My team colleague gifted L'Occitane Rose Multipurpose Fresh Mist, together with a hand cream as a birthday gift to me, which was such a sweet gesture that I appreciate. 

Currently using their Cherry Blossom Hand Cream in office, my last 2 experiences were on L'Occitane Immortelle Divine Cream, L'Occitane Immortelle Reset Serum and L'Occitane Precious Overnight Mask.

If you are interested in L'Occitane products, one way to try out more of their products is to participate in their recycling program where you get to try some of their travel-sized products after sending in some empties for recycling. It is a win-win situation for both sides and I hope more brands will do that. 

After experiencing their Relaxing Pillow Mist via the recycling program, I started buying it for myself and others as Christmas gifts.

I received Miguhara Daily Herb Sun Stick SPF 50+ PA++++ as part of a Stylekorean collaboration. This is my first foray into the brand. 

Established in 2013, Korean brand MIGUHARA believes in the power of Mother Nature to enhance beauty. Through extensive research and development, MIGUHARA develops safe and efficacious skin care and make up products from natural, plant-based ingredients to promote skin regeneration and maintain healthy skin. 

When it comes to sun protection, more really is more. While a good sunscreen is non-negotiable in any skincare routine, I’ve recently added a new step that’s made a noticeable difference—applying a sun stick as a primer before my regular sunscreen. At first, it might sound like overkill, but layering sun protection doesn’t just boost effectiveness; it also helps ensure better coverage, especially on days when I’m out and about.

Miguhara Daily Herb Sun Stick is a 20g product with a sleek compact packaging designed for portability and ease of use. Housed in a twist-up tube —similar to a deodorant stick or oversized lip balm—they fit comfortably in the palm of your hand and slide easily into any purse, pocket, or makeup bag. It has a snap-on cover, with a clear plastic lid for hygiene and accidental mess. 

It has a soapy perfume-like fragrance which I rather do without, if given an option but thankfully, its not overpowering. The balm texture has a glowy finishing.

Sigi Skin is a local skincare brand which I have been eyeing for awhile and after purchasing its popular sunscreen (which I have yet to open), I purchased its Acne Rescue Kit where Sigi Skin Daylight Oasis Vitamin C Brightening Serum comes free. It was given free, as the serum was expiring in 3 months time but it wasn't mentioned during the product listing (which was such a shame). 

According to its website, Sigi Skin is a local award-winning skincare brand dedicated to delivering superfood infused with clinically proven actives skincare products that are both effective and free of toxins. Powered by a combination of carefully curated superfood and scientifically proven ingredients, the products are multi-purpose, protecting skin and repairing damage caused by pollution and environmental stressors. Vegan, cruelty-free and made in Korea.

[ Review ] AHC Premium Hydra Gold Foil Eye Mask

After emptying Dermatory Retinal Eye Patch and Goodal Green Tangerine Vita-C Eye Gel Patch, it is time to try out AHC Premium Hydra Gold Foil Eye Mask which I purchased during my last Korea trip. 

Cosmeceutical brand A.H.C (Aesthetics Hydration Cosmetics) was launched in 1999 by Carver Korea Ltd. and is the sister brand to Korean cosmetics labels Shara Shara, VIVITO, and Dr. MJ. Using only natural plant-based ingredients, A.H.C transforms skin to its optimum condition from deep within through a holistic range of hydrating skincare products. The luxury brand offers targeted solutions for aging, dryness, blemishes and discoloration that can be applied to sensitive, oily and trouble-prone skin. 

This is my first foray into the brand, despite hearing so much about its cult eye cream. 

Packaging, Scent and Texture

AHC Premium Hydra Gold Foil Eye Mask comes in a box of 5 individually packed eye masks. Each packed eye mask is enveloped within a clear plastic packaging. The fabric-like material is thin and comfortable, leaving a refreshing sensation upon layering on the undereye area. There is a light fragrance. 

How To Use: 

1) After cleansing and toning, apply the mask to the eye area for 15-20 minutes. 

