Product Description
Mizon Cicaluronic Cleansing Balm melts away stubborn makeup, SPF, dirt and oil, leaving skin hydrated with zero residue. Transforming from a sorbet-like balm to a milky lather, this cleanser seamlessly removes sunscreen, impurities, and excess oil, while gently exfoliating, leaving your skin hydrated and smooth.
I won a Mizon Cicaluronic Cleansing Balm from a Yesstyle Beauty Trial last year. This is my first foray into the brand and it took me awhile to enjoy using it after emptying Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm and Anua Heartleaf Pore Control Cleansing Oil.
Hailing from South Korea, Mizon started in 2007 with one goal, to create innovative beauty products. They invest in cutting-edge technology and use high-quality ingredients to empower everyone’s skincare journey.
Packaging, Scent and Texture
Mizon Cicaluronic Cleansing Balm is a 80ml product housed in a emerald green tub with a cute spatula and an inner lid. The cleansing balm contents match the green tub, with its emerald green hue. It has a subtle natural occurring scent.
How To Use :
1) Scoop out product with included spatula.
2) Gently massage onto dry skin.
3) Rinse with warm water.
Performance and Ingredients
Mizon Cicaluronic Cleansing Balm is packed with plant extracts that removes all trace of makeup while leaving skin feeling moisturized with the inclusion of centella asiatica and hyaluronic acid to soothe and moisturize the skin during the cleansing process.
It has a soft, buttery texture that emulsifies easily with water, making it a gentle option for removing sunscreen and light makeup. At first, I wasn’t impressed—it struggled to fully remove the Klairs All-day Airy Mineral Sunscreen, leaving a whitish residue around my nose and even caused breakouts on my chin.
After taking a break from it, I gave it another shot and was pleasantly surprised—no irritation this time, and it effectively removed the Dermalogica Physical Sunscreen. However, it’s still too lightweight to tackle stubborn products like the Rom&nd Han All Fix Mascara. A helpful trick: apply a generous amount to a cotton pad, coat the lashes, wait five minutes, and rinse. Repeat if needed.
The key ingredients are...
Cicaluronic Complex™ : Premium ingredient that combines soothing and moisturizing benefits of Centella Asiatica and Hyaluronic Acid
Jojoba Oil : Hydrates, softens, and smooths the skin while balancing natural oil production
Melia Azadirachta Flower Extract : It contains antioxidants known to be particularly effective in neutralizing peroxyl radicals
Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, PEG-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate, Polyethylene, PEG-10 Isostearate, Centella Asiatica Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Flower Extract, Amber Powder, Coccinia Indica Fruit Extract, Corallina Officinalis Extract, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract, Melia Azadirachta Flower Extract, Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Ocimum Sanctum Leaf Extract, Solanum Melongena (Eggplant) Fruit Extract, Water, Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Butylene Glycol, Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hyaluronate, Potassium Hyaluronate, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Pentylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance
Conclusion
To conclude, Mizon Cicaluronic Cleansing Balm turned out to be a gentle, buttery-textured option for daily cleansing—especially effective on light makeup and mineral sunscreens like Dermalogica’s. While my initial experience was less than ideal, a second try proved much better, with no irritation or breakouts.
Overall, it’s a gentle and pleasant balm for daily use—as long as you're not relying on it to break down heavy or waterproof makeup.
