce more sebum may lead to enlarged pores.
2. AVOID ALCOHOL, MINT, MENTHOL AND FRAGRANCES
Drying and irritating ingredients in your skin care products may also cause excess sebum production, leading to enlarged pores.
3. ARE YOU USING THICK & HEAVY MAKEUP
The type of makeup you use could also be contributing to your clogged and enlarged pores. Thick, heavy makeup used to cover up blemishes and uneven skin tone could make your enlarged pores worse. It is essential to remove all your makeup before you sleep. Makeup worn overnight can cause clogged pores, eventually leading to blackheads, white bumps and dull skin.
4. USE A GENTLE FACIAL CLEANSER
Use gentle water soluble cleansers. If your cleanser is drying or causes skin irritation, it can cause more sebum production, resulting in clogged and enlarged pores.
In addition, do not use bar soaps on your face! The ingredients that allow bar soaps to hold its shape can clog your pores.