2) Remove the mask and gently pat the essence in to absorb. 

3) Continue with your routine.

Performance and Ingredients

Cruelty-free and free of parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, and synthetic fragrance. AHC Premium Hydra Gold Foil Eye Mask is suitable for morning and express care as it quickly tones the skin, smoothens it, refreshes and improves its condition, eliminating traces of fatigue and stress.

The delicate fabric base of the mask consists of three layers that perfectly allow air to pass through and effectively transport the active ingredients of the essence to the epidermis. The mask fits tightly to the skin and does not leave a sticky film after use.

Shaped like a cat-eye, this 24-karat gold fabric-like material is thin and soft, leaving a comfortable and refreshing sensation upon layering on the eye area. The generous size meant it can cover both the upper and lower eye area.

I usually prefer to layer it for up to an hour before removing the eye mask. It left my eye area looking more rested and less tired. 

The key ingredients are...

24-karat Gold : Improves skin turgor, combats the effects of UV radiation and helps other ingredients penetrate deeper.

Hydrolyzed Collagen : increases hydration levels, stimulates the production of elastin and collagen, and maintains healthy and youthful skin.

Niacinamide (vitamin B3) : Lightens the skin by suppressing the production of the pigment melanin and normalizes the functioning of the sebaceous glands.

Tranexamic Acid : Blocks the enzyme that triggers the synthesis of melanin - tyrosinase. Does not cause photosensitivity, so the mask can be used in the summer.

Trehalose : Slows down aging, fights oxidative stress, preventing cell destruction by free radicals.

Hyaluronic Acid: Hydrates skin to help diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

[ Review ] OC Naturals Berry Bliss Kids 3 in 1 Conditioning Shampoo & Body Wash

I purchased OC Naturals Berry Bliss Kids 3 in 1 Conditioning Shampoo & Body Wash sometime back, after falling in love with their body washes. 

This is formulated for children and can be used as a body wash, shampoo and conditioner. I purchased it, thinking it will be gentle for my sensitive skin and scalp.

Packaging, Scent and Texture

OC Naturals Berry Bliss Kids 3 in 1 Conditioning Shampoo & Body Wash is a 400ml sized bottle with a flick top cap. The cap does not function well and cannot be closed fully, causing leakage at times. It has an artificial berry fragrance that may delight children but probably not discerning adults. 

How To Use :

Apply to wet hair, form a gentle lather then rinse. Apply to a moist puff or wash cloth & gently lather all over body then rinse.

Performance and Ingredients

I used OC Naturals Berry Bliss Kids 3 in 1 Conditioning Shampoo & Body Wash as a shampoo initially, but it was drying, causing my hair to be straw-like with horrible hair fall that I had to stop after 3 uses. 

As a body wash, the gel-like contents felt slightly sticky although it lathers and cleanses well. Not an ideal body wash, shampoo or conditioner and definitely not a repurchase. 

I realized it costs 3 times more in Singapore, as compared to buying in Australia, while researching for this post. What a disappointing and expensive purchase!

Conclusion

OC Naturals Berry Bliss Kids 3-in-1 Conditioning Shampoo & Body Wash may come in a fun, fruity scent that appeals to children, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. As a shampoo, it left my hair dry and brittle with noticeable hair fall after just a few uses. While it performs decently as a body wash in terms of lather, the slightly sticky texture and poor packaging—especially the faulty cap that leaks—add to the overall disappointment.

To make matters worse, I later discovered it’s priced nearly three times higher in Singapore compared to Australia, making it a costly and underwhelming purchase. Between the drying formula, ineffective 3-in-1 functionality, and inconvenient packaging, this is one I won’t be repurchasing.

[ Review ] Foretderm Derma Relief Vegan Suncream

I first came across this mineral sunscreen after reading about it on Bemused instagram account and was intrigued by it. When there was a sale on their website, I purchased this, together with a few other sunscreens in order to enable the free shipping option. 

Korean cosmeceutical brand FORETDERM uses carefully selected natural and safe ingredients to develop gentle but effective skin care. The clean beauty brand also adopts green practices, like eco-friendly product packaging, to minimize its impact on the environment.

Foretderm Derma Relief Vegan Suncream is a 50ml tube product with a minimalistic vibe. It has a lightweight soft creamy powdery texture with a manageable white cast. There is a subtle sunscreen scent. 

How To Use :

After your morning skincare routine, take an appropriate amount and apply it evenly to the face and neck. For effective UV protection, re-apply as needed.

Performance and Ingredients

Noncomedogenic and dermatologically tested, safe for sensitive skin, Foretderm Derma Relief Vegan Suncream is a soft lightweight cream texture that can be spread easily and absorbed quickly by skin with no greasiness. It is free from potentially harmful ingredients like fragrance, colorants and Parabens.

This vegan fragrance-free physical sunscreen enriched with Madecassoside helps to relieve and strengthen skin barrier, while offering SPF50+ PA++++ broad spectrum UV protection. It also contains Panthenol to deliver moisture to skin.

The lightweight soft creamy texture has a non-greasy soft matte finishing with a manageable white cast upon application. After some blending, it gives a soft natural dewy finish. 

The key ingredients are....

Madecassoside : Soothes irritated and inflamed skin.

Panthenol : Helps retain moisture and strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier.

Peptide Complex : Stimulates collagen and elastin production.

The only UV filter is Zinc Oxide which is a natural ingredient that forms a protective shield on top of the skin, effectively scattering and reflecting both UVA and UVB rays.

However, do note that it also contains Butyloctyl Salicylate, a chemical UV filter not registered as a sunscreen active yet. 

Butyloctyl Salicylate : Helps to increase the SPF rating and enhance the stability of other UV filters like Oxybenzone and Avobenzone. It is not reef-safe. Currently not registered as a sunscreen active yet. 

Said to be the modified version of the chemical UV filter Octisalate which was created intentionally by the sunscreen industry to avoid having Octislate on the ingredient listing as a declared active and used by formulators to disguise the presence of a ‘chemical’ UV filter in mineral sunscreen formulas. It is also used to reduce the amount of inorganic mineral filters needed to get a desired labelled SPF and PPD rating.  (source)

[ Review ] Dear Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream

 

Product Description

Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream helps to calm extremely irritated, stressed skin. For oily, acne-prone and sensitive skin types, this cream can also be used to calm sunburnt skin, post-shaving redness and irritation after spot extraction and laser procedures.

The star ingredient in this cream is Guaiazulene, a powerful skin-calming agent extracted from chamomile oil. It's what gives the cream its beautiful blue color. Added to this is Centella, which hydrates skin and relieves irritation and redness. Perfect for daily use, this cream is what you need to keep redness at bay.

I received Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream as part of my 2nd Wishtrend Affiliate collaboration some time back. I get to choose 5 products in return for product reviews and I chose this, as I really like Dear Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Sheet Mask. Unfortunately, the rules for Wishtrend Affiliate has changed recently so I am no longer eligible for it. 

Some recent Dear Klairs products which I have emptied were Dear Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream, Dear Klairs All-day Airy Mineral Sunscreen and Dear Klairs Midnight Blue Youth Activating Drop. 

Packaging, Scent and Texture 

Dear Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream is a 60g product, housed in a black minimalistic plastic tube. The baby blue cream looks so alluring, which is due to the main ingredient, Guaiazulene, a botanical ingredient extracted from Chamomile Oil. The original colour is a deep blue but becomes a cool light blue during the mixing process. 

The Calming Cream acts more like a treatment product, rather than a moisturiser. It doesn't have any fragrance. 

How To Use : 

Apply a small amount on the affected area in the morning and evening after using toner and serum.

Tips :

Use partially on your skin when:

1) you are sunburned

2) after shaving

3) on problematic areas or extrusions

Q. Can I use Blue Cream as a daily moisturizer?

A. Applying the cream over the whole face may not provide enough moisturization for dry skin. In that case, we recommend using this cream as a supplement following a moisturizing cream

Performance and Ingredients

The Midnight Blue Calming Cream is a gentle, azulene-rich cream that provides help to rapidly calm and soothe sensitivity.

My initial experience with this product was a bit underwhelming. I first used it as a daily moisturizer, and while it has a thick, rich texture, it didn’t provide the hydration my skin needed. After a week, I noticed subtle flakiness around my chin and philtrum, and a rough texture developing on my nose. Applying it post-exercise on a hot day also led to a stinging sensation on my cheeks—definitely not ideal.

However, after some trial and error, I discovered its true potential. Rather than using it as a daily moisturizer, I now reserve it as a treatment product for irritated or sensitized skin. On days when my skin reacts poorly like to Hur Cleansing Balms or Sigiskin Vitamin C serum—this product acts as a calming rescue as I will apply it all over the face. It soothes red patches effectively, and by the next morning, my skin looks noticeably calmer and less inflamed. I will continue using it as a moisturizer for the next 3 days until all the redness or irritation spots subsided. 

That said, it still lacks the hydration I need, so I always pair it with a more hydrating serum or mask to fully support my skin barrier.

Guaiazulene : A natural component extracted from Chamomile Oil with powerful calming effects

Centella Asiatica : Often used for healing damaged skins and as an anti-inflammatory agent. Centella Asiatica in this calming cream hydrates the skin and relieves redness.

To conclude, Dear Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream is best used as a skin-soothing treatment rather than a standalone moisturizer—especially helpful for calming irritation and redness, but not quite enough on its own for dry or dehydrated skin.

By Wishtrend Pore Smoothing Bakuchiol Sun Stick is an 18g stick-type chemical sunscreen that protects skin from UV damage with SPF 50 PA++++. It doesn't have any fragrance. 

Just remove the cover, twist the base of the container to raise the stick, and swipe it all over your face thrice for sun protection. Thrice is my preference but it is best to layer a few rounds and I still apply a regular sunscreen after the sun stick.

This toner was a gift from the PR firm, on behalf of Kiehl's sometime back. I have been using this on an on-off basis as I was trying to gather my thoughts before sharing the review. 

The role of toners in skincare has evolved significantly over the years. Once known for their astringent, alcohol-heavy formulas that left skin tight and dry, today’s toners are far more diverse—hydrating, soothing, exfoliating, or even essence-like in texture and function.

On the other hand, if your cleanser is already gentle and your skincare routine is minimal, you might find toner unnecessary.

I purchased a box of Goodal Green Tangerine Vita-C Eye Gel Patch during my trip to Seoul, Korea last May. This is my last set, after emptying JM Solution Marine Luminous Pearl Deep Moisture Eye Patch and Dermatory Retinal Eye patch. 

Combining the words "good" and "all" for its brand name, Goodal offers skin care designed to be good for all skin types. The brand's range of products blends innovation with traditional Korean fermentation while avoiding harmful chemicals to bring out the skin's vitality. Goodal is a sister brand of CLIO.

Goodal Green Tangerine Vita-C Eye Gel Patch comes in a round bright yellow container with an inner lid and a spatula where the 60 hydrogel patches are stacked upon one another. 

It has an uplifting citrus scent which makes them perfect for morning use. 

How To Use : 

Place 1 pair of gel onto clean, dry under eye area for 5 minutes ( or longer if desired). Discard after use and massage remaining serum into skin.

Performance and Ingredients

These bright yellow hydrogel eye patches have a gooey texture that adheres well and deliver a refreshing, cooling feel under the eyes. I experienced a slight sting on first use, but it was smooth sailing after that. 

Infused with Jeju green tangerine extract rich in vitamin C, they aim to brighten and energize tired skin. The patches noticeably thin out after 15 minutes, showing good absorption. Tip: pop them in the fridge for an extra depuffing boost in the morning!

While the initial use caused a slight sting, subsequent applications were comfortable and soothing. With their cooling effect, vitamin C-rich formula, and skin-hugging texture, they’re a nice addition to a morning routine—especially when chilled for extra depuffing power. Though results may vary, they’re worth trying if you're looking to brighten and refresh the undereye area.

I purchased N'Pure Cica Beat The Sun SPF 50+ PA++++ together with N’pure Cica Beat The Sun Powder, The Aubree Artemisia Daily Sunscreen SPF 50 PA++++, Rated Green Avocado Nourishing Scalp Pack, Clinelle PureSwiss Hydracalm Caring Milk Cleanser and Rosé All Day's Butter Be Gone Cleansing Balm during my Batam trip.

N'Pure Cica Beat The Sun SPF 50+ PA++++ is housed in a 35ml green tube with a minimalistic vibe. I like products with such nozzle tip dispenser which can be found in products such as Celimax Dual Barrier Skin Wearable Cream, Axis-Y Heartleaf My-Type Calming Cream and Axis-y Complete No-Stress Physical Sunscreen.

It makes dispensing the runny lotion-like texture so effortlessly without any mess. I didn't like the milky sunscreen scent though, but thankfully, it wasn't overpowering. There is no fragrance and alcohol added to the formulation. 

How To Use :

1) Apply evenly on the face and neck 30 minutes before doing activities. 

2) Reapply if needed, or doing outdoor activities for long periods of time.

Performance and Ingredients

Formulated with natural Cica Leaf Water, Chrysanthemum Extract, Chamomile Extract and Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, this sunscreen protects skin against UVA and UVB rays while moisturizing skin. It is also hypoallergenic tested and dermatologically tested. 

During my first application, I developed 3 zits ( temple, above the lips and chin ) on the following morning, which surprised me greatly. I skipped using the product for a month and returned to using it, and thankfully, no such issue occurred.

I really like the light texture, how it spreads so easily, and sinks into skin fast with a cooling sensation but unfortunately, it left a a greasy shine on my face akin to SOLYPH Face The Wild Sun Cream on my combination skin with surface dehydration, residing in humid climate. A light dusting of powder helped to minimize the shine.

In terms of ingredients, N'Pure Cica Beat The Sun SPF 50+ PA++++ contains the following 5 UV Filters...

Butyloctyl Salicylate : Helps to increase the SPF rating and enhance the stability of other UV filters like Oxybenzone and Avobenzone. It is not reef-safe. Currently not registered as a sunscreen active yet. 

Said to be the modified version of the chemical UV filter Octisalate which was created intentionally by the sunscreen industry to avoid having Octislate on the ingredient listing as a declared active and used by formulators to disguise the presence of a ‘chemical’ UV filter in mineral sunscreen formulas. It is also used to reduce the amount of inorganic mineral filters needed to get a desired labelled SPF and PPD rating.  (source)

Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate : A new generation, chemical sunscreen agent with high UVA protection and high photostability. Also known as Uvinul A Plus.

Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine : A broad-spectrum ( full UVA and UVB protection ) chemical sunscreen agent which is also known as Tinosorb S. Hardly deteriorates in the presence of UV.

Isoamyl p-Methoxycinnamate : A chemical sunscreen agent with UVB protection. Also known as Amiloxate.

Polysilicone-15 : A chemical sunscreen agent with UVB protection. It also help to stabilize the famously unstable UVA filter, avobenzone and works especially well with Ensulizole to achieve high SPF protection. Also known as Parsol SLX.

To conclude, N'Pure Cica Beat The Sun SPF 50+ PA++++ has been a good experience. I genuinely enjoy the light, fast-absorbing texture that glides on effortlessly with a refreshing cooling sensation. However, it does leave a noticeable greasy shine on my combination skin with surface dehydration—especially in a humid climate. A light dusting of powder helped control the shine.

The nozzle tip dispenser is a highlight—it makes dispensing the runny, lotion-like formula clean and easy. I wasn’t a fan of the typical milky sunscreen scent, though it wasn’t overwhelming. On the plus side, the formulation is free from added fragrance and alcohol.
